Ch. 1 “Brimstone- a City by a river”
What say you boy? Said the man. “I said sir there is a
river by the city.” The boy ran to the outside of the castle
and with his small crimson eyes of pink. He begins to
smell the river that he could not smell before. In the far
distance, he could see a multitude of people walking in a
prestige judgement of their own way. The boy thought to
himself, and he was astounded by the crowd.
One was wearing a huge crown on their head. He saw
numerous ostrich-rabbers. There was a little man walking
with a lady that looked at him as though she did not see
him. There was a Quadronian archer amongst them that
walked as she was limping. There were turtle backs that
were carrying supplies. The boy was so excited that he
went up to the river and saw a school of fish the first time.
Then one that he could not recognize, but he knew that he
was a great man, he came to him and said with a sound
of rushing waves.
“Is this the Great Brimstonian Castle?” The boy looked at
him and with great wonder immediately said yes. “You
mean we made it.” The man looked up and thanked him
and gathered among the crowd to tell them the good
news. “Wait.” The boy said in a cheerful voice to the man.
“Yes, son.” Said the man. “Who, what is your name?” The
man crouched down with his huge seven-foot body and
told him as a whisper. “Bastok Iamtheone.” Said the man.
“Bastok? The boy said and then ran off. Bastok looks at the
great city walls and wonders if they will be safe here. He
thought. “Bastok, where are you?” said fin. “I must speak
with you immediately. It is imperative that we speak at
once sir.” He said to him.
Thanleen is beside fin and bows her head
immediately. “No, Fin, not now.” She says under her
breath. “Of course, this is the greatest of time to tell
him.
Said fin. “Tell me what.” Said Bastok. Fin looks at
Thanleen and nods his brow. “It’s time Thanleen. Triman
is here. We cannot allow this to happen.” He said under his
breath.
Bastok looks at Fin, and wonders with
amazement, that the
two looks as strangers to each
other. Fin looks to the gate
of Brimstone and then looks
at Bastok. Fin then bows in
front of Bastok and starts
yelling. “Arrest this man, he is no accordance to
Brimstonian laws. I am a highly decorated syndicate of
the highest official for Triman. Arrest this man. Now!”
Fin said.
The guards at the gate acknowledge
Fin and
stand firm to arrest Bastok. Bastok looks at fin and
looks for Miku. “Miku, stand firm with me. I do not know
what is going to happen, but I will figure out a plan. Miku
looks at Fin, and nods to him. “I cannot sir. I have vowed
by allegiance to Brimstonian law as well. Bastok face
flattens and becomes frail. “So, they will take me away
after all I have done for you.” He says. Miku looks at
Bastok and turns down her face and lets out small
words. “It was the only way to get you here.” She says to
him bitterly. “So, you see my dear Bastok. “I am but going
to get what is coming to me and uh…you get nothing.” He
promptly says to everyone.
“My dear Thanleen, you did not even speak.” He says to
her. “Fin, this…?” She says to him. Thanleen looks in
another direction and cries a tear of resentment. The
guards furiously gather Bastok and attack him. First by
striking him in the leg and holding him down and
beating his head with a spear to his arms so he cannot
fight back. “Take this man to Triman and be quick about
it.” The soldier of Brimstone says with authority. The
crowd watches as Bastok is brutally taken to the wall of
Brimstone. He calls out for help, but no one can help him.
The guards at the gate laughs profusely at the man
entering the gates. The gates of Brimstone are as wide as
two iron clad gates. They smell of human waste and creak
with eerie noises.
The guards of Brimstone close the gate, kick and beat
Bastok as he shuffles by. “Where did you think you were
going?” a guard asked Bastok. Bastok looks at the guard
and says nothing as he wipes the blood from his lips. “I’ll
tell ya where your going lass.” He said rudely. “Your going
to see the one who we are all afraid of and he aint, no
asunder to mess around with.” He said. The guards
carrying bastok laugh but look serious. “Open up let us
pass we have a non Brimstonian here to see Triman. The
guard says quickly and rude. “Aye what say you have? A
non Brimstonian prisoner?” another guardsman says.
“Yeah…we have this Bastok here.” Says the other
guard holding Bastok. “I see a man but who is he really.
You say his name is
Bastok?” Bastok, who? Asked the
gate man. “Say, what’s your name lass. We aint got all
day now. Out with it you.” He says rudely to Bastok. “I am
Bastok, sir.
Bastok
Iamtheone if you
be so kindly
from Quadronian heir. He said looking sad to the gate
man. “Bastok? Iamtheone? Never heard of ya. Aye. but
Quadronia. That I know of and uh..we all hate that
place. Don’t we boys.” The guards changing around
agree with the gate man and beat their swords on their
shields.
“Aye, enough fun with the prisoner now let us pass.
Triman is still have a word with this er him.” As the
guard with his broad shoulder passes the gateman
guard and says his sweet nothings to him. Bastok
looks down as to try to explain the uncertainty of the
situation. He can not believe that Fin has turned him Into
a prisoner as the miracle of finally arriving to
Brimstone. “what is to become of me now?” He asks, I am
ashamed of what I have become here. I do not understand
how everything I have come to know is a lie to myself.
Why is this happening? Did I deserve the life of a prisoner
after such a beautiful start of a healing life? I am but of
Quadronian heir and I shall this day understand myself
from that what I can do.” He pauses with that statement
and looks up and grieves about what has happened to
Thanleen.
The guard that is holding Bastok shakes him and spats
on his face. “Your gonna love it here filth.” He says to him
as he holds him more
strenuous to his
side. “In fact,
I know you will love it here.” The guardman laughs at him
as bastok looks at him with an unknown expression of
sympathy.
-Log out-
“What in the holy freak is going on.” Said Michael as his
jaw drops from the screen. “This is not happening? Is it?
He pauses. “I guess it has to happen no ending is ever
happy.” He throws a book at the wall and rubs his brow.
“Man, I got to see if Bastok can find anything about
Triman plans or get him to get out of Brimstone.
That was my mistake to bring him here. I thought that it
could help him to make him more of what he needs to
become. Man, crap.” He thought. Michael goes out of the
room to look at
the time of the day and he finds a
clock on the kitchen wall. “Crap its two o’clock. I better go
to bed.” He thought. The next day Michael wakes up
from sleeping and wonders what to do the next day. He
looks at the screen where he logged out of the game.
“Crap, its just a game.
What the hell. It can only get better right? He
thought as he gets up and stretches and walks out of the
room.
Michael goes out to the kitchen to make
breakfast and then he heads out to work. Later that day he
gets back
and goes to the kitchen and gets a glass of
milk. “Time is just eating at me. I must know what
happens to Bastok. Crap!” he thought. Michael goes to
his room and thinks
of a brilliant plan to asunder the
situation. “I will make
this right. I must for any of this to
make sense. He said as serious as a cat in heat. With his
breath on the keyboard he logs back into the world of
Castern.
“Now, it is time you be seeing the boss here.” The
guard
said to Bastok while he was gripping him even
more
tightly. “If it’s my time, then it shall be a cup
worth.”
Bastok said. The guard looks confused and
laughs vigorously at the sight of Bastok. “There will be no
more of that rich life you used to live here.” The guard
takes him
up stone stairs that seem to reach and
wrap around a
circular hallway. The hallway is not
even wide enough for
three people to pass. The smell of
a rainy night is still in
the air, and the breath of the
guard is even more
wretched than last nights meal of
garlic and onions. “Okay here we rest. We ‘ve got a long
way up and it’s a
long way down.” The guard mutters to
the other guard carrying Bastok.
Bastok looks as if he must have lost all of his friends
and the shattered world of losing friends for money and
power. Bastok speaks utterly to the guards while they
rest. “You may have taken my pride and my will to fight.
However, I am still in your gutless since of existence. Do
you serve one that is taken pride to your skills of labor?
There is much more than your labor of life. Do you not
know the fields and how they squander with the need of
the harvest?” Bastok looks at the two guards and opens his
hands.
The two guards look at Bastok because he has
something
to say to them. The guards marvel at even a
prisoner of
theirs speaking on their behalf. Bastok
slowly rises and
then quickly falls but he looks up. “I
know your pain and
the wonder of the land. I can feel
the intense feel of the silver and brass at your hands
clasp. I
want to understand your purpose as to feel as
the birds in the
trees. The fresh pine at the scent of
your will and the breath of new beauty at your feet. I
want you to feel the
warmth of that and the amount of
humidity in your mind that can atone with the newly
found grapes of parody for
the sakes of your soul.”
Bastok head falls and transcends to his side. “I speak
because I am with you and here is the now.” The guards
start to feel the message said and slowly grip Bastok but
now see him as a follower of themselves more so then a
creature of the night. “Aye I don’t know what you said
prisoner, but I am bound to tell you that was a good
speech.” HA. The guard chuckles. The other guard wipes a
tear that has shed down his face and mutters some
words. “Aye was a good speech. Meanwhile in the agony
of the moment back near the river. A lone woman of some
stature stares at the water that is now flowing of fish and
animals. The woman looks abroad across the river and
marvels at the amount of
senseless tides of the water.
She looks at the people that can now fish and be merry
to see the water. The water is a
sparkle and the purity
of the people. Or so they say.
“Bastok, why did this happen? Here once you were here
and now time has taken you from us. That time was for
Fin. I no longer want to be recognized for this. She said to
herself. A boy recognizes her and tries to cheer her up.
“Are you not happy do you miss the water its so fun!” The
boy shivers
with gladness to be held close to her. “Yes, it
is fun, the water. But boy did you not know where the
water came from?” The boy looks confused and shakes
his small head in front of her. “I know you do not know
the story of the water but I do.” She said. She grips her
hands and her
mask over her eyes falls to the ground
ever so lightly. The mask is drifted by the wind and falls
into the water. She arises with the boy and understands
the duty she must do.
The lone woman thrives on her
fears and devours here blindness in cries. The boy does
not understand why the lone woman begins to cry and
runs to the side of the shore to meet others. “There is
nothing that I want more than to be once more held by
Him.” She stares and mutters some
words of
encouragement. “I will not let Triman win this
one. I
want to make this right and set forth on the journey.
She
goes pale and the sight of her eye cringes in the day.
JOURNEY INTO THE MIND OF THANLEEN…
“Where am I? What is this? It’s cold and black
LOGGING INTO ANOTHER REALM…
The screen displays a bright light and asked a question.
-Are you going to talk to Thanleen? Michael looks at the screen. “What the heck”? “Oh, it’s the
other realm to actually talk to the other characters. Crap I
was reading about this, but I did not know that I could
actually do this.
--type words of encouragement-BEGIN – 5:00 minutes
Thanleen> Its so cold and dark. Is someone there?

Michael> Hello Thanleen. I know you and I have

Seventeen is going on.

Thanleen> What? I don’t believe you. Your lying.
Why can’t I see you?
Michael> Thanleen listen to me. You can’t see

your own purpose. Only then can you change and

accepted me.” Michael said.

becomes dust once more to the land of Castern. By the

there. I am not sure if I can even asunder that place for the
birth of this woman.” He said with a low esteem
willingness thought.
Ch.2 A pleading Victory
The guards in Brimstone finally achieve the insane
climb to the top of the tower. “Cahoo, oh that is just to far.
I've got to rest these legs. That is just too high for me to
climb.” He said. Bastok’s arm loosens and the guard lets go
and falls to the ground, as to be exhausted from the climb.
“You, yere gonna have to go in and see Triman yourself.
We guards just can’t get over the climb. Go prisoner.
Speak for us like you did down there.” He said.
Bastok looks at him and agrees to go on. The door is a
great door. The door to the top of the tower is marveled.
There is an inscription by the door, and it reads “Some
may enter but all must fail one day. I wonder what that
means. Entering this place must be some ordeal or
chalice to win. He said. As Bastok opens the door. A
shutter of wind rushing out and the presence of steel and
sweat enters Bastok’s nostrils. He walks a little way but
feels as if he is being watched. “Ah, Bastok, you have
finally arrived.” Fin said. Bastok looks at the way Fin
smiles and smirks. “Fin, I don’t understand you or your
ways.” Bastok shifts his countenance against Fin. Fin is
now looking at Bastok and talking to him like he was
taking bad medicine. “Well, you see this is your destiny
and if I had not said something then they would have
executed you anyway. He said.
Fin gets up on a chair and measures the air. “And now it is
time you met the one behind the war of the Quadronians
and the path of the righteous. This is a great man of
opportunity but be still because he is excited, you’re here.
He said while grinning. Bastok investigates the other parts
of the room and feels a swift shiver of wind cool his body
to the point of coldness. “As I am here. I lay myself to the
mercy of the seat of one for a time. But only for a time.”
Bastok said. Bastok leaves fin as he walks to the corridor
that is
now in sight of him and wonders at the pillars that
are stacked by each other.
“Leave us Fin. Your duty is done for now. I no longer need
your pitiful service to me.” Fin looks determined to say
something but keeps it in himself for now. “Lord Triman. I
am pitiful in your sight. I will go now. He said. Bastok
finally sees this man of a bright accountancy. He is no
bigger than five feet of the wall. He looks as if he could
care less of the world, but his eyes are a inigma that even
Bastok cannot understand.
He walks with a rhythmed beat and he talks as if he could
be by a thousand
seas. “Bastok, it is your name. I know of
your maker. This
place he put you here.” Bastok looks
confused and does not understand anything that Triman
has said. “Do not be tested Bastok. This maker of yours. I
know of this maker. I know why you were put here.
Don’t judge me on what I know. I have longed been
trapped here much more than you.” Triman utters
words of deluge and speaks a foreign language. Triman
cracks his neck and decides that Bastok is confused of
everything. Bastok speaks but his words only hurt Triman.
“I only know of the love of the one that
made me of
this accustomed world. I only know of the love of
the
people. That I can trust. I only know of the love of
the
joy of the perishable and the sainted one. I only know of
the love of the gutter less guards that carried me here.”
Bastok last word is silenced. “Stop speaking. Shut the
Seventeen up. Love Ugh. Those words harm me. I do not
want to hear of the Love. I only want the LAW of the land
to confess itself to me and grow to control it. Triman gets
closer to Bastok and raises his forearm to the ceiling.
“The beauty of the law has only one meaning to me. In
time the law will be what runs you here. You will only
know the law of Brimstone, Quadronian, and Gomorrah
law. Bastok looks at him even more sternly.
“But law without love is not governed by any nation. Law
without thought of compassion is useless without people
to understand the good will of nature of the Seventeen.
Triman falls as to be sick and decides that Bastok is but a
child in his own stature. “Law, that is the will of the
people. We must fight for the law of the land. I only know
law and the way the system of the promised land of the
Law of the land of Brimstone. Triman calls to Bastok to
pick up a sword. Triman eyes grow from fear to wrath.
“Pick up your rapier and fight with me. I can only measure
the strength of you as you fought with me.” He says with a
clash of steel.
“Here take thy Sword.” Bastok has not even used a sword
before but he tries to repel against the slashes of Triman.
“Mere child. You do not understand the Law just yet and
let me parry that for you and strike you at your heart. He
said. Bastok sways and parries one of the
slashes that gracefully comes from the hand of Triman.
The two meet swords face to face. Triman speaks to him as
he is gradually falling to the ground. “Love is conquered
by law and the way here is only law. I bid you farewell
Bastok as you barely know the trade of the Gladiator. Go
find your love there. Ha that will be the day as the beast
battle you will lose your love.
Triman eyes roll and glow with thunder accountance and
a huge compelling blast comes forth to push Bastok
several feet from within themselves. “Remember Bastok
that law is governed by love or I would never be here.
Learn the ways of the Gladiator and make that sword
sharp. Then one day use it on me if you dare.” He said.
Bastok gets up with a loose sword in his hand and talks
earnestly to Triman. “I will come back and heal your soul
of the Law of the land and heal your love. Bastok lifts his
hand but Triman grabs his hand and stammers it
downward. “Heal me one day with love.” Triman vomits
and loses his concentration. “That will never happen. You
will have to fall in love and be true to her as well as
consume my hatred and rid the land of the law of
Brimstone. I cannot see that happening and
then
what of the LAW of the land. Triman shouts and leaves Bastok.
“No never the law of this land is too great to
be ignored.” Bastok leaves the chambers of Triman and
tries to rid himself of the law that tries to govern him in
his mind. “Oh, the agony its way to powerful. The law is
what is governed here. People are compelled with the law
here. Bastok speaks quietly and tries to quite the voices of
the law. Fin looks at Bastok by the door that he once came
through.
“See Bastok you cannot fight the law of the land or
Triman.” The law is being beaten in your head and
agony is your best friend here. Bastok looks at fin but can
barely see him. “Oh, don’t worry that voice in your head
will be there because Triman wills it to be there.” Fin looks
at him and gets by his side. “Its is because of this law that I
can easily over power you. So here you go Bastok have a
happy life while being here. HA Fin pushes Bastok out the
door and whims a punch to the stomach. Bastok falls to
the ground and gourds the ground. Bastok’s mind is
constantly being warned and reminded of the law of the
land. Bastok opens and closes his eyes while smirking on
the ground.
The Law of the land is too much to be attained and he
passes out against the cold stone floor. The smell of fish
fills the air and the presence of water has vanquished the
long night of slumber. A lone teenager of the age of
seventeen runs through a village. The village is high above
the water. The lone teenager smiles briskly at the sun. Is
this the infamous lady who fought bravely amongst the
trial of the Beezelebub cave? Wait. No this must be a
beginning. The teenager reaches over and says “Im
hungry. I’m so hungry and I will think of that another
time. The sky is filled with a bluish yellow sky and the air
taste like salty misty seas. This is the time of boats and
fishers of men. The time of small shops and busy
merchants. “Im free. Now I am going to fight the big
pirates of the Voose.
Talia squints with one eye and closes the other as she
jumps to save the pilgrimage in her mind. “Ah you see I’m
here to talk to the Voose and get them loose from their
own goose.” She said as she laughs at the thought of
someone defeated her and her crew. “See Mate, now I am
going to let you loose Voose.” She said. She points a sword
to the dummy stalk and pretends it somehow talks back.
“Now Lord of the Voose. Let me tell you what we do with
prisoners.” She scorns with a smiling smirk of deviance.
“You could walk the plank, but I have more for you to do
than walk your death squawk.” She mutters to the stalk.
She points her sword of brass steel to the stalk and lifts one
hand to the air. She looks mustardy to the stalk and says.
Dinner time Talia. She hears from the other side of the
village. Huh, aw man! We will continue you this Voose
later, but first I must eat something asunder. HA.” She
stammers off the box she was standing on and let’s loose
of the broken brass sword she was holding.
Talia runs ever so gracefully to the end of the high planks
that settle into an array of little huts built together. She
runs swiftly and jumps to the sky to the rope hanging on
one of the huts. “I’m coming mom.” She said to the air as
she jumps down while swinging in the air like a circus
tight rope act does. She looks for her well -known Hut
and keens an eye to the smoke arising in her kitchen.
“Mom, I was battling the Voose again. I have to hurry.” She
said. Talia’ mother looks at her and playfully agrees. “The
Voose can wait till the captain can eat something good.
Talia, I don’t know why you play like that. I want.” Talia
stops her in her sentence.
“Aw mom. Not again with the good girl routine. She says
while looking at her mother with a downed eye of guilt.
“Talia, its for your own good. You need to stop thinking of
saving the world and start trying to think of ways to get
boys to want to marry you. She says while getting some
soup to eat. “Mom, I don’t want to do that. I need the
adventure mom and I can do it all. Most boys just want to
kiss and ugh. She shakes her head and looks disgusted
with her mom. “Talia, Talia Renton. You’re going to like it
even though your not the right age yet. She stops with a
breath under her lip.
“You know, you’re right. You should start looking at boys.
But I remember a Captain Jack-A-lot coming to the
Shining lighthouse the other day. She says to Talia
playfully. “Wait, what mom? What did you say? She said
while chocking on a bowl of soup. “Captain Jack-A-lot
was in town? Here? Mom…” she said while looking at her
mom with an even more interesting look. “Yes, but you
have no time for boys or men dear. Ah, isn’t that what you
said earlier to me. She smiles with a grin to her. “Yeah but
mom that was ancient years ago in a minute. With
Captain Jack-A-lot in town. Oh, I have time for him. She
said. While gulping her soup down and looking eyed in
the face. Her mom looks at her and realizes the humor in
her well being of Captain Jack-A-lot. “Well finish your
dinner and tomorrow you might get to meet him. Ah a
little or not? She said while biting her own lip. Talia looks
entrusted as an iron bar looks as you hammer an anvil to a
table. Talia’s eyes wonder about the time she would meet
a real pirate captain. She wonders if she would be a
stowaway on a ship too one day. “Okay mom well I got to
go beat up and torture the Voose again. I’ll be back when
the clock is on the nat. she said. Talia’s mom looks
confused and just shakes her head at her little girl who is
really confused of her own language and her thinking.
Talia runs back and stands on her ground to get to the
very spot she encountered her battle with the Voose and
their captain. “Man, I could meet a real Captain one day.
Or maybe tomorrow. Yeah, I’ll go meet him tomorrow at
the Shining lighthouse. Wait, grr I’m not old enough to be
there.
Well that may be, but I will show up any ways. Just watch.
“she said to herself while
picking up the broken brass
sword. “Now to torture and tie up that Captain from the
Voose.” She exclaimed with a voice that was about as
thrilled as a high-pitched sea gull. The night settles in
the gleaming day and the stars brightly are shone on the
vast blue sea. The village of Gomorra sits in the dim of the
night air and gleams in the valley of the bay. You can see
lights in the huts and the emptiness of the ever-moving
sea beneath them. Talia’s mom gets her cup of tea for bed,
while Talia runs through battle scenes in her head of the
Voose and her ship mates. “Night mom, I will go with you
to the Shining lighthouse tomorrow.” She said. Talia’s
mom looks to her and smiles. “Oh, Okay dear. Good night
then. We shall see tomorrow.” She said while turning her
little oil lamp out. Talia snuggles in her canopy type bed.
The next day the sun rises, and the small village of
Gomorra also rises. The sea pushes the sound of her
ocean to the pier of the Shining lighthouse and we hear
the chatter of small children or Gomorra’s waking up.
“Hey, me wakes up here. “a small Gomorra said. “Get the
Seven off me hey!! The two Gomorra’s are waking up
and scratching their small bellies of purple.
“You think the boss is coming early today. The small
Gomoraa said to the other. “not sure gold foot. He might
be in laters.” He said. The two Gomorra’s get up out of
somewhat bed they had and go to try to open the bar. A
sign is high in the sky of the place as they open the door of
the Shining lighthouse. The wind carries in the scent of
fish and ale. The place is empty but smells like a
fragrance of honey and mint. “You want to get that mop
and I’ll start shoving the bar around. Gold foot said to the
other. The bar is like no other bar that has been opened
before. You can see Arcadia wood and silver all around.
The chairs are made of fine wood from the shores of
Mier. Oh, the shores of Mier that is about as wonderful as
they say. You can never get too far from the shores of
Mier. Well that is another story for another time and
about as far and apart as they go. The two Gomoraa’s
look at each other and sit around and wait as they go
around the bar and start shining the silver plates. Some of
the customers start to appear and they look as they have
been shipped out their shape. “So, the one mop said to
the other chad. Hey! You are looking for that rooting.”
“I suspect that the other chad had a well-mannered
meeting with my hands in the gully. HA! Two customers
that usually join at a table and start discussing their own
business of their own trade are talking to each other. “so, I
said.
Try the gallery you Scud! That is the
day. He said while dusting off
but I’m
way of the
the table. “So sorry lad
the point of the bay.” The other said. “I really
need be going my way if I only had the hay of the day. He
said. “you don’t say.?” The other said. “Yeah heres the
way. I told him the other day. Really need to get going
here and try to sway.” The other said to another. “what
talks are here? I be willing if your willing. ”Another
customer lets out a huge laugh of gluttony. The three men
are chatting
and talking of times they had on while at
sea. So only
the people of the sea know the language
of the sea. There seems to be some missing verbs and
sentence structures, but well only people of the sea are
like minded of the sea. Or so they say. “What say you sir.
I said to him and gave him a good blinding jim.” One said
to the other. “I think I shall have a mead for the deed. Oh,
let me liquor.” He lauged at the other while the two other
men staggered for a thought. “so, I says. Make me a
blonker and I’ll give you that wonker.” He said. “Wait,
Blart you did nt say that. Fat flunker. I’s knew you were
one. HA! After win is the hen’s wife going to ever win her
over in the da den.” He said to the other.
Hens den? Sire I must ablidge that the coffee is old
man. HA! The other laughs at the other as they seem to
be enjoying the jokes of one another. A sound of the wind
announces a familiar face. The men look about chin high
and see a captain approaching. The men stare at each
other with their mead and stand up to greet this man. “Aye
Gold foot!” the bar Gomorrah said to the other. The two
Gomorrah look at each other and shake their shoulders.
“This place er, it be wretched, and it will take a captain of
the sea to be straightening her out.” He said. He draws his
brass and gold muzzle and puts it on his back over his
feather hat.
“Captain of the sea” the crowd of men say while
standing. “Who is your captain?” the man in the feather
hat says to the men. He slowly stands in front of them and
crosses his arm. “Who be our captain?” one of
the men
slouches and asked another man. “I heard that sloth.”
The man with the feather hat said. He then draws his
sword and points a blade to the man’s shirt to the top of
his neck. His sword is fine steel from the shores of mier
and looks as if it could cut steel. The man with the feather
hat laughs at the man and takes him by the shoulders as to
hug him and whispers. “it be Captain Jack-a-lot!” he said.
while pushing the man to a table and dancing a song
only he knew. “Now then, all you mad dogs. Drinks round
the house or be nothing on me! He said with a massive
thunder of a voice. The men stop at their will and begin to
cheer and go to the bar.
Ch.3 Another Sail
“Talia, wait for me, dear.” She says to her. “Mom, your
slower than a slimy snail.” She said. “You’ll get lost
Talia.” She said to Talia. Near the shining lighthouse the
two women get to a point of Gomorrah that is still a way
to the bar. They are dressed as any Gomorrah would be. A
small white blouse with some ugly trousers and clog shoes
that don’t even fit their own feet. “Come on Mom! We are
almost there.” Talia said as she disengages her mother and
speeds on. “Talia, wait for me.” She said.
Talia goes on ahead. She is so excited to see a real
captain and what adventures may await her. She travels
with even more speed and sees the sign. She hears sounds
of bustling, and loud men talking about the sea. She enters
the bar and sees two Gomorrah’s that look identical
working. Talia’s eyes stare at the sight of the bar as it is
already filled with captains and ship mates.
She wonders if the captain “Jack-a-lot” is nearby or see
can see a glance
of him. She hears her mom in the
distance and lets out a sigh. Talia wonders if she can ask
captain Jack-a-lot about handling the Voose. She starts to
walk as casual as she can and a very rude ship mate that
is dressed like a dripping anvil approaches her. “Aye,
what you be doing in here lass? He said abruptly. Before
she could speak Talia gets interrupted by the shipmate.
“Looky here boys what the cat drug in. She doesn’t look
like much but tuh well like her to the scrub board. Aye!
The shipmates turn around at the bar and begin to look at
Talia like a piece of meat or something they once
knew. Aye!! They say with their beers and ale clinking
each other.
Talia is stopped and despite her awe that she was
recognized so fast. She gets startled and jumps on the
bar and says. “I may not be much now but what till I get
my own crew and then I will sail and let you
know who the new captain is.” She said while pointing to
the shipmates at the bar. “now, there’s a lass you don’t
be seeing so much.” Some of the shipmates said. “What be
your name lass?” one of the shipmates asked.
“Talia, Talia of the sea of Mier. She said with her
nose up high. The shipmates laughed as they hear her say
her words. “There be no sea of Mier. There are only the
shores of Mier that I know of. They all said to her.
“Aye!” the shipmates drink to their words. “Talia! Talia
Renton, you get down from the bar now. I mean it
NOW!” Talia mom said. “Oh, crap of the Seventeen my
mom is here.” She said while getting down off the bar.
“What were you thinking being up there, Talia.” She said.
“Mom, I was uh, just, hmm….” She said. Talia gets lost in
thought and she can not explain her attitude because
moms don’t understand the world of the Voose, or that
sort of thing. “Talia, I swear I wish your father was here.
He could get some sense in your head.” She said to her
loudly. “What seems to be all the fuss here maam’s. This is
a bar and well we all have a good time. No need for the
swearing and cursing.” He said. Talia’s mom looks up at
the strange captain and her eyes startle. “You see maam’s
we fight long and hard on the sea and when we need rest
and drink, we go here and enjoy our company. No matter
what we feel. We feel that t everyone deserves a chance to
enjoy life once.” He said. The young captain looks at Talia
on his left side and wonders what life would be like to be
so small and young again. “Um, sir, well I really like your
hat. It has my favorite feathers. Talia said to him
pleadingly. “Talia, do you know who this is? Talia’s mom
said. “wow maam’s I completely forgot about that sort of
manner. Being on the sea and all. I’m known as “Captain
Jack-a-lot, at your service. He said cheeringly. He then
bends downward and places one leg in front of the other
and does a slow bow with a lift of his hat and protrudes it
down to his leg.
“Oh, so like Jack-o-lantern, kinda like that sir. She said
laughingly. “No not any of the sort. I’m not a fairy tale, or
a memory of a ghoul. He said while looking at her
laughingly. “More like Jack, laugh a lot. HA!! He said to
her while dancing a familiar dance. Talia looks at the
captain and wonders about her question to him.
“Talia, I’m going to go find a table to sit at and well
order something.” Talia’s mom said to her. “Okay mom,
I’m gonna uh?” she said while gazing in Captain Jack-a-
lot eyes. “So, you be wanting to sail with us missy?” he
said to her while looking at his crew. “I tell ya the sea is
not nice and well it takes a special one of nature to get
where we be going.” He said while rubbing his brow.
Talia cannot help but to be in awe of the captain. He was
about five nine with crisp blue eyes and a pompadour
hairstyle. He swayed to the side to a beat that no one had
ever seen or laid eyes on. Could Talia sail with this
character of the sea. “Now let’s be getting to business.”
The Captain hurls at Talia like a person trying to
catch a greasy pig and plunges his sword in the table.
Just like the straight and narrow of the way the table sits.
Talia’s eyes wonder in curiosity and quiver of the
broad sword in the table. “If you be so kind to join us in
our crude escapade. Then your gonna must look like the
men on the first day and see I have to treat you like the
men and try to be merry. HA!” he said. The men around
him give out a loud roar and say “Yar”. “Wait so if I join
you on this escapade to whatever place your going.” She
said while jumping on the table and casually walking
around the sword. “Than I will be your first mate?” she
said excitingly. “My what? Um madam. Your asking too
much on the first day. “NO! your gonna be swabbing the
decks sir. Cause there aint be no woman on my deck your
not a lady to me.
You’re a low-class deck swabber. First day mate? He
said to her. Captain Jack-a-lot then pulls out his fine
broad sword out of the table and pushes Talia to the floor
and smiles. Talia looks mad and falls downward on the
floor in a upright position. “But,” she says. Captain Jacka-lot swiftly puts his sword back into his scabbard and
then says. “Second day you be using swords to fight the
crew. You gotta learn how to stand on your own to feet
you know.” He said to her. He then turns his back to her
and says, “If you be wanting the job we leave early morn
and the adventure awaits my dear.
” Talia rolls her eyes and looks rudely with her legs
crossed on the floor. “What if I don’t want the job then?”
she says smirky. “Then no harm done my dear.” He than
leaves her presence and gathers at the bar with his men.
Ch. 4 Bastok breaks
“A deep dungeon is where you will be. So deep they
will have to throw away the key and then be done with
you.” A soldier says to Bastok who looks like he is still
phased with a delay of the faint memory of the encounter
of Triman. “My dear Bastok.” Now here is a familiar voice.
Yes, it is I Sir Fin of Brimstonia. I must teach you now the
ways of the Gladiator. Oh well, it is Triman who has
ordered me to do such things to you.” He said.
Bastok awakes a little and says. “You, you’re the
one that is going
to train me?” he says with all he could
muster. “Yes, well I suppose I will have to. Although we
did get through Quadronia together and I got you here.
Did I not? So, I would be the perfect equation to your
misery. HA ha he said as he mustered a little laugh and
dance. “Take this filth to cell 007 and make sure this one
is clean. We shall start tomorrow with what would be a
small dagger.
The boy cannot start with a sword until he has
mastered the dagger. You know about that and what a
ordeal. Your hands are much too soft to handle anything
less.
Now let me see those pitiful hands of your bastok. Bastok
unfolds his hands and he look at them. No, no this will not
do.” He says as he hits them with a iron rod as hard as he
can. “No no this will not do at all. Too many good bones
here. He said.
Bastok’s eyes grow with fury and burn with fire as he
looks at Fin. “Five more hours of beating these hands. Now
does this hurt?” he says as he looks at Bastok. Hold him
sirs. Fin says swiftly to the guards. “Tell me Bastok does
this hurt much? He picks up his finger and tries to break
it. Bastok lets out a roar of pain. “Yes, it is painful but then
the life of a Gladiator is much more painful. First lesson
Bastok you will feel pain until you feel no pain at all. He
says to him.
“Now get him out of my sight and so he must rest, but
then after three hours beat his hands again.” Fin orders the
guards to do so. Bastok cringes and falls to the ground
and collapses. The guards look at Bastok and wonder but
they know he did nothing wrong. Bastok is carefully taken
to the underground cell where the rest of the gladiators
are kept. They take him to the cell and look at him lying
on the floor.
“Hey, what have you their sir? Someone said.
“Nothing of the likes that you will like. The guards said. A
great big ogre of a man surrounds Bastok. He looks at him
and cracks his neck. Well he looks strange. “Yeah well
Fin ordered him here and this is where he will stay. The
guards muttered to the Ogre. Bastok looks half dead and
his hands are bruised and somewhat broken. The Ogre
looks at him and feels some warmth. “Well they will be
back but what will you do. What can you do?” the Ogre
whispered to him. The underground cell is dark but cool
at the touch. You feel a sense of death in the air and smell
rotten dark meat. The place that Bastok is held looks and
smells like the warmest place there is.
The cell is about five foot by twelve and even if you
walk enough you can make it quite warm. Bastok lays on
the floor shuddering inside. The shock of the situation
has brought his body temperature to a brilliant ice
feeling. He falls into half a
sleep but is still half awake.
Bastok’s eye is quivering of the
cold hard ground and
remembers the warmth of the sun as he was walking here.
“I came to this, but this Is not what I had expected. The
one’s that lead me here are now gone. I fear that the time
of my death may approach, but what have I to live for?
Now that I know that the one’s I trusted did fear me and
took my life into their hands. What do I have now, but the
rot of the floor and the coldness of the cell. What am I?
why have I become this part of the floor? To engage the
silence of this cold world? I have once stood on my leg and
appeared to the dusk of this place. To be a part of this
brutality. This is not me. I am not of this place of cold and
rottened flesh. So, I master the grace of the cold brutal
world that I do not choose to live in. I am not of this
ground nor do I father this. I am alive and well to my
nature. I am to live and not die into the harshness of the
intensity of the total mind. To go I say for I live for
another day. Love has cherished me once and I began to
play. I falter the ways of the human kind that altered my
being and thus say. No, not ever again. I shall never trust
the hand that feeds me be. I will play the sword that I
cannot hold.” He said as he stammers around to keep
warm.
“I will not justify my own with this way. I will turmoil in
my life to repay. Why, why have you taken my life to this
O’ tragedy. Why, must I rally in this portray? Will not
someone get me out of this? Can not the Gods of the
Seventeen hear me I pray? Please say yes and let me
out this day. I want my life back, but I am abused to my
will to pray. I want my life back. I do. My love is not true
to bars that have been stained with the blood of men that
need not be afraid. This does not exist, and I do not let it be
this day. He said. The bars of the cell shudder and the
sight of the cell is thundered with calamity. The steel
begins to bend and the material withers away. “Friend,
who are you that can make bars go away? The Ogre said.
“I am Bastok Iamtheone and this day the bars will not hold
thee or me. Come let us be away! Nor does this man who
will bind me and take my life away. I will confront those
hands and make you answer the will of the fray. I will
enter your mind and tell you. I will not suffer this way!
Ever!
Bastok touches the liquid of the bars that seem like they
melt as butter. The bars melt into a puddle of mass and the
mass seeps to the ground. “Friend who are you? That can
do this? Can you do this for me as well? The Ogre cannot
understand the intensity of the melted bars. The material
of the bars could not hold him. “I want to be free like you
BASTOK!” The Ogre begins to shout to him. Make me free
also. Do not forget me. He said prancingly to Bastok.
Bastok looks in his direction and with deep eyes and
concern reaches out with his hands and touches the ogre’s
hand.“Friend, you just have to only believe in me. No bars
can hold you where I’m going and no material on Castern
will ever be between you and me. The bars shudder and
melt in a pool of iron material. “Friend, I will follow you
all the days of my life and until I die. I will remember your
name.” the Ogre said. “My life is not to end here, and
neither shall yours come with me and help me lead others
to this way.” He said with great authority.
Ch.5 A Captain is he.
Talia and her mother go to the sea harbor and see a
great big sail. “Mom, it’s the Voose looking ship.” She said.
“What, that is what you were playing with at home?” she
said. “No, well it was a bit smaller.” She said. Talia runs to
the edge of the harbor and tries to welcome the big ship to
harbor. The ship is about three football fields and sways in
the harbor like a fine clipper ship. The sails are three of
the ship, but the flag is not present.
“Ahoy Captain. There she be Gomorrah. The crow
nest shipmate said. “All hands. Now hear me out. Easy Mr.
Sketcher. Reel her in as easy as you can. We have a long
journey ahead of us. We will need all the help of another
crew to maintain this vessel. Captain Jack-a-lot said with
a stern look to the harbor. Talia looks at the massive ship
and stares at the boat with great enthusiasm. “Mom, you
can go now. Your just wasting time. She said.
“Talia, I just want to know that I want you to be safe
and have a safe journey. She said to her like it was her last
visit. “Ah mom come on. Enough with that, I will be okay
and junk. Ugh. Talia said to her while trying to look for
the entrance to the boat. “Set her right here Mr. Sketcher.
This is good stop. Lower the sails. man, the anchor. He said
to the crew very excitingly. “Look out here she comes over
the board men. Easy on the ground. Don’t break that
board. Heave ho! The board that goes across the ship to
the edge of the dock is big and sturdy. The men put it
down like they had done that all their life. “Easy men. We
must see what is on land. So, I want you on your best
behaviors and then. We drink! YAR! Ha-ha. He said to
them very wasted.
The men gather one another and go to the board and go
over the dock and laugh and walk like they have a broken
leg. “I forgot how to walk I’ve been walking the sea most
the time. Me hardy. Ha-ha” he said. Talia looks at the men
coming to the dock and with big eyes she imagines herself
on the sea with the captain. She thinks to herself. I bet the
Voose are easier to handle than the ones Captain Jack-alot can handle. She sees captain Jack-a-lot coming down
from the ship.
The ship is about two hundred yards in width and about
as far as Talia can see going up. She is very excited to be
almost aboard the ship. The Captain makes his way to the
side of the dock and looks for someone. “Gentlemen, I feel
a wind approaching the downward port. Rough waters
ahead. I think” he said with a sly little smirk. Just then
Talia pops out from behind her hiding place and steps
lively as a sailor is full attention. “I’m ready to get to sea
captain.” She says with a swift salute of her two fingers.
She figures there is salute or greeting. The captain looks at
her and appears lost. “Yes, well come aboard as we have
others that will join in this jolly wang.” He said while
looking somewhat mad at her.
She looks curious as to wave good bye to her mother as
she looks her off. “Bye Mom, I will be back for supper. She
waves at her. Hearing this the men on the ship laugh and
fall. “She only thinks she will be back for supper.” The
crew heave some cargo up the mast and keep on working
till sun down. Talia walks aboard and sees a dingy ship
that has a foul smell. One of the crew members says. “You
new lass. Okay its time you start doing your part. Get to
washing that scabbard. You! Now! Talia looks excited and
grabs a scrub brush and some buckets.
“Wow my first job. I cannot wait till I can give the
orders next time. Talia starts to scrub the first board and
then the board appears to have a yellow green mossy
texture. She seems irritated that it does not come out.
She begins to scrub harder and harder. This is no longer
fun as some of the green yellow colored boards do not
seem to get clean. She walks to get more water down the
deck. Talia enters a very small but binding hallway that
seems to only fit two people in the walkway. She thinks
that it is very small to even fit through the opening. She
hears two crew members shouting at each other. They
seem to be fighting over something that is being cooked.
“Look, Romero. You messed up the sauce. It needs more of
this here Basil. He said to the other. “No, no, no this is the
way it is always for the captain. I will not have you ruin
this perfectly good sauce. This way. He says to the other.
Talia finally enters the small but crowded kitchen
area and looks at the two of them arguing over this. The
two crew members seem to wear a white outfit with black
shoes. One of the men wears a small hat that keeps falling
while he talks. The kitchen is small but has purpose. The
counter is only as big, as a regular table size of four foot.
The sink is no bigger than two widths to a pot. Everything
has a place but where does it all fit. Talia looks at the two
in amazement. They do not recognize her at first. They
start slinging salt shakers to themselves while talking.
“The captain doesn’t like uh too much salt. You gotta keep
out of the salt Romero.
The two cooks keep arguing and then one of them
throws a shaker towards Talia. Talia ducks and looks over
her shoulder. “Hey, you buffoons you almost hit me she
stammers to them. She stands upright and looks at them as
if they were a bad piece of meat. “Hey Romero, look at
what the cat drug in. Yeah how bout that? You think she is
a stowaway. The two cooks look at each other and laugh.
“Enough, now you see Romero this needs to be like
this. And here we go. Excuse, me my dear the captain is
wanting dinner immediately. This is just a meal he needs
for this amount of time.” He said to her. Talia looks at
them in wonder and smells a wonderful odor of sauce and
chili. She wonders if she can have some also. She is
starting to get a little hungry. “Romero, I will bring in the
appetizer. Let’s go if we are late than I don’t know what to
think. He says to the other. Okay get ready. I’m uh
coming.” He says. The two cooks look at each other and
lift a small platter up to their shoulder height and walk
out with some dishes. Talia begins to look at what they are
doing and follows them through a big wooden door
marked Captains den.
Inside the Captain’s den the two cooks look
immediately at the captain who is looking at a map and
using utensils or tools to guide a way through the map. “If
I go this way. I will be in a heap of trouble. I hate that way.
No, I will go another way. Of course. He says while
looking at the yellow filled map of a land. The two cooks
look at each other and slightly bend forward by the
captain and say. “This is tonight’s specialty captain. I hope
you like. He bends further and slowly rises to put his
appetizer on the table. The table where the captain is
sitting is about eight foot in length, but only has one chair.
The table is about as clean as a piece of wood can get.
However, the marks of the table seem to show that there
might have been a bad storm. The ship starts to tip, and
the two cooks hold onto their plates.
Talia is stunned as the ship seems to move for the first
time and begins to tip her sideways. The captain speaks as
he looks at Talia. “First time on a ship. Well you will get
used to her as she sails into your life. Ain’t that right mate.
He says while eyeing the two cooks. The two cooks look at
him and agree with a serious gesture. “Now then what
brings you to my quarters Talia. I don’t remember inviting
you but maybe I did. I seem to forget if I did what I started
yesterday but nowadays. I’m likely to humiliate myself
from letting you on our adventure.
Talia looks at the captain with smoochy eyes and
wonders where he began before his conversation ended.
She mustered words that even the captain does not
hear. He Looks at her and says. “No that is not the way
here you must address me as your captain and say Captain
permission to speak. Then I will calmly allow you to speak
if you amuse me enough.” He says to her. “Let us begin
again and this time I will go first. It is just better for me to
talk and you to listen. Then I will decide how to address
the proper response. You see it is always like that here,
and so now I must address my crew to you. He said with a
whip of his voice as if he rehearsed the words somewhere
in a play.
Now miss, may I call you that or do you have a last name.
I always address my crew with a proper last name as
always, your captain is addressed as Captain Jack-a-lot sir.
Talia looks at him and shyly steps back. “My two cooks are
Romero and Pears. Please allow them to talk as they are in
a hurry for their next approach to me.” He said while
looking at them sternly. “Ahem, now Captain Jack-a-lot.
We have here is a somewhat masterpiece in the kitchen
that we prepared.” Romero says to him. He puts the dish
down very quickly but with authority. The captain looks at
him. “Does it have the salt of the sea? Without the salt of
the sea. I do not want the dish. Take it away! Please. The
captain says to him.
The cook steps back and looks confused but does the
order and returns to the kitchen. “Yes, I seem to forget the
salt of the sea. Pears was distracting me from my duties
once again. Pears looks at the captain and then settles in
on his speech to him as well. “For the next dish for the
captain. I have prepared the very best sauce, and the pasta
is divine. He says while putting the dish to the captain’s
eyesight of where he is holding a map. “Ah Pears the smell
is like that of a sweet wine. You really must stop trying to
tempt me to eat so much. He says to Pears. “Yes, sir
captain. I am very happy you enjoy my dish. He says to
him as he leaves with a sigh of relief to his face. Talia
begins to laugh and snicker at the captain. “Yes, your
name is Renton, right. So, Mrs. Renton, this is the way and
if there is another way. I would not have it any other.
Now, please I must find a heading before my
navigator has no heading to go towards.” He says while
smelling his food. Talia stomach begins to growl.
“Sorry captain. I was working and very hungry, so I found
the kitchen here and wondered when it was time to eat.
The captain looks at her as if not to be bothered with his
concentrating. “You say your hungry. Miss Renton? He
said while looking at his plate of food. “I believe you better
drink on the first day, and no food till nigh is night. Or
you will have a bad night and day the next morn. That is
the way of the sea. So this is to be. He said to her. “Huh, she
said but I’m hungry. I’ve worked. He stops her and nods.
No, now I must find the navigational point of the
Mier island. I believe it best to abide by her shores. Mrs.
Renton. Kindly excuse yourself and leave me be. Thank
you. Talia looks at him as to be stumped by his response.
True to the sea. She says to herself. I’ll give him a true to
the see. She hums under her breath while walking out of
the Captains den. Talia carries her brush and bucket that
she was holding and goes by the kitchen. “I gotta eat
something. I’m starving. Wow! She said under her breath
as she passes one of the cooks. The one cook looks at her
and wonders what or why she is even in the kitchen.
Talia looks around and looks for a piece of fruit.
“Maybe if I eat a little. I won’t be so hungry, and then the
captain said to drink something. The ship begins to tip to
the side again, and the cooks grab the plates and hold the
kitchen as to seem routine. “Grab that plate Miss Renton.
before it falls, or it will be out of my paycheck from the
captain.” Talia drops her brush, and bucket and flies
forward to reach the falling plate and recovers the plate
from breaking on the ground. “Whew, that was close.”
She thought immediately. “wow very fast reflexives miss
Renton. That is some good moves. The two cooks are
impressed at Talia, as she gets up and says “yeah I’m pretty
good at things when they are in danger.
Not so good at this brush and mopping thing
though.” She smirks to them. She puts the gold-plated
plate on the counter and leaves the two cooks to argue
over the mess they seem to never clean. Talia walks very
sorely to the hallway, that connected with the top of the
deck. Instead of going right, she decides to go left this
time. She sees a very grim part of a light and follows this
to another part of the ship. It is very dark at this part of the
ship, and she can hear ship crew people. Talia starts
laughing, as they seem to be asleep. The crew is half on the
floor, and then some on the small Hancock made beds.
She quietly walks through the maze of beds, and
darkness. It is so dark, that the room seems to be just
moving by itself. Just then, the boat begins to tip, and the
men just fall in unison while they are asleep. Talia goes
with the way of how the ship leans to the side. All the
sudden her stomach begins to feel queasy and make
strange sounds. “Ah man, what is going on?” She said to
herself. Talia begins to reach up with her small hand and
hold her stomach. She seems to be getting sea sick. Or this
is some rare disease she has only felt once in her life. Talia
stops walking with her stealth footsteps, and starts to hop
over and go back the way she came in. She fears that the
death is in her, and she needs to get it out. “I suddenly do
not like the sea life, right now.” She said to herself while
walking faster, and faster to the top deck and looking for a
bucket.
Talia can not find a suitable bucket and stammers on
what to do next. “Nothing left, but to get it out by the way
of the sea. Talia does like any girl her age and goes by
the side of the ship She then looks into it, and gives back
the sea what it gave to her. With her very last strength, she
hurls over the ship and yells out the foul thing she had in
her. “I suddenly do not feel this is the life for me,
anymore.” She stated to herself while wiping her lip. She
dry heaves into the sea, and that was the end of the
sickness she felt. She throws herself back and thinks of the
time she had with her mom back in Gomorrah.
Talia eye starts to quiver and blink. Her black eye fades
and her soft skin feels clammy. She feels she has no more
strength and passes out from the horrible sickness effect of
the sea. The only sound left is the rushing waves and the
ropes of the mast hitting each other with clangs in the
wind.
Chapter 6 “Trial if by sea”
The next morning, the sea seems still and calm. The
wooded ship is now out of the harbor and sailing, to a
heading that Captain Jack-a-lot seems to know. Talia is
still asleep on the top deck while some of the men began to
awaken from their usual night slumber. The captain goes
out to meet the cool morning wind from his quarters. As
he approaches the top of the deck. He looks out to see the
points he can easily navigate.
The captain’s brown eyes look stern and looks at the
clouds and the winds up above the mast of the ship.
“Where are the men?” He thought. He begins to shout
with thunder. “Mr. Roberts, come about sir. This is where
we go.” He exclaimed with a wide outstretch of his furious
hand. Mr. Roberts is a mild man that seems to be on time.
Well most of the time. He is barely awaken getting his
coffee from the deck below.
Mr. Roberts hears the captain speaking and he rushes
out to see what the day will unfold for today. “Yes sir,
Captain sir. Where we heading to this glorious rotten day.
He musters from a slip of his coffee. The captain looks at
him with a felony eye and says. “Mr. Roberts, I thought I
taught you better that the sea is full of water. Yes, but uh
there is also quite the adventure out their sir.’ He says to
him. “I know we are heading to the out world again, but
we will take the mouth and go out by the island, till we be
there at last she will be like a woman of Mier to me.” Mr.
Roberts looks out the starboard and clinches his neck.
“Okay Captain, but we have been to the Island of Mier
before. This aint no luck been here done that and then
some. If that is the heading.
Then let me get these filths up. Sir! He said with some
gluttony. The captain raises his eye and looks abroad as to
hold for a song or banner waiting for him. “Out to sea. Mr.
Roberts tis lets try her out. There’s for waiting for me. He
said while stretching out his knee on a piece of the
wooded ship.
-Log out-
Michael realized that he had been watching for
hours was it already time to get to work or school. The
hours just seem to get longer and longer. The next day
Michael looks up and down, left and right. “Okay I’ve
done my exercises for the day.” He said with laughter. He
goes to the other side of the room and agrees to get
dressed for the day is about to begin. He begins to think
about everything that is going on in the world of Castern.
He goes out of the room and looks around. He
thought he heard a noise in the next room, but it was just
some creaking. He goes to the kitchen area and looks over
at the room. “That is Margaret’s room. How come she
never comes out of there? It’s just weird. Maybe she does
not like the outside world too much. He thought. He
creeps into the kitchen and looks at the time. The clock
reads six o’ clock.
He stares at the clock and then looks to the kitchen
and pulls out a sharp knife. “Where is the cheese?” He
thought. He goes to the refrigerator and pulls out the
yellow cheese that looks like it has holes and about half
the size of an apple. “Okay someone has been in here
eating this cheese. Hm, I wonder who, what, when, where
how and why. This has happened. What year and time?
Joy! He slams the refrigerator shut, and then goes to the
clock again. Man, I got to get to work. Yes fast, hurry. I
must go or I be late and late for this date. I’ve never been
that late, but I really have no place to go.” Out the door he
goes with a flash of the cheese on the counter. The door
across the kitchen table begins to creak and open. “Is
someone there? I know that I heard a noise. Or maybe
not.” The voice said. The door begins to slowly creep back
in the crack and the whole house is silent for hours.
Later that night Michael gets home and goes to his
room. He thinks of the world of Castern and Bastok.
“How could this happen? Bastok is now in jail, but he got
himself out because he feels that bars cannot hold him and
what his purpose is? He said to himself. Then we have the
beloved Talia and her beginnings.” He said to himself
while calmly awaiting to get his night clothes on.
“Interesting, there should be a silver lining somewhere or
maybe around the time. How can two people who have
nothing alike even attract me. He said. I really must see
what Bastok has planned for Brimstone. However, Talia
interest me, about her own beginnings. Then there is the
issue of Triman. I should have deleted Triman from
existence.” He smiled with great compassion. “That would
not be proper or fun to do, either.” He said to himself. Just
then he remembers what he wanted to do after about a
few minutes and logs on to the world of Castern.
Bastok is troubled by the outcome of the cry of the guards
that run away from him. Bastok begins to look at his
hands and tries to see if there is something special about
him and why he could command the bars to melt. He
looks up and sees the oversized wall that is over
shadowing him to look as if to say, what else will you do?
At a moment’s notice Bastok sees by the corner of his eye a
brilliant bluish green light appearing outside of the
building. He begins to walk outside smelling the fresh
scent of pine and ash. He wonders what is going to
happen and all the same he is mesmerized by the light.
The light is pale and is brilliant he goes closer and
closer to the light and it appears to faintly become
glimmering. Bastok face is shown as the light is now fully
on his face and he can see that the light is leading him to a
part of a forest.
Bastok sees a small but deep forest full of ever green and
glades. The small grass tidings cling to his feet and feel
like soft cotton. A voice glimmers in the reflection of the
light that is before him. Bastok slowly squints to see but
the only image that is seen is the bluish green light. The
light is no smaller than a few feet across and it appears
that he can pick up the sphere looking object. The object is
near a tree and is glimmering with a glassy brilliant
appearance. Bastok reaches up and the image hums a
voice.
“Bastok, do not be afraid of The image that I am giving
you. I created you and I want you to be able to
communicate with me at any time. I need to know that
you understand. Bastok’s eyes became big like saucers and
the brilliance of the sphere gets even brighter. This is a
link for you to have that only you can hear. I have made it
a greenish looking shell for you to only listen too. This
will connect you and I to each other. Whenever, you raise
this shell up. You will hear a language that only you can
understand. Do you understand? Bastok? Speak Bastok.
IAM is listening.
Bastok looks at the sphere and tries to say a word but
is hesitant to even muster a word out. His eyes become
silent and have no feeling in them. He tries to speak but
the words come out broken. “You’re the, wait, so I can do
most things? Wait, I don’t believe you? The glass object
shimmers. “Maybe it was better for me just to say, Hello
my son. So, as I was saying you will hear only me with
this link to us. Use the shell to talk to me. Bastok looks at
the shell and agrees to it. “Okay, yes whatever this is? The
sphere shimmers once again. “Oh, also one more thing
don’t tell anyone you are speaking to the Sevens.
They will not understand you. Until their heart is
like yours. Then they will only hear what they want to
hear. I am truly sorry, but that is the way it must be.” The
voice glimmers in the shell and then goes out. Bastok
looks at the sphere and it becomes like jade. Bastok looks
again at the sphere, and it is a wonderful smooth glass that
is small enough to roll in his hands. He slowly closes his
hand and looks to see if anyone was watching or looking.
Bastok looks around the tree and tries to see if anyone is
near the tree. He looks to the ground and names the tree
on the dirt. IAM
Bastok looks at the object and carries it with a heart
full of wonder. Bastok begins to walk away and look at
the tree. “So, if I just speak to the shell and hold it up. The
voice will speak? He thought. Bastok puts the sphere
looking shell in his hand and walks away.
Ch. 7 “Mier Island”
Across the sea and above the clouds. A large boat with a
captain sails to the inner sea. This is where the clouds meet the
very brink of the vast point of the sea. Talia waves her arms
up, as to try to understand why the green slime does not ever
come off the ships deck. “Why does this not work? I scrub and
scrub all day long, and it just does no good. She said to herself.
“I will think of this now and forget one two things tomorrow.
She said.
“I think its time to get down below.” She states.
Talia goes to the open door of the deck and disappears into
it. Meanwhile the captain of the ship is gazing across the sea
and looking for a good place to fully put the sails to use. “Mr.
Roberts, where is that blasted island of Mier we are heading to.
He said with a low grin in his mouth. “Sir, captain Jack-A-lot
that Mier island is a mystery every time we come across it sir.
Even me eyes don’t see how it appears but tis doth. He said
while a thick fog follows them through the brink of sunset.
“Navigational instruments will be off Mr. Roberts!” he said
while looking thick into the vast sea. The clouds of mist roll in
like a carpet of wool over your eyes.
It feels like the misty sea held still. “Let’s tread the water
and still the boat sir’s. You there come down off the mast and
lower the sails about half way. Tully, where you be? He said as
he is looking for the man with the lantern. Tully, is that you?
Get over by the front of the ship with that lantern sir. Tully
looks at the captain and agrees with his feverish eye but looks
grief. “Aye sir!” he said while going to the front of the ship
while the crew went down below to prepare for the night.
Talia goes to the part of the ship where her quarters is. She
looks up and across to see if anybody is looking and tries to
scramble to change her wet clothes from the usual work day.
Talia sees men with her eyes, but they are in no mood
because this is dinner time, and nothing interferes with the
dinner time of shipmates on a ship. Talia sees a pair of clean
folded shirt and pants for her, but it is loosely knitted and looks
like a small sailor would wear the whole ensemble. “They need
a better tailor aboard this ship man. It is so terrible. Just so
terrible.” She cried with a burst of laughter. Talia tries to avoid
losing what more she has of sanity. The ship is forcing her to
think of simple things and simple times. She holds her head
and tries to think of what she used to do but is very confused.
She then shakes her small feverish head side to side. “I know
that I remember something, but I never really had to do what I
must do now.” She shakes off her fear and walks over to the
rest of the noise that is shattering the rest of the ship inner
walls. Talia walks over to the short hallway and sees the two
doors that say mess hall. The door is bursting with rhythm and
song that even Talia has no idea what is happening inside of
the hall. She smiles and smirks, but she quickly remembers that
she is a shipmate herself and that will be tis will be the way.
“Listen, all you mates that like to look at me quizard. She
walks in with a stride that only Talia knows of herself and well.
The ship mates look at her as she enters in and laugh a storm of
free willing talk and stirs. “Bah, who be coming? One says.
“Pipe down you free loving willy moth. Another says to her.
Talia looks at the two and keeps on strutting by and by. “That’ll
be enough of that and where is my dinner. You loust. She said
with a cry. She stands upright with her finger up and stretched.
Her feet are planted as if she stood with authority. The ship
mates laugh and bustle as they gouge down the last of the food.
“There be that Talia, calling out to herself with the
blanting eye of fork.” He said. Talia looks at the ceiling and
looks across. “I will be willing if it be willing but I like to be like
mandered. That’s who I am. She says to him the best she could
muster her words of encouragement. “So, you better just sit
right back down and finish what you say. Or I be going to
captain and letting hm know you be scrawdering.” She
exclaimed with a blanted eye of resentment. “Bah waste me
time!” He said while slurping up his soup de gourd. “I do smile
from time to time sirs but never here and nowhere to be ever.”
She stated to the whole crowd around the mess hall. “So, I be
wanting to sit here and you louse never be here not ever.” She
then sits down by a small crowd and begins to look for her
soup spoon and what is left of the gourd that she can see.
Talia pushes and shoves her way in a spot and sits with
her eyes close to never look at one of the smelly crewmates. She
cries in her soup dish and eats what she can. However, she is
disgusted of the smell and the feel of the crowd and throws the
bowl across the room. The crew is so loud that the mess hall
begins to feel like a jail house scene gone mad. Suddenly
Captain Jack-a-Lot walks in with a tempered authority and
rapidly calls out to the crew mates. “What be here? What is all
this noise? Can you not eat with the decency of the mannered
men that I have tried you to be? He says to them with authority.
The crew mates seemed ashamed of themselves and start
cleaning up and getting ready for sleep. “Do you not
understand how to be like minded and appease each other with
good will and non-slave offending.”
The captain looks angrily at his mess hall and stamps
down the middle of the mess hall. “This is preposterous. This
will not do. You sir, there clean this up till you have no
slumber till it be clean. He commands while the back of him
Talia looks around.
“Off to bed with you girly. Let’s go before Captain have us here
all night. He says while scurring out of the mess hall.
Talia begins to leave the mess hall with sudden quickness
to her feet. She begins to understand that dinner time is just to
let loose, and let the night unfold to sleep the next day. The
captain draws a sword at one of the ship mates and commands
with authority. “You sir, this had better be the last time this
happens. Or it will be the ladder and all alone on the wet mast
for you? Don’t you think that this will not be happening. I will
have my eye on you sir. Clean and off to bed with you scrawbs.
Good night sirs! NOW! He thunders with a captainish voice of
high esteem. The captain walks out of the mess hall and walks
quietly to his quarters and slams the bolted door. The next
morning Talia gets up, and realizes that she spent most of the
night in her bunk asleep. Was this the first night that she
seemed that she felt a good nights rest? The rest of the crew
was snoring away as if there was nothing wrong about the
morning. Talia gets up out of her cold kot, and sees some men
walking her way. She does not greet them, but sways to the
side for them. She makes her way to the upper deck and sees
the sea. The ship is moving from the usual up, and downward
thrust as if being carried by the sea.
The sky is a bright blue vast, and the weather is cloudy.
Could this be the voyage end? “Where we at Captin Jack-a-lot,
sir? A man on the ships deck said in the midst. Talia peeps over
to see the captain and some crew members looking abroad the
ships port bow. “We should be getting really close to Mier. I
can smell the island's bananna trees. He said while looking
around from side to side. Captain, something is happening
near the starboard part of the ship. The crewmen gaze around
the side of the ship and see some the ghastly shadows climbing
the ship. Captain, its the skeleton crew monsters! He said very
harshly and in a scared part of his voice.
Captain, there are climbing up the ship hull. He said.
Wait, now you go there to the side. Let me main this ship to the
other side. Men its going to be a brawl. Lets get prepared. Talia
starts to wonder what is happening. Is this really happening the
quiet ship ride from all this time is gong to get some action.
Talia eyes begin to maneuver as she feels prepared for the
moment. Talia looks over and hears the monsters or whatever
it will be climbing aboard. The captain starts shouting out
orders and grabs the ships wheel.
“Hold on to something all of you scabs. This is going to
be a rough ride. He said while turning the wheel of the ship to
the right. The crew gets a hold of what they can see to hold
onto. The ships hull begins to turn as some skeletons fall off
the ship. The skeletons look like old sailors that might have
sailed the land before. They have a shape of a human with no
skin left on their bones. Their eyes are soul less and glimmer in
the daylight. They move very sharp, but are somewhat very
confused at the direction they are going. Talia starts to look for
a weapon any weapon would be good at this time. While the
ship begins to go back to the middle and settle the rest of the
skeletons left begin to climb onto the ship's deck. The crew sees
the few skeletons and begins to fight off the skeletons. Talia
watches as the anticipation of wanting to get into the action
overcomes her. “I will just think of the Voose like back home
and then begin to fight each one of these off. Talia thrust her
imaginary sword up and snarls her teeth. She watches the crew
fighting off the skeletons as they angerly get ready for more.
Talia watches the pirates gather and then take down the
remaining skeletons. The skeletons are few in number so it is
just easier to pick them off. Talia watches as the pirates just
pick off the bones of the skeletons. She noticed if she just hit the
legs of the skeletons hard enough they would just fall all over
the place with gravity. Talia jumps and springs into action as
she manages to sweep downward, and thrust her foot like an
axe. The skeletons seem confused, and just fall apart all around
her. Talia gets up and quickly tosses the skeletons in the sea.
One after one. She realizes that the task was harder to think
about then it was to actually fight off those skeletons. The last
pirate throws the rest of the skeletons off the ship and then they
see the famous island. “There it is that be Mier island and I be
recognizing it now.” He said with some fury in his voice. The
island is full of wonder. You can see the banana trees that
flourish as if the island itself just gave birth to trees. The top of
the island has a small mountain that reminds you of a beautiful
crested top of a cake. The air is still but calm. Talia looks as the
island unfolds itself to her and wonders why land is so
important to find. “I cannot describe the feeling of this but I am
so glad and happy inside to see something to walk upon.” she
said to herself excited but still raw.
The men look at her and smile but the captain is full of joust
and jealousy. “Now Mrs. Talia do not be telling our secrets to
our life. We hold all of our hides dear to the sea. Don't worry
Mrs. Renton you will see, that one day and realize your a pirate
yourself. HA!” He said with a smile that seemed like it was
weird at first but fit for the first time. Talia looks out and wants
to go on land so bad that she can taste the land. “Land Ho!? Said
the man that was in the crows nest as he fell out with a spot of
rum. “ A little late sir. Dont you think. We are here already. “
Talia said while watching him fall out. All of the sudden the
pirates have something to do and they quickly get dressed to
get onshore. “Wait, what is going on?” Talia thought. “Oh well,
okay what do I wear to go on land?” She thought. The men go
to their rooms on-board and start to discuss the trip that is
going to take place. They seem to take a big part of getting on
land and seeing Mier island. Talia remembers that she has
nothing to wear and looks for some kind of shorts. She smells
under her arms and wonders what happened. Talia begins to
understand a pirates life a little and wonders what else is going
to happen along the way.
Ch. 8 Paladin is the Way
Meanwhile, Bastok is just outside the castle walls. He
knows that he does not want to stay in a jail cell. He also
knows that the way of life for him is not here. “There!
Grab him at once guards.” Fin said to the Brimstonian
guards. Bastok looks at them both and starts to run.
“Look, he is getting away. After him quickly. Guards
arrest that man.” Fin said with a lowish grin. Bastok eyes
seem to wander and focus on a clearing near the river. He
decides that he must run away, or be tormented for what
he has done. The Brimstonian guards begin to run after
the tall Windurstian. “There is no escape. Wait, he is
going inside the water? Bastok begins to think. and starts
to run in the water and keeps running. The tall
Windurstian legs move with force and he begins to float.
“What is this? I have never tried this before. I think that I
can reach the other side though. Bastok moves his
powerful arms inside his chest and out. He begins to
paddle and moving with this force pushes him to the other
side.
“Go after him, you idiots. Why are you just standing
there.” Fin said to the guards. The guards look really
scared as they have no idea how to get across. Need a
boat. We are too heavy. One guard looked at one another.
No, too heavy. I am not going to make that.” the guard
said to another. The guards are walking back and forth
up the bank and trying to realize that they are just too
heavy to go across. Bastok makes it safely across and
realizes that he has to head to some trees, or get out of the
sight of the guards. “Curse you Bastok, this is not right. No
this will not do.” Fin says while bouncing up and down.
Bastok looks around and sees a way to go into the deep
thicket. He wonders if they will follow. However, they will
have to find a way across the water. Nevertheless, the time
is at hand and the deed is done.
Fin looks around for Bastok but he is not able to see
him.
He starts to head back to Brimstone to ask if he
can go after Bastok with a army. Fin swiftly goes to the
part of Brimstone where Triman dwells. He is in awe that
Bastok escaped. He begins to walk with the other guards
up the long corridor and then to enter Triman's courters.
Up the long corridor and through the rough walls. Fin
goes inside to see Triman. “Ah Fin, my trusted Brimstonian
advisor. What can I do for you.” Triman looks at him while
thinking of a headache he has. “You, see sir Triman Lord.
There is a slight problem.” Fin said with a little hesitation.
“What, can you not dispose or at least teach Bastok what I
told of you.” Triman thundered at Fin as if to be disgusted
of his presense. “Well, theres this problem. However, my
plan of action is to take the army to eliminate the little
problem. He said with swiftness in his throat. “Problem?
What now do you ask of me Fin? He thundered. Fin tries
to back away and lower his countenance to try to leave the
chambers. “Fin, you are not telling me something. This is
not at all odd. I knew that this might happen. Or at least I
had thought about the situation. I will take this, and
declare the anticipated war on this Quadronian. He said
while clinching his fist and making the air all but still. Fin
looks at Triman and assumes a more pleasant stance and
bows. “Well at once Sire. Let us go after this Quadronian.
So he has escaped. By now he will heading toward
Gomorrah. Bastok goes through the huge green thicket to
anything but back to Brimstone. He just wants to not be at
all in one place. He suddenly comes upon another part in
the thicket that is rather odd. Bastok sees a part of the
forest that does not look like it will go with the other parts.
“I shall follow that path and lead this way to something
that makes a little more sense.” He said to himself. The
forest has a greenish tan look to it and the trees are
unevenly hung over the gaps of the sunlight. The air is
misty and strange to the eyes. There are some rocks
around Bastok, but not enough to climb or go up to see
where he might be at. A few feet ahead of him is another
large thicket with bushes that seem to wraparound the
bottom of the carpet forest. Bastok can barely walk
through this part and so he breaks off a branch to walk
through. With a firm grip on his pouch by his belt. He
feels the small jade ball. He starts rubbing it for good luck.
Meanwhile, Fin is looking where to head the army that he
has gained. “Now men we must head in this direction
over this, uh body of water. So we will go like Bastok did
and go through this . Is that clear? He says while looking
at the sky and wondering if the men can really handle
this. Fin starts to look at the line of men that he has. He
looks down the line and thinks that some of them will
make it across the water. Fin goes in front of the men and
commands them to embrace the water and dive right in.
The men start to look at the water and wonder if this is
going to be there end. There face is hardened and
displaced as the hundreds of men try to cross the body of
water. “I dont care how you get through just make it
through. We have a felon to catch and our orders are
quick. The whole army of men like a arsenal of weapons
try to go against the rivers body of water. They do not
know how to swim and so their armor carries them
quickly down and with so many terrible attempts to cross.
Fin looks at the tired army and just about gives up to get
across the water. “It's just water. Isn't it. This makes no
sense. I will just leave all you baffons to this on your own.
Fin gets a position and assumes a stance and the water
becomes solid enough to step on.
“Now, with that being done. I shall go in my pursuit of our
felon. This will be all too sweet as I feel as if this had a
beginning in a point of time before. He said with a curious
face.
Make your way over here to this area. Before the
magic wears off. I'm going after Bastok. He screamed to
the army of men to follow. The men look as if to see that
the magic is holding them to a point in the water that
holds their armor up. So they cross one by one like
lemmings to the edge of the cliff. The army of Fin starts to
head into the thicket of the woods and begins the search
for Bastok. This is the time of the owl and the moon. So it
is about near dark. The Sun is about to set into the land of
Gomorrah. Not far from there Bastok is finding his way
through the shrubs and the rest of the huge forest. The
forest sounds have intensified since an hour ago and now
he hears small cricket sounds. There are also wild beast
making there way to see the new path follower. The
animals sense something that is not like the rest of the
forest. Bastok makes so much noise going through the
huge forest that he awakens some beasts. Bastok hears a
sudden thud and begins to start running. He breaks off a
branch as he is running towards nothing. He is very
puzzled as to where he is, but he knows that goodness will
overcome. There is such a way that the spirit of Bastok is
like that of a old worn shoe. The shoe will still fit if you
know how to wear it. However, there is little time for this
and so much more to do. Bastok willingly leaps into the air
and keeps running into the endless amount of trees.
Should he stop? What keeps him going? Maybe its a
question of how long will this last? There should be only
one answer to the dilemma. Of course there can also be
somewhat three or four parallels that involve the outtake
of the negativity in that statement.
--Logout-Michael begins to ponder about the predicament of the
times but that of the universe. So if we tranverse the outcome to
the tenth of the nano-second plus that of the square root of
seven. There should be another way for the math to compute
on the other side of the parallels in the universe. By just
adjusting the middle lets decide an outcome of the breach.
There also needs to be a hypotenuse of the start. So now the
middle reluctantly can become in the center. So now lets us
configure the landings of the mass of Gomorrah. Yes, that is the
solution. So if Bastok runs to the mass of that of the speed of
light times negative four. Aha! That is the solution to the
problem. Michael looks at the solution and realizes that it
needs more of a curve. “This has to be perfect. Or it just
will not work in the world alone. He said with some
confidence. “Yes, this will work and he will end up on the
horizon.
--Log in-Bastok runs in a graceful way and he seems to have a
transparent armor that enables him to shine in the light.
Bastok is also dressed in a way that a knight should be looked
upon. The look on Bastok's face is that of a shown true warrior
that glimmers in the fall in a fight. He now knows of heroic
ways of a Gladiator. The light defines Bastok as a dashing
knight of light that arrays down to his Platinum armor of shoes.
He strides away with that of which one comes across as
someone that has shown an enemy with great authority. The
battle that has been won and the great confidence in himself.
Bastok face is shown with a paleish pride and yet his
enemies have feared what he has learned and heard. The
accompany of the mastered style of persuasive honorable
establishment. Thinking in his mind that the infallible longing
of the centered planet. Although the planet is not centered and
the outcome of the run for the battle is at hand. Bastok now
faces more danger as he knows that he is being followed by Fin
and his army of Brimstonian's.”
“Grace is upon me and I will go as the Seventeen has
followed. Forever will I be in thine eye of deceit and
resentment. I vow that this day will I overcome that madness
that is over hung on the abyss of not knowing. He said while
looking into the empty fields of greenish shrubs. In the cold
distant a pair of red eyes emerge and become available. A
monstrous figurine becomes imminence with a cutting field of
arrogance. The figure is solid brownish texture of a she-wolf.
There can be dismounts of pure disarrayed light that abandons
the figurine. The parallels of the object is that of the
carnivorous regime. The monstrous figurine sniffs the air and
disembowels a hellish yell that accompanies one to a kill.
Bastok hears of the cry of the monstrous figure, but does not
over see the embodied sediment of his own smell. He then
examines a part of the greenish shrubbery and advances in a
diagonal stride.
“My Gauntlets will serve me well with this ill mannered
beast. I know them well to this for this fight.” he whispered.
With great speed and encouraged wit. Bastok encounters the
beast at her stance of empowerment. Bastok looks to the eye of
his counter enemy and strikes fear with just a glaze of troubled
awareness.
The She-wolf figurine dismounts on the hill nearby. She
walks with heavy weariness and carefully eyes Bastok in the
moment. Always watching his moves and the anticipation in
his eyes. She moves her strides quickly and without notice.
Bastok looks at her with a somewhat stance that allures the
beast to sway back and forth. The she-wolf always looking for
the chance to attack the head and bite it completely off. Bastok
looks at the ground and it plunges with a white fierce atrocity.
Was this a beast or a human? Bastok goes to his Gauntlets and
gets the feel of the air. He clangs them as they ring with a
piercing sound of metallic metal. The beast jumps to the top of
the scowl of the night but this happens only for a brief
moment.
Bastok reaches out and the she-wolf bites the Gauntlets. She
tears a shred in her teeth and gnashes out. Bastok hits the beast
with a fury of power and draws blood on the helm of the nose
of the beast. The beast understands that the power of her
enemy is not to be fooled. The she-wolf tries for another
destined attack but Bastok is too fast and blocks the attack with
a swift move of both Gauntlets together with a full swing
motion of a sense of knowing the wind. “I really do not want to
hurt you beast. But if you come at me. I cannot help what
happens to you. He said with a gist of his voice as if he had said
this a thousand times before. The she-wolf withdraws the
attack with a mutton nose full of crimson blood and escapes in
the night with no trace of coming back to the fight. Bastok
looks through the small trees and shrubs. There is a hint of
night air that is salty to the touch. Bastok lowers his Gauntlets
and treads on with a masculine physique and walks with
slower strides.
Ch. 9 A Great white Box
Talia enters the ever more urban island of Mier. The
sea is
salty and spongy. The sun is high above the sky
at this time. There is a sense of reality to the way of the
situation. Talia senses there could be either tragedy here
or there is terror. Either or this could be bad, or just the
way it appears. She understands that the island is not at its
greatest part of the intense field that is upon her. There
seems to be an adjustment of the layout of the island. The
way is strange but somewhat near a tearful revengeful
blight. “Bly me that island is just a myth and there seems
to be a annoyance on the land.” She said as she went
down from into the middle of the island. The crew begins
to sing asunder in the air and they get rowdy. They seem
to be rushing to the sight of the inland mid-land. “Where
is everyone rushing to in such a hurry?” Talia said with a
distant feeling of warmth. The crew heads into a heading
where there is some lights and a small house. The house is
small but lit. There is some activity outside of the house
but there is also no one inside. The entrance to the house
Is but a mile up and a mile down. “Where is everybody?”
Talia thought to herself. The crew go where ever they
seem to be. One side of the crew is leaving while the other
is only looking at lights. The lights that are shown are
leading to another part of the inland mid-land. Some of
the area is marked by white sparks but not all of the
people in this area know where to go. “Is it a trap? Where
is all this going to? I think that Ill go to the house.” Talia
thought to herself. Talia goes to the other side of the path
that leads to the house. She begins to wonder about to
look at all the strangeness that she can see. There is a
small chimney but no smoke coming out of the house. She
goes a little closer and sees a small opening.
She cannot decide if this looks like a door or a small
opening for another person. “Bly me this is weird. I bet
that I can fit inside of this here fit. Let me find a way in
this here opening. I might just be fitting.” She said with
such a wonder of herself. Talia goes into the small hole
and examines her feet. Talia must only be inches from
what looks like a small ledge. She carefully steps on the
small holes but the way is slow and dreary. Talia seems to
be lost on the ledge but quickly goes up and down.
The ledge meets to a middle and then the box on the
ledge that held the door is loosen. Talia then finds a
mustard grass that seems to go into the ground. She puts
the grass on the ground and remembers a song that she
sings to herself. Talia looks around and then back and
forth stares at the bleak of the door that appears. She is
curious and finds a small path through the door and the
room is lit with small fires. One fire is on and the other is
put out. A small box is put on the path and the other sign
leads a way. “Surrender, but stay!”
The sign reads with lettering that a pirate can read. Talia
looks at the sign and wonders where is the chief. The
chief appears but he is in no mood to tell you what is
going on. The chief looks like a elderly man o f swan.
There seems to be a gassy fragrance of dirt that loosens on
the end of his mouth. He looks at Talia and wonders of the
amazement of the intensity of the fields that mothered the
willow trees. He is so curious that he starts to laugh. Talia
begins to get distressed and startled. “Wait, this place
makes no sense? Where is this? And what is this? Am I
dreaming in here or does my mind drift. She said while
talking with the chief.
The chief looks at you and wonders what time your
saying something will catch or end. He does not
understand the mobility of your words and goes to
another opeing upon the window up the norse cad. Talia
likes to see the sweat off the bow of the bowl. She sees a
clearing of the rag of the life that seems to be clearing.
Well that is a ill manner of speaking. Talia hears her
mother in the distant and wonders why she is hearing
such a wonderful thing.
“Mother are you near. Mother is this like what is dear.
Mother have they come to throw me here. Mother!” Talia
looks at the void and her mother appears. “So my dear. Are
you here. I beg of you Talia. Do you not here me. My child
this is not like you.” Talia mother is more distant than she
can be near. Talia looks at her mother but has no words to
say to her. She shakes her small but honest head and runs
away. “Talia dont forget me. I love you Talia. You wont
leave me. Will you that way?” Talia mother said as she
departs to the door by the front of the house. Talia looks at
the door and goes through the door. She opens the knob
and considers this the house of dreams.
“Something is wrong about this place and I dont want to
be here asunder.” Talia wals away from the house and
examines her hands. They are somewhat small and very
shaky at the moment. She goes to another part of the
opening and summons someone to hear her. “Is there
anyone here? Bly me, what is happening here? She said
with a curious lip. There is a small field that opens to a
grand opening in the the in land mid-land. Talia looks for
a way to get to the spot where she last saw someone.
“Did they all disappear? She wondered. Talia does not like
being lost. She is not at all trying to find herself. She seems
to just keep looking for the other crew. She stamps her
feet and imposes a pertrude rude manner of self denying
herself. Talia looks around to see that there is a clear mist
now. However, that mist was never there before. She goes
through the mist and looks into the heaven laden fog.
“Where did all this fog go through? She wondered. This
fog was weird. I feel little drops of rain on me. She said
while walking more into the fog. The setting is now white
and then it becomes a pale yellow. Talia looks around
once again and sees nothing that will draw her attention.
“A hunting we will go. A hunting we will go Hie Ho! Said
the Captain Jack-A-lot. “Oh there you are Talia. Are you
enjoying your stay here? He snickered and laughed at her
while passing by swiftly. Talia literally jumps when the
Captain is by her. She begins to wonder about how he just
appeared. Talia tries to stop him to ask him a simple
question. The Captain looks at her and just looks the other
way. “Sorry my dear but I must chase these knivers away.
So I will bid you adew until the next time perhaps.” he
said while leaving her.
“Wait, what is happening here. I dont understand what it
is I am suppose to find. I think I am lost here on this
island. “ She said while slipping and falling down. “I am
not liking this and tis be nonsense.” She murmured under
her breath. Talia walks away from the mist and the clouds
and wants to go back to the ship. She thinks of the ship
and it appears. “Now we are getting somewhere. So if I
just think of going home. Maybe I will be home and get
away from all this weirdness.” She told herself while
walking to the ship. The ship is in Talia's mist of vision.
She looks around for the other crew members but only
sees the ship. The air is slow and very lethargic. She
remembers a time with her Mother that she had.
“Talia, Dear did you forget your manners today? I
thought that I was suppose to tell you to have a good day
today Talia. Talia are you even listening to me Talia?
Why dont you ever listen to me Talia? Its for your own
good. Let me help you with that Talia. She said to her
while cooking something at home. Talia is at her home
and she does not understand what her Mom is doing.
Talia looks up at her mom and says. “Aw Mom, not now I
wanna play with the Voose and be the Captain of the ship
and play pirates. And junk Mom! Im gonna be on the
clipper one day see and then take on Black Chin. Yeah,
Mom I will!! Talia said with great enthusiasm.
