Top 5 Things I Wish I Knew When I First Started Blogging
Hey, Notes From B Fam!
What’s good, everyone? I hope you’re having an epic week! If not, spill the tea in the comments—I’m all ears.
So, it’s been 5 years since I jumped into the blogging world, and let me tell you, it’s been one wild ride. I’ve had my share of ups and downs, and I’m still learning as I go. But hey, that’s what makes this journey so exciting, right? Today, I’m sharing the top 5 things I wish I’d known when I first started blogging. Buckle up, it’s going to be a fun one!
1. Scheduling Is Your Bestie
Oh, how I wish someone had told me about the magic of scheduling from day one. Seriously, this is the key to keeping your sanity. Planning out your posts a week or two in advance is like having a crystal ball—only better because it works! You don’t need to plan a whole month, but knowing what’s coming up next keeps you ahead of the game.
2. Make Room for You-Time
Burnout? Not here! One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that it’s okay to step back and take a breather. Scheduling helps with this too. Pick days that work for you—where you know you’ll be in the zone—and stick to them. Trust me, you don’t need to blog every day. Just choose days where your creativity flows like a river, and you’ll thank yourself later.
3. Follow the Inspiration, Always
Here’s the thing—when inspiration hits, drop everything and write! Even if you’ve got your content all planned out, don’t ignore that creative spark. It makes your job so much easier, and who knows? That spontaneous idea might just turn into your best post yet.
4. Personal Stories for the Win
Maybe it’s just me, but writing about my own experiences is 100 times easier than curating someone else’s. There’s something magical about sharing your own life that really connects with people. So, whenever I can, I go for the personal touch. It feels more real, and readers can tell when you’re being authentic.
5. Embrace Your Toughest Critics
And finally, here’s a little secret—I share my posts with my toughest critics before they go live. Yep, I’m talking about my loved ones. They’ll give me the truth, and that’s exactly what I need. Sometimes I worry if what I’m writing is good enough, but then I remember—it is what it is. Some people will love it, some won’t, but that’s okay. I’m here to keep doing my thing, and so should you!
Alright, your turn! Drop something you wish you knew when you first started blogging in the comments below. Let’s learn from each other and keep this blogging adventure rolling!
Catch you later!
xoxo,
