Director leading the strategic and budgetary ICT decisions, for all establishments in the Multi Academy Trust. Focused
on identifying, recommending, developing, implementing and supporting cost-effective technology solutions.
Providing leadership for a team of 8 technical support staff, managing a user-base in excess of 2500.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Building integrated multi-site ICT systems and services.
• Creating over £200,000 capex savings, through virtualisation of the server & desktop infrastructure.
• Saving 33% capex, by swapping out 120 varied devices at £25k with annual running costs of £300k, for a Ricoh
centralised print and copier management contract, at £105k per annum inclusive of maintenance, expendables
etc..
• Saved £35k by deploying Office 365 for all users and retiring outlook and exchange servers. This reduced the
number of physical servers required onsite and improved centralised data management.
• Upgrading over 25000 users from Azure to Active Directory SSO
• Generating huge capex savings (£246K initially growing ever four years) by consolidating virtual servers onto
Microsoft Windows 2012 R2 (approx. 40 servers, including domain controllers & file servers). 500 computers were
replaced with a virtualised image, resulting in a more secure and stable environment and increased update speeds.
• Standardising of all classroom ICT equipment including roll-out of interactive smart boards in every classroom.
• Architecting a ruckus cloud-based Wi-Fi solution for BYOD using Cisco MDM.
• Designing and maintaining the system security and disaster recovery procedures, covering a range of scenarios
including server, hardware, software and physical risks
• Increasing efficiency of ICT Helpdesk by automating the ICT asset tracking system and centralising ICT staff.
