Definition of Happiness
Happiness is not a finite resource;
Happiness cannot be traded or exchanged like a
commodity;
Happiness is a state of being;
Happiness can be cultivate within ourselves;
Happiness can be shared through our words
and actions.

How can happiness be exchanged or traded?
• Happiness cannot be exchanged or traded in
the traditional sense;
• Happiness is an internal state of being;
• Happiness cannot be physically transferred
from person to person;
• Material possessions and external experiences
can sometimes contribute to happiness;
• Material possessions are not happiness in and
of themselves.

spreading positivity, kindness, and love.
• acts of kindness can bring a sense of happiness;
• surrounding oneself with people and experiences that
bring us happiness;

spending time with loved ones;

engaging in activities that promote personal
growth and fulfillment.
Benefits of Happiness
• Happy people are generally more productive,
creative, and resilient;
• Happy people tend to have better relationships;
• Happy people tend to have lower stress levels;
• Happy people tend to be in better physical
health.
Measuring Happiness
Measuring happiness is a complex and subjective
process, as it varies from person to person.
Factors such as culture, personality, and life
circumstances
Here are some ways to measure happiness:
• subjective well-being surveys;
• self-report questionnaires;
• happiness indexes; and
• brain scans.

• Physiological Measures – assessing physiological
changes in the body

Challenges of Using Happiness as
Currency
While happiness can be a valuable resource, it can

• challenge arises in individual differences in
what makes people happy; and
• the potential for people to manipulate or fake
their happiness.

bonuses" to employees;

alternative economic systems
