EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT
THIS EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT (the "Agreement") dated this ________ day of
________________, ________.
BETWEEN:
Midview Law Firm LLC of 123 Northwest Oakwood Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35811, USA
(the "Employer")
OF THE FIRST PART
- AND –
Francis Oglobo of 457 Magnolia Avenue, Satsuma, AL, USA
(the "Employee")
OF THE SECOND PART
BACKGROUND:
A. The Employer is of the opinion that the Employee has the necessary qualifications,
experience, and abilities to assist and benefit the Employer in its business.
B. The Employer desires to employ the Employee and the Employee has agreed to accept
and enter such employment upon the terms
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises herein, the parties agree as
follows:
1. Nature of Employment
3.1. At-Will Status:
This Agreement acknowledges that Alabama is an at-will employment state. Either the
Employer or Employee may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without
cause or notice, except as prohibited by law.
3.2. Position:
The Employee shall serve in the position of a Legal Secretary (the “Position”) and will
perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned.
3.3. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Employee agrees to faithfully perform the duties of the Position, which include but
are not limited to:
a. Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence.
b. Managing case files, both physical and electronic.
c. Scheduling appointments, hearings, and meetings for attorneys.
d. Answering phones, managing incoming/outgoing mail, and handling client inquiries
professionally.
e. Maintaining confidentiality of all firm and client information.
f. Assisting with billing, timekeeping, and administrative reports.
g. Performing any other related duties reasonably assigned by the Employer.
3.4. Compliance:
The Employee agrees to comply with all applicable laws, rules of professional conduct,
and the Employer’s policies.
2. Term
Employment shall commence on the ___ day of ________, 2025, and shall continue
until terminated in accordance with Section 8 of this Agreement.
3. Compensation
3.1. The Employee shall be compensated at the rate of $10.00 per hour.
3.2. Wages shall be paid semi-monthly on the 15th and 30th of each month, in accordance
with the Employer’s payroll practices.
3.3. All compensation shall be subject to applicable federal, state, and local withholdings
and deductions.
3.4. Overtime will be compensated in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act
(FLSA) and Alabama law (time-and-a-half for hours worked over 40 per week).
4. Work Schedule and Hybrid Arrangement
4.1. The Employee will be expected to work an average of 40 hours per week.
4.2. Work will be performed in a hybrid format, with the Employee required to attend the
office on designated days and permitted remote work on other days, subject to the
Employer’s schedule and needs.
4.3. The Employer reserves the right to modify the hybrid work schedule based on business
requirements.
5. Benefits and Leave
5.1. The Employee shall be entitled to any benefits offered by the Employer, subject to
eligibility.
5.2. Leave, including sick leave, jury duty, and voting leave, shall be granted in accordance
with applicable federal and Alabama law.
5.3. Vacation leave will be provided at the rate of ___ days per year, accrued monthly.
6. Confidentiality
The Employee acknowledges that they will have access to sensitive and confidential
client and firm information and agrees not to disclose or misuse such information during or
after employment.
7. Non-Solicitation
7.1. For a period of 12 months following termination of employment, the Employee shall
not solicit or attempt to solicit the Employer’s clients or employees with whom they
had material contact.
7.2. This provision is intended to protect the Employer’s legitimate business interests and
shall be enforceable to the extent permitted under Alabama law (Ala. Code § 8-1-190).
8. Termination
8.1. Employment is at-will and may be terminated by either party at any time, with or
without cause or notice.
8.2. The Employer may terminate immediately for cause, including but not limited to
misconduct, breach of confidentiality, or repeated failure to perform duties.
8.3. Upon termination, the Employee shall receive all wages earned up to the termination
date. Unused vacation will only be paid if required under Employer policy.
9. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the
State of Alabama.
10. Entire Agreement and Amendments
10.1.
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties and
supersedes any prior agreements.
10.2.
Amendments must be in writing and signed by both parties.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this Agreement as of the date first above
