What you’ll need to do is cross-promoting your products with compatible local businesses that you have selected. You can offer discounts to customers who produce a receipt from the business you’ve partnered with as an indication that they have purchased an item from them. This also happens to your clients who visit the other business and produce your receipt, they get a discount. This will encourage both your customers to buy from each other.

1. Quality Before Quantity. Post only content that gives value to your audience. Avoid posting anything simply for the sake of it. Ensure every post is connected to the brand’s goals or objectives.
2. Get An Effective Posting Frequency. Find a frequency that will update and retain your followers. Too much content will lose them and so is too little. Post the right amount of valuable content at the right time.
3. Who are you online? Define Your Social Media Voice And Tone. What do you want your brand to sound like online? Who is your target audience and what vocabulary do they use? Based on the first two questions, what will your audience want to hear from you? Will you be professional, sarcastic or funny? You know better.
4. Create content strategies for each social network. What works for Meta (Facebook) might not work for Instagram, twitter or LinkedIn. Know what type of content to post where and when.
5. Follow correct number of words/characters and size of images for each platform. For example, an ideal Insta post is between 138 to 150 characters while the recommended size for images to post on FB is 1200px by 630px. This applies to Twitter and LinkedIn.
6. Have a social media posting schedule. It helps you post more strategically. Know what time your audience is online and post the content.
7. Use a social media calendar. To keep your posting schedule in line and functional, you need a social media calendar. The Calendars keep you accountable for posting deadlines and planning ahead saves time.
8. Optimize Your Social media Profiles For optimal Exposure. Make sure all your usernames, profiles, bios, company description, header photos and Logos are consistent. This makes it easy for people to find you everywhere. Put all the necessary info about your company on your profiles and use relevant keywords strategically to be found easily by search engines.
9. Use humor, but trend carefully. You can use memes and other forms of humor to entertain your audience and at the same time advertise your products and services. Using humor the right way can propagate your brand to great heights while one wrong move could lead you into a deep mess.
10. Use hashtags sparingly. Research your Hashtag before using them and make sure you don’t overuse them. This ensures that all your posts find the right audience who can turn into customers.
11. Cover the basics. Conduct a social media audit to make sure that all blanks are filled. Ensure that all your social media profiles have the right name, description, logos, banners, bios, and the content posted meet your standards.
12. Keep an eye on your social media analysis, engagement data and other relevant statistics. Numbers don’t lie. Observe, study, analyze and act on the data form your social media data center to make sure you’re doing things right.
13. Study and learn from your competitors. Get a list of at least of your top competitors, analyze their tactics, methods of engagement, challenges and revamp your tactics to be better than them. Only then can you retain and attract more clients.
