UBER`s FLYING TAXI SERVICE. Flying taxis can be an interesting invention and helpful reality when definitely it comes to be in time as Uber promises the world. They can be traffic jam medications as well congestions in our cities since the taxis are believed to be mounted some feet high from the ground therefore yielding a lot of space and open-up on the ground. Uber is among the most die-hard believers and recently they revealed the kind of vehicle they believe will be an option for every country especially in the big cities to curb the problems usually that are an outcome of numerous vehicles on the roads. They are slim and have cylindrical body with large windows. The design, reminiscent of a catamaran, features streamlined nacelles suspended high on each side, on slender supports which are the battery pods. On top of each, and atop two smaller, even farther outboard pods, sit stacked rotors, which provide the electric vertical lift for take offs and landing without any contradictions whatsoever. At the back, where the tail would be on a conventional plane, a propeller faces forwards, ready to power horizontal flight. There is just one door on one side so as to simplify ground operations. No need for extra steps or worrying about people alighting on the wrong side into an active landing pad. The approximated speed is between 150 and 200 miles per hour enabling the flying car to fly up to 2000feet above the ground. The company Uber has no motive of building these vehicles but it rather prefers to act as the middle man where it connects the customers or rather the passengers to the pilots as most of its activities show. Uber wants to disperse its idea to different respected manufacturers and act as their support. It wants to involve variety of players from industry, government, and academia to gather together and talk about making this whole flying taxi thing real and not a dream or a mere idea only .Uber`s department of aviation have of late made a design : the X-57, a small plane with 12 electric propellers dotting the length of the wings. This model is a good illustration of Ubers idea and concept. Some of the companies that Uber is working with to realize this dream are among the most respected. They include Helicopter manufacturer Bell, plane builder Embraer not to mention Aurora Flight Sciences. Now what Uber requires to do is to curb some of the emerging challenges like providing proper landing and charging spots for the flying vehicles. All in all, they must perfect their design to come more close to affordability, simplicity and compatibity.
