ANGER
Anger is a deep and sensitive volatile emotional state, experienced by both human beings and animals. It results from either a provocation, hurt or threat. It is also known as wrath. It is perfectly normal to be angry. Everyone, at one point in life gets angry. That doesn’t really matter. What matters is the reaction after you experience this intense emotion, which of course is a negative one and is brought about by a negative cause and therefore, at normal situations with a normal person, we ought to expect a negative outcome as well.
Anger can be visible externally since it can be clearly vibrant in our facial expressions, physiological responses, body language, and at times publicly through aggressiveness. Also, it can result to very bad consequences, both to us or those around us. Due to this, we should learn how to live with ourselves, manage anger and prevent the bad consequences. Below are ways how we can work out our anger issues and live cohesively with others in our communities.
Accept that you are upset
If you want to get over a certain problem or challenge, the first fundamental step which will assure your success is to accept the bare facts. Accept that you are angry, accept that someone has pissed you off. After accepting, you adjust. Be better that the challenge, be better than the person who have made you angry. If for instance you have been insulted and has made you very furious, you don’t have to insult back. You won’t have any difference with that person. The best thing you can do is to just keep quiet and walk away. Don’t say anything and don’t do anything bad to him/her. I understand it is hard but the hard way is the only way. After adjusting, advance. Advance the way you deal with your cause of anger. Avoid that one person whom when you see triggers the secretion adrenaline and noradrenaline in your brain and makes you upset.
Breathe in and out
It is always advisable to take a breath when you are angry. This will help distract your mind and body from whatever has made you angry and rather do something else. This will also ease you mind and the levels adrenaline and noradrenaline will decrease in the brains. So take a few breathes and then think the situation over. You will solve it more wisely after this.
Listen to music
Music soothes the mind of a person. When you are upset, don’t medicate, the best and harmless way to relax and sooth your brain is through listening to music. Tune in to your favourite music. Listening to music will always have a very calming effect on your body and mind.
Meditate
The best known ways to meditate is through prayer, closing your eyes and listening to nature and Yoga. Do not consume substance, it is not healthy and instead of helping you meditate, they will alter your normal way of thinking and lead you to making wrong and haste decisions. Just pray or take Yoga training so that you can be doing it. They help you know yourself better and how to control your anger.
Write it down
Another way to deal with your anger issues, is to write it down. This is also a very effective way. When you are upset and feels that you cannot take it anymore, just take a pen and paper and let it all out. In this manner, you can be able to read your thoughts on the paper, reason with them and definitely make the right decision.
