AMAZING TOUR TO THE BRAIN BIRDS OSTRICH RANCH
After a very long and tiring month, working up on a project that really consumed my energy and time, I wondered where I would go and have a little ‘me’ time. I received quite a fortune from the project I had been working on and my body demanded a retreat and a token of appreciation. Lots of previous places that I had visited ran across my mind but this time, I wanted to try something new. Trying something new is quite a mystery as you don’t know what to find there and how you will feel during the tour.
I consulted the internet but I couldn’t find what I really wanted. Just before I could give up on the idea of going for a personal trip, a friend of mine dropped along and saw how messed up I was. He suggested that we go out for a walk and a drink later but even after that, nothing cheered me up. Just before we parted way he gave me an idea of a place he had visited the previous week. Bird Brain Ostrich Ranch. “Am much into birds but this one was worth a shot brother”, he said. My friend and I had much in common and so I knew, I will definitely love this place.
The next day was the D day, a chilly morning but signs of sunshine later in the day. I embarked towards North Carolina to this new mystery I had to uncover. On my initial arrival, I loved the place at the first glance. You can call it love at fore sight. The reception was done by a very polite and decent lady who was ready to show me around the farm .Without much ado, she began telling me about the farm.
Birds Brain Ranch is an ostrich firm which is owned and operated by a family who live in the vicinity. The farm has been operational for the past few decades so it’s rich in history about these unique birds from the 1900s.The farm has been raising 30 to 40 ostriches per annum.
These dinosaur birds are rare at a universal platform and you can only find the best at Bird Brains Ranch. Their ostriches are raised with utmost care by the family of Pat Roberts, who is also the owner of the ranch. As they say, Quality before Quantities really evident as they bring up their birds without use of any chemicals, growth boosting hormones or any steroids or that matter.
A tour guide that will accommodate a family or personal interest is one of the packages that this amazing ranch has to offer. The kids as well as grown up will surely enjoy the view of these huge birds. You’re also allowed to take a photo or two near the birds for memory purposes.
After the tour, leaving the place empty handed is entirely your wish. But it’s quite a shame having that they offer lots of souvenirs to take home. They sell ostrich leather and other leather products. Also, they have carved eggshells, empty shells which can be utilised in crafts, handcrafted ostrich oil soaps and exquisite ostrich feathers or plumes. If you have a dog at home, the ranch has the best meal for your dog. They sell roasted ostrich bones. Spoil your dog with a sweet meal, courtesy of Brain Birds Ostrich Ranch. All the products they sell, including the soaps are made at the farm!
After buying a souvenir, my stomach was complain of being empty. I was amazed by the sweet ostrich meat Brain Bird Ranch had to offer. A restaurant located just few yards from the ranch, is where they sell their well-made ostrich meat. What a unique taste! I honestly had not eaten ostrich meat before but this was awesome. I even bought some take away to eat on my way home. I also came to realize that ostrich products are a very good alternative to red meat. They are healthy and also very delicious. The ostrich eggs are also available for purchase at fair prices.
