Subject: Here’s how to get famous without dating a Kardashian
Remember Paris Hilton?
Did you know that at the peak of her fame in the mid-2000s, she would get paid $300,000 just to
hang out at Vegas nightclubs, sip drinks and maybe dance on tables for an hour or two?
This was in addition to getting paid to appear in magazines, commercials, TV shows and
movies.
Meanwhile, when you dance on tables at a nightclub and demand they pay you for it, you just
get escorted out by the bouncer.
When you’re famous, the rules are a little different.
-
Money and opportunities flow to you.
-
Your emails get read and acted on instead of ignored or rejected.
-
You don’t have to chase clients, because they come to you, “pre-sold” on working with
you.
So if you’re an entrepreneur, and you want more money, more opportunities and growth,
becoming a “celebrity” is one of the best things you can do for your business.
As copywriter and marketing legend Dan Kennedy says:
“The simple truth is, if you aren’t deliberate, systematically, methodically – or rapidly and
dramatically – establishing yourself as a celebrity, at least to your clientele and target market,
you’re asleep at the wheel, ignoring what is fueling the entire economy around you, neglecting
development of a measurably valuable asset.”
The good news is, you don’t have to be a famous hotel heiress or start dating a Kardashian in
order to reap the benefits of celebrity.
Just being a celebrity in your market can work wonders.
Like author Malcolm Gladwell (who, as far as I know, is not known to dance on tables at
nightclubs). He charges $80,000 to give one-hour lectures at conferences.
He can do this because he built himself into a celebrity in his market through writing books,
speaking engagements, and getting press coverage.
Getting press coverage, by the way, is one of the fastest and easiest ways to become a
celebrity in your market.
Just being on the news gives you more credibility and “proof” in the eyes of your market than
you would have otherwise.
So how do you get the press to cover you?
Well there’s 2 ways you can go about it:
-
You could fire up the Google, find news articles related to your industry, get the names
of reporters and their contact info, then write the perfect pitch, email them and hope for
the best.
-
OR...you could do it the “lazy way” (aka the smart way because you know your time is
valuable): Have my team of PR outreach experts do all the research, email pitching,
follow-up and other work for you, since we do this stuff for a living and we’re pretty
freaking good at it by now.
So if you want to be a #lazygenius entrepreneur and get your company famous so one day soon
you can get paid to dance on table tops and coin a catchphrase like “That’s hot!”, then get the
details on how we help you get press coverage here:
