A romance novel intro I've been working on.
Sometimes the most broken of times have the happiest endings. Sometimes the worst moments of our lives are just a bend
away from greatness. It’s so great to not be alone.
She will never forget the fear. Only years would move her away from the resentment. Bitterness became a never ending
frostbite and self pity became her middle name. As she stood there weeping. Barely able to stand. The shadow above her felt
just like the physical manaphstion of her internal reality so countless moments passed to her before the presence could begin
to register.
She had never seen such a big horse. It towered above her before she even noticed the driver. Could he notice she was
barely able to stand? How noticeable was it that she was barely hanging on?
“What kind of help are you waiting for? Help from above or help from man?”
“I have never known a god,” I said. “Nor do I trust men. I will never be able to again.”
He half smiled. As if to chuckle, but not quite. As if there was now a challenge from with his life would not be complete unless
he met.
“I never said a god. But God, the only one that truly matters. I don’t trust men either. They worship themselves over turning to
God whom spends each day longing for our presence and love. A God who sacrificed everything for us. You won’t know love
until you know His.”
I looked down. How was I to respond to that? I could neither confirm nor deny his claims, nor his incentives.
