Rug Doctor Assemble / Method / Water disposal / Cleaning after use / Return Instructions Setting Up the Machine / Assembly - Carpet Cleaning 1 2 4 3 5 1 Pull lever on side of Handle to Move handle upwards or downwards to a comfortable level 2 Check that both hose connections at the back are Connected up to machine correctly. Plug machine cord into power outlet 3 Unclip black restraining arm from dome lid and take out white Recovery tank (waste water tank). Fill with 9 litres of Hot tap water and cleaning solution in Lower Red Tank Clean water only tank (halfway up the filter basket), 4 Add Antifoam solution to White tank then return into machine. Re-clip in the dome lid with restraining arm. 5 Controls for the machine are on the top of the machine body. Ensure White switch is set to carpet setting. 6 Position machine for cleaning pass, walk backwards holding Red Button on handle. This will spray the water and agitate the brushes. Must have the Vacuum button on the whole time to prevent oversaturation 1 Plug machine power cord into power outlet. Go to back of machine - Unclip both hose connections. 2 Connect both hose connections instead to the Upholstery wand tool hoses. 3 Unclip black restraining arm from dome lid and take out white Recovery tank (waste water tank). Fill with 9 litres of Hot tap water and cleaning solution in Lower Red Tank Clean water only tank (halfway up the filter basket), 4 Add Antifoam solution to White tank then return into machine. Re-clip in the dome lid with restraining arm. 5 Controls for the machine are on the top of the machine body. Set the White switch to Upholstery setting 6 Position wand for cleaning pass, work towards yourself gently, spray by squeezing the trigger on handle (don't hold Red Button). Must have the Vacuum button on the whole time to prevent oversaturation. 1 Ensure both hoses are connected (as pictured) Gently tug at the top of solution hose it should not come out by itself 2 To Re-connect. With One hand First Pull down the Brass Sleeve at the Bottom and HOLD IT THERE. Then Push in the Top Hose piece firmly with the other hand. Then Release the Brass sleeve. 3 Tug at the top of solution hose - it should not come out by itself. Repeat Step 2 if Required. Grey vacuum hose should be in Grey Cup on the left side. 1 Disconnect both hoses from the machine first. Push grey vacuum hose up and out (wiggle side to side if stuck) Push down brass sleeve and pull out top solution hose piece; out of machine. 2 To connect water hose to Wand, with One hand First Pull down the Brass Sleeve and HOLD IT THERE. Then Push in the Thin Hose piece from the Upholstery wand with the other hand. Then Release the Brass sleeve. 3 To connect the vacuum hose to the Wand hose. Hold vacuum hose from Upholstery wand and attach it to the Top piece of the Grey vacuum hose on the left side of Machine. 6 Setting Up the Machine / Assembly - Upholstery Cleaning 1 2 4 3 5 6 Solution hose connection for CARPET CLEANING Solution hose connection for UPHOLSTERY CLEANING Method of Cleaning Firstly ensure the machine is set up correctly as described above in 'Setting up the Machine' 1. Turn the White Switch to either 'Carpet' or 'Upholstery Hand Tool' Setting depending on requirements 2. Turn on the Black Vacuum Button. For Carpet Cleaning - Place the machine flat on the ground at the start of the room. Hold in the RED Button on the Handle continuously and continue holding while you walk backwards in a straight line for 1 - 2 sq metres. Overlap each cleaning pass. At the end of one cleaning pass. Repeat over the same area. The second pass without holding in the Red button. This is to extract all the water from the carpet and avoid oversaturation. For Upholstery Cleaning - Place the upholstery tool flat on the upholstery surface gently. Hold in the Lever on the handle of tool; this is the spray trigger. Guide the upholstery wand gently towards yourself along the surface in a straight line. Periodically stop holding in trigger, and repeat cleaning motion over the top of the wet area to extract the water from the upholstery straight away. This is avoid over-saturation. Do not continuously spray and drench fabric. 3. During the cleaning, if the machine stops spraying its likely you have run out of water. Dispose of the Dirty water from the White Bucket; and Refill the clean water in the Lower Red tank (halfway up filter). Re-dose the cleaning detergent and the antifoam solution. Dirty Water Disposal During your cleaning job, periodically check and dispose of the Dirty Water from the White Waste Water Tank. 1. First unclip the wire arm and flip over the Dome Lid. Pull out the White Bucket, (dirty water tank) carefully so as not to spill. 2. Dispose of the Dirty water, Pour in a fresh dosage of Anfifoam after each empty. Our Carpet detergent and Anfifoam is safe to dispose of in the garden or down a laundry sink. Packing up and Returning the Machine 1. After your cleaning needs are met, Dispose of the Dirty water from the White Tank 2. Thoroughly clean out the White Tank, Dome Lid and Filter, Upholstery wand; give machine a Wipe over with Soft cloth 3. Re-connect both hoses at the back to 'Carpet cleaning' setting. 4. Empty the Clean water Tank - By either taking outside or into a shower. Connnect hoses to back. Put onto Upholstery setting Water will continue to flow automatically from the bottom of the machine. Stop once the pump noise changes. Alternatively you can take out the White tank and lay machine on the side (outside in the garden) water can then drain from machine. 5. Return the Machine and parts to store before your 24 or 48 hour Hire period finishes 6. Once at the store, See the Front Service Attendant to have them Confirm receipt of All of the equipment & Clean condition.
