3 Reasons Why You’re Glutes Aren’t Growing.
So you have been doing numerous squat challenges for the past 2 months or so but you still not seeing the results that you desire.
You’re of course frustrated and now contemplating that perhaps surgery won’t be a bad option or you should try those ‘magic’ pills that promise results after 30 days or just give up altogether.
I can already hear it in your head and I do understand because I was once there.
But wait…
What if it’s something you’re doing absolutely wrong or something that you missing in your routine?
In this post, I give you just 3 reasons why your glutes aren’t growing and what you can do starting today to get that perky butt.
Let’s get right in…
1. You doing the same exercise every day.
There are so many butt challenges online today that it is easy to get mixed up which is the best. You probably have come across 30 day butt challenge or 1000 squat challenge. Don’t get me wrong, I hold nothing against these challenges because they work if you’re a beginner.
It’s, however, important to keep in mind that with time your body gets used to the same exercise and your muscles become dormant. Think of it this way, if you have a predictable routine with time you lose that spark because there’s nothing new. It’s the same with your glute muscles.
So what should you do?
Add Glute activation exercises in your routine
Squats are good for your butt but what’s even better are glute activation exercises. Varying your exercises will help you see results within a short period of time.
Examples are donkey kicks, fire hydrants, hip thrusts and glute bridges.
2. You lack Resistance in your Routine
If you are just beginning to workout then there’s no problem using your body weight for resistance.
You will, however, find that with time body weight isn’t enough and this is because you have been carrying yourself since birth so your exercises won’t be effective as they need to be.
So what should you do?
Start using resistance bands or weights
Resistance bands help to give your muscles a ‘shock’ that awakens them. Thickness vary to suit you whether you are a beginner, intermediate or experienced. They are good for home workout especially if you don’t have time to hit the gym.
You can also use weights (you will have to hit the gym though) but start with light weights. I will tell you the reason why you need to start small later on.
3. You’re overworking your muscles
When you starting out, it’s easy to walk in a gym and get tempted to start out with the heavy lifts just so you get quick results within the shortest time possible. Sometimes it could be working out daily to get fast results. Hold on… Our bodies don’t work like that. Overworking your body might actually give you the opposite effect which is your glutes not growing.
What should you do?
At maximum, workout for only 4 days a week. This helps your body to rebuild itself again and that is how you grow your glutes. For example, you can be working out on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and the rest of the days you rest.
In addition, don’t forget to feed your muscles with enough proteins.
Conclusion
There you go with the 3 reasons why your glutes aren’t growing. I guarantee that if you take action on all the suggestions given you will start to see remarkable results.
