How to Get a Clear Glowing Skin in Just 30 Days
Don’t you just envy how celebrities look flawless? No single scar, no acne mark, no freckles just a perfectly glowing skin and let’s not even mention how age never seems to catch up with them. You wonder can you ever have that perfect skin.
Truth is there’s no magic to get clear skin. Most of the celebrities have a skin care routine that they consistently follow and some use Botox and fillers. No human can be that perfect 365 days.
They do struggle with acne once in a while but they wouldn’t look that appealing to you if they didn’t Photoshop their pictures.
The good news is you don’t have to wait till the day you are super wealthy to have a glowing skin. You can start where you are today as soon as you get done with this post.
Having a good-looking skin only requires a little tweaks, and in this post I will give you 3 tips to having a glowing skin in the shortest time possible.
1. Have a Routine that you consistently follow
What you do repeatedly ultimately yields results so it’s important you have a routine using products that are best suited for your skin type.
A daily routine will include a morning and night routine. The three basic steps are:
Cleansing
The type of cleanser you use depends on whether you have dry, oily or sensitive skin.
If you have dry skin then go for cream or lotion based cleansers that have moisturizers such as Shea butter, coconut oil or coco butter.
For sensitive skin, you will oil cleanse using lightweight oils such as Argan, Jojoba, Rosehip and Baobab.
For oil skin, use a cleanser that foams (soap mostly)
Toning
Toners are used to remove dirt that may have remained after cleansing and balance skin Ph. level.
They also help tone your skin so it’s a MUST have.
Some of the best natural toners are:
Rose water which works on all skin types
Witch Hazel water if you have an oily skin
Green Tea if you have an acne prone skin
Hyaluronic acid to treat fine lines
Moisturizing
A moisturizer helps your skin to stay hydrated by preventing water loss.
For an oily skin a gel moisturiser will work best since they don’t clog your pores. For example Aloe Vera and Snail gel.
For dry skin, a cream moisturiser will be suitable e.g. Shea butter, coco butter will work for you.
For a normal skin, use oils such as coconut, carrot oil and Rosehip.
For a night routine, when toning use serums such as:
Vitamin c( it’s photosensitive hence irritating so you can’t use it during the day)
Kojic acid
Retinols
Niancimide
For a weekly routine, exfoliate just once using chemical exfoliants. Avoid abrasive scrubs (sugar scrubs are a NO for your skin) at all cost as they destroy your skin structure.
If you have an oily skin use mud masks weekly (I recommend Bentonite clay and Fuller’s earth clay) to absorb excess oils.
PRO tip: Use sunscreen as part of your daily routine to prevent hyperpigmentation.
2. Facial Yoga Exercises
If yoga is good for your body and soul, imagine what it could do for your face?
Facial yoga exercises work by strengthening your facial muscles and therefore make your skin tighter.
These exercises help in reducing wrinkle lines especially around your eyes and increase blood circulation.
If you want to see results do them daily for 10-20 minutes and do take before and after pictures to actually see the improvement.
I found this video helpful for those who want to start face yoga exercises.
3. Detox your Body and eat clean
Most skin problems are caused by toxins from the food we eat (think artificial flavours, colours) personal care products (deodorants, lotions, makeup) and environmental pollutants. When there’s too much toxins in your body, organs such as the kidney and liver start slowing down how fast they release waste from your body and therefore some are transferred to the skin
The problem on your skin might be your body screaming for help and that is why detox is important.
The best foods to help you detox are greens e.g. cucumbers, kales, spinach, broccoli, green tea, wheatgrass. They are packed with antioxidants and are natural blood detoxifiers.
They are, however, hard to drink straight (they’re bitter and honestly that green colour in your glass will scare you) so you will need a sweetener. For example, if you are drinking green tea add a little honey or if you making a green drink add some bananas or blueberries.
It also important to eat clean on a daily basis and no honey I don’t mean you go cold turkey and never eat pizza or drink sodas. All I’m saying is limit the processed and fatty foods and alcohol that you consume.
Eating fruits rich in Vitamin c(lemons, oranges, bananas, apples) can also improve your skin by fighting free radicals in your body that destroy your skin’s appearance.
You can also start taking warm lemon water and ginger water in the morning before you eat anything as a daily detox plan. If you have never eaten clean, then I would suggest keeping a journal where you track what you eat then make slight changes.
Conclusion
These are my top 3 ways for getting a clear and glowing skin so do try them and try as much as possible to use natural skincare products if you can.
