Cover Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Juane Vermaak, and I would like to express my interest in the roll that
your company currently has to offer. I have lived abroad (Australia) where I have
attended to an online learning platform and received two Certificates in Office
Practices and Introduction to Law and Legal Terminology. In my 3.5 years in Australia,
I have gained experience in a fast-paced legal and financial environment.
For two years, I was employed as an Office Administrator/ Legal Clerk at a wellknown Business Law Firm in Newcastle (Australia). In this well- diverse role I had a lot
of responsibilities that started with assisting in legal matters all the way to basic
accounting and bookkeeping, such as managing and overseeing our firm's trust
account. I have experience in drafting legal documents relating to Wills and Estate
planning, Employment Contracts, Legal Advice letters, drafting Statements of Claim
and Affidavits and filing/ presenting legal evidence in the local court. Part of my daily
responsibilities also included managing our firm's trust account, tracking incoming
and outgoing payments, reconciling the accounts and basic bookkeeping of the
accounts. I was also in charge of invoicing our clients and chasing debts where
necessary. Further to my role at Butlers Business Lawyers, I assisted in drafting the
correspondence for annual Superannuation Audits and Legal Trust Examinations.
I have recently joined an International Software company (bases in Australia) where I
am employed as Financial Administrator. Part of my daily duties require me booking
travel for our whole Business Unit's employees and managing the Expense Recovery
that is charged to our customers for contract related work. I manage and oversee
company spend according to budget and I am in charge of basic security systems. On
a daily basis, I also encode and maintain customer orders, manage Cost of Sale
invoices, preparing the Cost of Sale Maintenance Schedule and Reconciliation and
perform other month- end processes while adhering to strict and timely deadlines.
More recently, my manager has trusted me with our Accounts Receivable
department's duties. I am in charge of all the greater than 30- day debtors, and
correspond with our customers when they have enquiries regarding their bills. I also
assist with allocation payments against invoiced and offsetting credit where
necessary.
In my experience, I have gained immaculate attention to detail and have learned how
to perform well under pressure and in a very fast and busy work environment. I have
learned that working hard and expanding your range of knowledge goes a long way
and will contribute to my professional success.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Juane Vermaak
