It is one of the oldest stimulants known to mankind. You might know it as Marijuana. A name it earned from its original growers in Mexico, during the first half of the 20th century when it came to the limelight. People say it originated from Central Asia. It is in fact, included in the list of 50 fundamental herbs from Chinese medicine. Back then, there was plenty of mystique surrounding it before it became the recreational drug it is today.
You can smoke marijuana or ingest it. However, you can also opt for cannabis oil which is also known as Cannabidiol. In this article, we will refer to it as CBD.
What is CBD?
CBD is a chemical substance extracted from various varieties of cannabis. It belongs to a family of 85 substances known as cannabinoids that are all found in the hemp plant. The most common substances found in hemp is THC. This is the substance that makes you feel high. CBD, on the other hand, can not make you get high.
However, cannabinoids have been known to provide relief for people ailing from symptoms such as nausea, inflammation, and pain.
The best thing about CBD is it does not work against your body. It works with it instead. Your body has sectors called cannabinoid receptor sites. These areas make up the endocannabinoid system that is responsible for a number of mental and physiological processes within the body.
Here is the fun part, cannabinoids extracted from hemp can actually bind with these receptors to coordinate various functions within the body. CBD keeps these receptors working at optimal capacity and helps the function of all other cannabinoids.
CBD oil has long been known as a potent anti-cancer agent. It has the ability to interfere with intercellular communication in cancer tumours and can also instigate programmed cancer cell death.
Though not yet accepted by medical professionals, there’s a growing market for it.

It is also used to cure skin cancer but you do need a significant amount of cannabis from which you’ll extra the CBD oil to treat skin cancer. The best practice is to apply the oil on the skin and cover it with a clean bandage.
However, scientists still say that there’s a lot of research that has to be done on CBD. The indirect nature of its effects has made it difficult for scientists to pinpoint how it affects the body. Due to this reason, it has not yet been approved by Medical Organizations as a drug that can cure cancer. You will still find many testimonies online from people who used CBD oil as a last resort. They say that it helped cure them after other treatment processes failed.
What to Look for When Buying CBD oil
There are many oils available on the market as of January 2019. Different online shops have different prices that fluctuate with time.
You should first consider the following details before you buy CBD oil:
Concentration
As with most medicine, a higher dose of CBD oil will have a stronger effect. A first-time user should start with low to moderate concentration. Once their body adjusts, they can work their way up to higher concentrations.
Dosage Form or delivery Method
CBD oil should not be mistaken for other kinds of oils. It is available in various forms: hemp salve, CBD tincture or hemp capsules. You can also buy CBD oil as simple oil that can be inhaled using a vapor pen. Just choose the method that best suits your needs from the many options available.
Isolate or Full Spectrum Oil
When buying CBD oil, you’ll find that it comes in two variations: full spectrum oil and isolate CBD. Full Spectrum CBD contains other active hemp ingredients other than CBD. Isolate CBD is the substance formed when you only extract the CBD compound. Research shows that full spectrum oil is better than the isolate. The additional ingredients in the full spectrum produce a better result for the consumer
