How to improve on your communication skills and techniques
Introduction
Communication is simply imparting or exchanging information by speaking, writing or using some other medium. Every communication involves a sender, a message and a recipient. Communication is essential through which people interact, discuss, and share their ideas and perceptions. It acts as platform where people share feelings and about their surrounding environment. This essay aims to present effective approaches people employ to discuss on how to improve on communication.
Several communication skills and techniques are being practiced to effect communication among students to improve on their interactions. According to Raba (2017) learners feel more comfortable if they are given enough time to think and arrange their thoughts before expressing themselves. He elaborates this using a system he calls Think-Pair-Share.
The Think-Pair-Share strategy helps people communicating to be more interactive and enjoy their learning sessions. This technique alerts people to be more interactive making them confident and be able to share and speak their ideas with their peers. This improves their oral communication capabilities. This resonates with another method which is more integrated and incorporates both the traditional method of learning and technology known as blended
Blended learning encompasses several approaches of active-learning. Flip-Pair is one of the methods which engage learners when out of class. Using electronic gadgets, students will engage on online learning and later have a face to face discussion with their classmates with the help of their tutors. Additionally, (Kuromiya.etal.2020) has proven that the interaction of students and their lecturers during class session has improved significantly. Unlike the usual class whereas the tutor lecturers the students where they can be distracted during sessions, this is actively encouraging an individual student to work at their pace and motivates them that the subject is easy to tackle.
Conclusion
Speaking is an important part of everyone’s life. As a way of communicating, Tutors should ensure they impart skills and techniques to learners. This will not only help them to improve in their learning activities but also help them to effectively interact among themselves. Additionally, they need to improve the students’ capabilities to express themselves freely and at their own pace. Finally, the use of technology that helps learners be actively involved in learning is advisable during sessions to assist both the tutors and learners.
