PIXEL HUGS -Pilot- Written by Johan Adrián A little girl by the name “Lia” desires the company of her toys so much that she activates the Pixel Magic they contain. This allows her to enter “Pixelia” where she finds an amusement park with a roller coaster that promises granting her a wish. Up in the attraction she needs to get a magical bone that allows her wish to be granted. After learning more of her pets innate magical pixel abilities and escaping a vicious attack from an unknown foe, Lia wishes her dogs into existence as real-life pets. Now she has a magical secret to keep. 2. 1. INT. LIA’S BEDROOM - MORNING. 1. LIA’S POV She opens her eyes and sees two big gift boxes and a card that reads “Happy Birthday” on it. she finds Pinky and Blacky inside the boxes. Lia hugs the toys and jumps in happiness as she hugs them. Hearts and sparkles surround her. LIA ( Happy squeaky noises) 2. INT. LIA’S LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON. 2. Lia’s house is decorated for her birthday. She runs down the stairs playing with their new pet toys over the walls and the stair railing. CUT TO 3. DAYDREAM - EXT. AMUSEMENT PARK - DAY. 3. Lia plays with a real-life version of the dogs they enter the park and have cotton candy and soda, play video games, win prizes. Happy music in the background starts to fade away, replaced by the annoying tick tack from a clock. BACK TO 4. INT. LIA’S LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON. 4. Lia looks at the clock on the wall, it’s late. No kids showed up for her party. She places Pinky and Blacky next to the cake and takes a selfie with them. She looks sad. LIA ( cries inconsolably) She runs back to her bedroom. 5. INT. LIA’S BEDROOM - NIGHT. Sitting on the floor, Lia hugs their toy pets and gazes deeply into Pinky’s eyes. Everything dissolves around her as the gaze grows more intense. Their pupils dilate and the dog’s eyes pixelate. LIA ( Gasps in awe) A PIXEL-PORTAL opens up before them glowing and spewing out colors and magic. This PIXEL ENERGY touches the dogs and they become their pixelated versions. 5. 3. BLACKY ( Barks dubiously, electronically) PINKY ( Barks with EXTREME excitement, also electronically) LIA ( Wah Wah Talk) Oh, my god! The portal sucks everyone in and they fly toward Pixelia through a pixelated tunnel. TRANSITION 6. EXT. PIXELIA’S OPEN FIELDS - DAY. 6. A barren pitch-black space is suddenly invaded by three beams of colored light (red, green, blue) coming from different directions. They fuse ominously in a glowing white bubble in the center making a buzzing sound. Then the bubble explodes creating ripples of pixels that make everything up in pixelia. Flying mountains, a liquid crystal river, LED trees, and RGB pulsating crops create a mesmerizing world decorated by fantastic animals crossing the sky. One of them emits an electronic chirp as it flies toward a pixel version of Lia’s dreamed amusement park. They all follow it and run toward the park. TRANSITION 7. EXT. PIXELIA’S AMUSEMENT PARK - DAY. 7. Everything is like Lia saw back in her dream but now she’s drown to a magnificent roller coaster that stands as the main attraction. It has a sign that reads “MAKE A WISH” in big neon letters. And below, the flashing image a of a bone. Pinky and Blacky get super excited and drag Lia toward the roller coaster. They all get in the cars and a weird-looking guy (he wears a large trench coat with MARPAT camouflage) starts the controls for them. GLITCH ( Laughs maliciously, interrupted by a nasty cough) TRANSITION 4. 8. EXT. “MAKE A WISH” ROLLER COASTER - DAY. 8. In the final portion of the track lies a big bone glowing with magical energy. The carts rush fast in its direction, our three friends having a great time. Below them GLITCH takes an elevator to reach segment of the tracks. Once in a maintenance proceeds to remove his trench coat revealing less self consisting of an ever-changing and a distant platform he his true formfurious glitch. GLITCH ( Its voice a meat grinder) #$ ./%¡¿& %/Ñ{%$/ ?¡@#$ !¨*[!!! He extends an “arm” in the form of a buzzing chainsaw and cuts one of the support beams. Up in the cart everyone screams in terror as they see the upcoming section beginning to fail. Pinky is all over the place, and howls at the flying animal from before as he passes over their heads. The animal responds by vibrating its body and transforming it into a flying question mark for only a second. Pinky loses it. Beside her, Blacky has an idea. He focuses on the already broken track section and makes some calculations. He barks at Pinky and starts meditating. He then vibrates like the flying thing just did and transforms into a soldering machine. Pinky understands and follows him, transforming into spare metal for the track. LIA ( Wah Wah Talk) Woah, guys! The magic pixel dogs fix the track and get back in the car. Below them, Glitch escapes. They reach the magic bone and Lia grabs it, lifts it to the sky and hugs the dogs. CUT TO 9. DAYDREAM - INT. LIA’S HOUSE - DAY. 9. Lia plays with a real-life version of Pinky and Blacky: they order pizza and play video games at Lia’s house. BACK TO 5. 10. EXT. “MAKE A WISH” ROLLER COASTER - DAY. 10. The PIXEL PORTAL opens up before them once again and sucks them back into the real world. TRANSITION 11. INT. LIA’S BEDROOM - NIGHT. 11. Pinky and Blacky (still in pixelated form) undergo a transformation: they hover in the air in front of Lia’s face and start glowing. Pixel energy emitted by their bodies take the form of pixel hearts that meet with Lia’s own love-magic hearts coming out of her chest. The hearts fuse together and spew neon-pink lightning love that hits the dogs, turning them into real flesh-and-bone animals. LIA ( Gasps in infatuation) PINKY Barks in real dog. Excited as she can be. BLACKY Barks in real dog. In a deeper register. Calmer. LIA ( Losing it) Ahhhhhhhh! The now-real dogs jump over Lia and they all hug and make a big fuss. Someone knocks the door of her bedroom. LIA Oh, oh! FADE OUT. END
