Various locations from furniture stores to Wal-MartWalmart sell leather conditioner and cream you can occasionally apply (as often as directed on the bottle label) to the leather. This keeps it moisturized and extends the furniture life.
Usually, the leather furniture will have a tag on it or will have come with a pamphlet that will provide information on the type of leather it is and its proper cleaning care. Be sure to check this before trying any type of cleaning other than a clean cloth or vacuuming. If you can’t find any information on the tag or pamphlet, call the store you bought it from or a leather professional.
If you do spill a liquid on the leather, blot it dry with a soft cloth and let the area air dryair-dry. Don’t rub it! This will only cause the liquid to go further into the furniture rather than getting it out. If the liquid stains, consult a professional to remove the spot.
If greasy foods drops onto the leather, wipe it off like a liquid. Usually grease spots will gradually disappear over time. Leather tends to scratch easily, so be careful with anything sharp. Keep prints such as magazines and newspapers off the leather, as these can easily bleed on toonto the furniture and leave an imprint. If you read alota lot, keep a magazine rack or basket next to the furniture in order to have an easy place to throw your reading material when you’re done—rather than onto the chair.
Do not use car cleaners or baby wipes to clean up anything on the leather furniture. They can leave permanent stains. Do be sure, to immediately clean up any spills with a clean, soft cloth. The faster they are cleaned up, the better the chance of reducing any stains and retaining the leather’s natural appearance.
