Week Five (or later, if weeks three and four were extended) Think like Sherlock Holmes. Be sly. Be cool. You got this by now! Assemble a team meeting, and have a brief discussion including an analysis of your best three week’s SEO scores. Give credit where credit is due! Meanwhile, based on what you’ve learned so far, trust that you’ve made the best, most educated decision about what is your most effective SEO strategy, considering any positive changes in your SEO scores. Listen to your new resident SEO expert. Ensure that your resident SEO expert has all of your SEO optimized strategies integrated in any new content you publish during this break! Allow yourself to trust that the data analysts (e.g. Google Analytics, SEMRush, AHREFS, Moz) will continue to monitor your site, and the stats will be there if and when you need to see them. Stop looking at your SEO scores all of the time! What is wrong with you!? Seriously. What do you have to show for the time you’ve invested in SEO training and testing? Hold on– what do you have to show– for doing what you do best in your business activities? Release your frustration on high to the gods almighty! Carry on. Consider the direct marketing strategies you’ve tried and reflect upon any contacts you’ve made, no matter who they are. Reach out to likeminded site publishers with an offer to publish a link to their site, if they’ll do the same for you (ie. “b backlinks” have a weighted impact on your socalled SEO rating). Let it all go, but remember: you will revisit SEO in six months! Week Whatever it is now (when your break from SEO is over) • Do a “week one / week two” routine (2 weeks) to get back in gear • Week Three transformed: Back to it, after your six month break from SEO! Here your team will begin an aggressive six month SEO campaign, modeling the concept of the two week campaigns you started after training. Your results will be more dramatic from the insight you’ve gained while experimenting with different SEO data analysts.
