Mentality of Eagle. What can we learn from the behavior of Eagle?
The eagle is one of the unique birds among all other birds. In the avian world, eagles
rank at the top of the food chain as apex predators. These are not small birds; they are
large and achieve great feats in their lifetime.
One of the unique things about the eagle is that they are revered and recognized in
almost every culture and religion all around the world.
We have arts, symbols and sculptures depicting the eagle on national flags, coat of
arms, emblems, logos and so on.
There’s got to be something awesome about this bird that everyone recognizes.
If so, what is it?
What can we learn from this bird as humans?
More so, what can we learn as Christians from this amazing creation of God?
Isa. 40:31, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on
wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Yes, we can learn from the eagle both as people, and as Christians. It’s all in the mind,
a mindset, that we will need this understanding. It will typically revolutionize your outlook
on life and your entire lifestyle. You will find yourself getting strange and powerful
outcomes out of life. Why, because, you will change mental pedestals, from being a
bottom feeder to an apex predator, achieving great feats and winning ways.
Yes, you can. You only need that mental overhaul as you are already doing with this
message.
The Eagle Mentality
VISION
Eagles are known for their extremely powerful eyes, with some having up to 8 times the
visual acuity than those of the human eye. The visual acuity of the eagle, therefore,
allows it to spot prey from very long distances and go for the hunt even before the prey
knows it has been spotted. By the time the prey realizes this, it is usually too late.
Job 39:27-29, Does the eagle soar at your command and build its nest on high? It
dwells on a cliff and stays there at night; a rocky crag is its stronghold. From there it
looks for food; its eyes detect it from afar.
Many of us struggle to find our way or make a mark in life. You why, because we don’t
see far. We lack the vision required. Think about this, almost everything you do
regularly starts with a vision. Your mind pictures you there, then your body goes there.
Let’s say you feel thirsty. Your mind pictures where water should be – somewhere in the
kitchen or fridge. In your mind’s eye, you see yourself getting up and heading there,
taking the water and drinking it. All this happens in a split second, and then leaves you
with the choice to decide whether you will get up and go get the water or not.
When you do, you have brought that vision to reality, and when you don’t, the vision in
your mind’s eye is unfruitful.
Proverbs 29:18, Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is
the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.
Similarly, vision-mindedness is something we can learn from like the eagle. It is a
feature that makes it a powerful creature.
Where do you see yourself in few years? What do you want to do? What do you want to
be known for? Let that drive home into your mind for a moment.
Start with the small steps. See into the nearest future the picture of the life you desire.
See yourself doing the things you are supposed to be doing, saying the things you are
supposed to be saying and having the things you are supposed to be having.
No great change just happens, my friend, it starts with a vision. When there’s something
to pursue, there is motivation to chase it.
Hab. 2:2, Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets
so that a herald may run with it.
What picture are you seeing? The prey or the predator?
Remember, what you see, you can become.
