How to let God handle your burden
Burdens come in different shapes and forms. Some we can handle, and some we can’t,
no matter how hard we try. When faced with such massive mountains, it can be quite
challenging to keep going.
I couldn’t go to School
I remember back in my senior high school year, I was home for almost a year because
my mum couldn’t pay my school fees. It was very challenging for me both emotionally
and in my academic journey.
I was the best in my class, but while everyone else was in school, I was home. Being
the best student was not enough to keep me in school.
I decided to trust God with this because it had become a burden to me. I gave it all over
to Him and told Him, “Well, if you can’t do anything about it, then there is no hope for
me” Somehow, it seemed He just flooded me with peace during this time. Like He was
saying,
“Be anxious for nothing… let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of
God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ” – Phil. 4:6-7
God showed up and it was like a Dream
Before the school year ended, a breakthrough came. My mum paid the school fees
completely and I resumed school.
Furthermore, as if adding a bonus, I received a full scholarship that would carry me until
graduation. It was like a dream, but I knew it was a miracle and God was responsible.
God never said there would be no burdens
The thing with life’s burdens, whether with school, job, family, bills, and so on, is that
they do not only affect you. They can extend to things and people you love.
For example, the burden in a person’s heart can affect their relationships with other
people and their attitude towards life. I believe you can relate with what I’m talking
about.
You see, nowhere in the scripture did God say life itself was burden-free. Instead, the
Bible does say trouble was something all men would face at one point or another.
