HOW TO DECORATE YOUR LIVING ROOM The living room is the most important part of the house. This is where people sit when they are not sleeping; they relax, watch TV or even hold conversations. It’s also the area where we welcome our visitors before ushering them to the rest of the house. How you arrange or decorate your living room says a lot about you as a person and also your lifestyle Different people have different tastes and preferences, there are those who are into arts, others are lovers of photographs and others still love beautiful furniture. You can have all this in your living room so as to make it more comfortable and cozy. Today we look at how we can decorate this most important room in our houses. 1. FURNITURE Furniture has to be family friendly for example white is a good color in a house that has children. Also, choose durable fabric such as leather for the couches. Low furniture, short pieces like stuffed couch keep an open floor plan. Swap boring shelves for more decorative options such as fabric, boxes or baskets to hide overflow of knick-knacks, 2. ART Empty walls are a sign of an incomplete room. Decorating the walls with art is very key. They don’t have to be expensive or all over the walls. Follow your instincts when it comes to the selection of the art you want in your living room. 4. LIGHTING Lighting is kind if a complex element in every room. In the living room, it’s less than in rooms like the kitchen. There are still important considerations to note when deciding on the lighting of the living room. There are three main types of lighting; Ambient, Tasks, Accent. All these types need sampling then after that placed at different levels in the room.
