Newly Enrolled students survey Fall 22
A survey was conducted during Fall 22 inorder to upgrade the learning experience of
newly enrolled students and to make their time at the university more enjoyable and
memorable. The main and primary objective of the survey is to understand the decision
making criteria of newly enrolled students at International Islamic University. The result
and summary of which is as follows.
Summary of results.
The first and foremost question was related to information regarding the participants'
degree programs and their respective faculty. The result showed that around 52.5% of
the participants belong to the engineering and technology department. 27.5% belong to
Management science department, 17.5% belong to language and literature department
while the remaining few belong to Arabic and Basic and applied science and computing
and education departments.
The second question consisted of further details asking the students to elaborate the
names of their departments. The result of this was analyzed by using a frequency table
which showed that the majority of the respondents belong to the department of
Electrical and computer engineering followed by Business administration, technology
and project management. After whom, came the students from the department of
English language and literature. Students from the Faculty of management sciences

and mechanical engineering and technology were the last bit of the majority. While the
students from departments such as Arabic, public administration and computer
engineering comprised 1% of the respondents.
The section which follows asked the students to specify the title of the degree they are
enrolled in. The results show that the highest number of respondents belong to
Electrical engineering followed by students of English then students of Business
Administration and Computer engineering and Public administration. And at the end the
last bit of participants belong to degrees related to Mechanical engineering and
technology, Commerce, Project management and engineering technology.
When it came to analyzing which campus the participants belonged to, the result
showed that 63.7% respondents were female while 36.3% were male.
The next question that was asked, was about the top three social media platforms the
students were using, the frequency chart of which is as follows:

Subsequently, the other question asked about how many hours do the students study in
a week. To which 35% students replied to study more than 10 hours, 36.3% replied
between 7-10% hours, 25% replied 4-6 hours and 13.8% replied 1-3 hours.
When asked “What are the top three reasons that you selected International Islamic
University over other universities? Reason 1” the answers were as follows:

The majority and main reason was that of the university having a separate
female campus.

teachings.

13. Transport is almost free and covers a vast range of areas.

Coming on to the next question, the participants were asked “which ones were the three
