32 Weeks Pregnant
At 32 weeks of pregnancy, the position of your baby is head pointing downward also known as
the cephalic presentation. At this stage, the size of your baby is about the size of a squash and
your baby is still growing strong. Your belly measures about 30 to 34 centimeters from the top of
the uterus to the pelvic bone.
32 Weeks pregnant Symptoms

Headaches and Dizziness are the most common symptoms during the 3rd trimester. It
occurs due to changing hormones and lowering blood pressure. Discussing these
problems with your doctor is good because you never know when you may need
immediate medical treatment.

Heartburn is a burning pain in your chest. During pregnancy, the valve at the entrance
of your stomach relaxes causing acidic contents from your stomach to move upward into
the esophagus. This is commonly known as Acid reflux. Antacids are mostly used to
treat heartburns because they are considered safer to use during pregnancy.

Vaginal Discharge increases during this stage to reduce the risks of vaginal and uterine
infections. But the important thing to keep in mind is to note its color and density. If it is
watery then it is normal but if you observe blood then you must consult your doctor
immediately.

Darker Nipples: Your nipples may get darker at this stage. It is not exactly proved why
they get darker but there are studies that prove that it happens so that the baby can see
them better for breastfeeding.

Lower Back Pain: At this stage lower back is normal. Sometimes the pain is very much
intense and walking gets difficult for you. It mostly occurs due to the head down
positioning of your baby towards your cervix.

Your baby weighs 3.7 to 3.8 pounds and measures approximately about 16.8 inches.

Your baby’s all senses including hearing are in action. So you should be talking and
hearing good positive things as it highly affects your baby.

Your baby becomes more crowded in your uterus so you may have noticed a change in
your baby’s movement.

The baby’s skin starts thickening and looks more like your skin. Previously the skin used
to be transparent whereby exposing vital organs.

The baby’s eyebrows, nails, eyelashes, and the hairs on his/her head are more
apparent.

The size of your baby’s arms and legs are full-figured in corresponding to the size of the
head.
What To Eat During This Week And Why
●
Iron Needs: During the 32 weeks of pregnancy your body volume increases 40 to 50
percent. A low hemoglobin level can be a risk. A protein called hemoglobin carries
essential oxygen in your red blood cells (RBC) and iron helps RBC to carry oxygen
throughout your body efficiently. Oxygen cannot be carried without iron so you should be
eating iron-rich foods like,

○ Whole Grains
○ Dried Fruits
○ Leafy Green Vegetables
○ Peanut Butter
Alternatively, you could also take iron supplements after consulting with your doctor in case if
needed.

Calcium Needs: At this stage, your baby’s bones are still in the developing process so
taking calcium is mandatory for you. If you do not take enough calcium then you will lose
calcium from your bones and teeth. If you are not taking enough calcium then your body
will automatically release calcium for your baby. To maintain your calcium level include
these items in your diet and stay healthy,

Vitamin D Needs: Vitamin D regulates the level of phosphorus and calcium in a
mother’s body. Babies developing bone can start to soften due to insufficient amounts of
Vitamin D.Mothers are expected to take 10 micrograms of Vitamin D every day during
pregnancy.

Oily fish no more than 2 servings (140g or 4.9oz) per week as oily fish can contain toxins
Egg yolk (1 large egg is about 17 g and constitutes 37.1 IU of VItamin D)
Mushroom ( 100 g of mushroom constitutes 7 IU of Vitamin D)
What Not To Eat During During This Week And Why

Cured Meats: It’s better not to eat cured meat in the entire month of pregnancy, not just
in the 32nd week. Food poisoning is common by eating cured meats like salami and
chorizo. Cured meat can cause listeriosis and toxoplasmosis.

Soft cheese: At this stage, it’s better for you to stay away from soft cheese. Soft cheese
is mostly made up of raw milk include feta and brie. Soft cheese contains more moisture
which can be good territory for injurious bacteria like listeria to grow in.

Fried Foods: During the 32nd week of pregnancy fried foods should be completely
avoided. Fried foods can increase their nutritional value. Fried foods are also the main
cause of gastrointestinal issues like heartburn, indigestion which are very much irritating
during pregnancy.

Fish: We should not eat certain kinds of fish like shark, swordfish, and marlin. The
baby’s nervous system is highly affected in case you eat any one of these because they
all contain high levels of mercury.

During This Week
At this stage different problems like heartburn, back pain, sleep challenges, frequent urination,

some exercises and workouts for better comfort.

Walking: It is the most easily accessible exercise you can do at this stage. The only
main thing which you will need to perform this exercise is comfortable shoes. But the
important thing to keep in mind is to start walking slowly which is good for you and for
your baby. Walking can reduce back pain and sleeping problems and helps you feel

Swimming: Another great exercise at this stage is swimming. Swimming is good
because water helps us to relieve stress and joint pain.

Pregnancy yoga utilizes unwinding and breathing methods with postures that are

Pelvic Floor Exercises: These exercises help us to build up the pelvic floor muscles.
