Effects of the Pandemic
When the New Year began everyone was expecting their wishes were going to be a
success or they will be on the right path to achieving them in the future. However a deadly
disease has put a stop to all of that. In this channel we are going to talk about why, where,
when and how about all things that is current affairs. However during these dire times our
channel will be concentrating about the pandemic.
In today’s video we will look at the impact of this pandemic on the global economy and
how affecting one field can lead to a linchpin effect. For example I was working in the
tourism industry and we were affected the first by an economic downturn. The linchpin
effects can be explained in my industry, People stop travelling which affected the airplane
industry then hotels and sightseeing’s. Also their market gets affected which affects the
global economy.
In India a country with 1.3 Billion people it’s tough to control the spread of the disease so
they have put artificially crafted lockdowns and they have cancelled the flights both
domestically and internationally which has made an impact on the economy. This is not
affecting just the air travel but any mode of travels and also a huge blow to cargo lines
which will showcase its impact shortly in the year.
Since authorities can’t rely on people following social distancing big gatherings must be
cancelled indefinitely which means all forms of entertainment will be affected hugely
from carnivals to theatres releasing the brand new films. Therefore this pandemic as
brought the entertainment industry to its knees by not letting them shoot and release
their finished products. It’s also not helpful when big characters such as Tom Hanks & Idris
Elba have contracted the virus.
People also are frustrated without the availability of any form of sports. NBA, NFL,
Football, Cricket, F1 & Wimbledon have all been cancelled or put on hold due to the
pandemic and rightfully so. The NBA Star who mocked the virus and touched all the mikes
at the press conference contracted the virus and spread it to his teammates and to big
time football players contracting the virus has even made the Olympic committee to
postpone the grand event.
This is affecting the industries such as spa and beauty where people are meant to be
touched and social distancing is something which they cannot follow. This also extends to
gyms and training centres will suffer the same since they are crafted to have human to
human contact.
As discussed above plenty of industries are affected by this outbreak. Like the vegetable
vendors to five stars restaurants to farmers who are struggling to move their products to
people all around the country and the world. Even big companies are struggling with their
employees working from home and after the lockdown they are thinking about mitigating
their workforce to work remotely.
Governments thought the world have taken % from their GDP for bailing our big
businesses and small ones to keep them afloat during this crisis so is India which has
announced several care packages which hopefully would make the economy afloat in our
country and would help the people all over the states and union territories.
