Hint System
Suggestion on Command Overlap:
The hint system performed well overall. 89% of the time
the hints possessed clear enough direction to guide me
through the stages, especially as the difficulty increased
from Level 07 onwards. This was a significant factor in
keeping the gameplay experience smooth and frustration
free. The hints struck a good balance between being
helpful without completely giving the puzzle away which is
exactly what a good hint system should do.
There is a relevance conflict between the Repeat
Instruction (J) and the Repeat Last Conversation (L)
commands. Both serve a similar purpose and end up
competing with each other. Since (L) already covers
repeating conversations consider repurposing or
removing (J) to keep things clean.
The one exception worth noting is Level 08 where even
after going through the hints multiple times I still found
myself working through the level for a while. This is likely
the point where the new mechanics are introduced and
the hints may benefit from a little more clarity specifically
at that stage to help players make the connection faster.
Suggestion on Time Travel Key:
The Backspace key would feel more natural as the
command to end time travel. It carries an intuitive sense
of reversing or undoing something which matches the
action perfectly.
Command Keys and Controls
Overall the command key layout is intuitive and well
thought out. The simplicity of keys like T for time travel,
R for restart and ESC to pause feels natural and easy to
remember. That kind of clean design makes the game
accessible without needing a tutorial for every action.
Bug Found:
Genesis Level 03 The Repeat Instruction command (J) did
not work on Genesis Level 03. This is worth investigating
as it directly affects players who may have skipped the
intro conversations and need a quick reminder of the
instructions mid level.

Difficulty Progression
The difficulty curve from Level 07
onwards is very well designed. It
challenges the player to slow down and
think carefully which adds genuine value
beyond entertainment. Level 08 was the
most challenging of the session even after
reviewing the hints multiple times. This is
likely where new mechanics are
introduced and the hints may benefit
from a little more clarity at that stage.
Summary of Issues and
Suggestions
Bug: Repeat Instruction command
(J) not functioning on Genesis
Level 03.
Review hints for Level 08 to add
more clarity around new
mechanics.
Review overlap between (J) and (L)
commands and consider
consolidating.
From Level 09 onwards once the new
strategy clicked the levels felt well
balanced. They still required genuine
thinking but the learning curve had
leveled out in a satisfying way.
Consider assigning Backspace as
the key to end time travel.

Final Note
3.7 hours in one sitting and not a single moment of
boredom. That is genuinely impressive for a puzzle
game.
The hint system working effectively 90% of the
time played a big role in keeping the experience
enjoyable rather than frustrating. The balance
between challenge and engagement is well handled
and the storyline keeps you invested throughout.
Chronigma is a well crafted game and with the few
tweaks suggested in this report it has the potential to
deliver an even more polished experience for
players. Great work to the entire team.
