Life is like a One-way Street
Life is like a one-way street. We can’t make a 180 degree turn to undo the course of action or replace a part of the route through a detour. Nevertheless, we drive our own life, we maneuver toward a predetermined direction and even elude a precipitous slope. It keeps going forward while passing through bumps, ditches, and fissures and no matter how long the journey takes, at the loose end of the race, it will always lead us to the grinding halt.
There is always an uncertainty in life’s brevity. It is here today but gone tomorrow. We couldn’t yet fathom at once why it is how we are or what we are for until we are robbed off of time along the way. Without considering our trajectory, we will never know what we are living for. We will be misdirected or worst, we live one way or another only to be tossed into the vanishing shadows of memories.
It is important to know which horizon we are heading to than drift aimlessly while going through. We don’t have all the time in the world to procrastinate or engage in some frivolous or diversionary activity. Each day we spend is paid by our fleeting and precious time. Consequently, it is pragmatic to deal with the ups and downs, ebb and flow, and pass through the highs and lows, peaks and troughs. These teach us valuable lessons that translate the meaning of life.
As a human being, we are still fragile and vulnerable for the verity that we are not perfect. Sometimes, we can pass through a dark tunnel that would cause us an existential despair. Verily, we can have a psychological quirk and idiosyncrasy in a moment of indiscretion. Yet, this harrowing situation nonetheless builds experience. Eventually, we can see that there is light at the end of the tunnel after we showed our resiliency in overcoming the horrors that we live by.
This is life. The unfathomable and uncertain attribute of this enigma further makes it more precious because in these reasons we are bound to live life to the fullest. We continue to span the stretch of this one-way street according to our own turning wheel. When all are said and done, we ourselves are the ones who make our own victory.
