BANDAFRIC TOUR & TRAVEL UI APP BandAfric is a tour and travel business based in Nairobi, Kenya. They lacked any online presence, I was tasked with re-designing their logo and designing the UI for the Android app. Client Brief Summary: We would like for you to design our business logo and the front end design of an Android App. The reason we focus on Android is because majority of Kenyans use Android devices. tĞĐƌĞĂƚĞƚŽƵƌĂŶĚŇŝŐŚƚƉĂĐŬĂŐĞƐĂŶĚǁŽƵůĚůŝŬĞŽƵƌĐůŝĞŶƚƐƚŽǀŝĞǁƚŚĞŵĨĂƐƚǁŝƚŚŽƵƚǁĂƐƟŶŐƟŵĞǁŝƚŚŝƌƌĞůĞǀĂŶƚ designs. At the moment we are limited to Kenya and the main regions are Desert, Beach and Mountain. Design Focus What I got from the ŵĞĞƟŶŐƐŝƐƚŚĂƚĂŶĚĨƌŝĐ clients loved South Coast more than the other ĚĞƐƟŶĂƟŽŶƐ͘dŽĂǀŽŝĚƵƐŝŶŐ an image of a beach as the main cover (the client warned against that), I decided to use an image ƚŚĂƚŵŽƐƚŽĨƚŚĞƐƚĂīůŝŬĞĚ͘ This was well received. As ĨŽƌƚŚĞůŽŐŽ͕ƚŚĞƐĞƩůĞĚĨŽƌ the one on the above image. I used Zilap Africa font. BandAfric’s main focus is ƚŽƵƌĚĞƐƟŶĂƟŽŶƐ͘dŚĞLJ customize tour packages ƚĂƌŐĞƟŶŐŵŽƌĞƚŚĂŶŽŶĞ region. Their secondary focus is travel, they work together with travel agencies in order to come up with ĂīŽƌĚĂďůĞŇŝŐŚƚƐĨŽƌƚŚĞŝƌ visitors. The tour packages are carefully designed by their team. According to their brief, I was to focus on their 3 regions (Desert, Beach and Mountain). I was informed not to focus ŽŶƚŚĞ&ůŝŐŚƚƐĞĐƟŽŶ͘KŶĐĞ the client clicks on the ŇŝŐŚƚƉĂĐŬĂŐĞ͕ŚĞŽƌƐŚĞ will be directed to the travel agency’s website. I used Chalbi Desert, Diani Beach and Mount Kenya as ƚŚĞŵĂŝŶĚĞƐƟŶĂƟŽŶƐĨŽƌ this design, thanks to the ƐƚĂī͘ The client did not want more than 3 packages displayed. Their focus was simplicity. KŶĐĞƚŚĞǀŝƐŝƚŽƌƐĐůŝĐŬŽŶ one of the packages, he or she will be able to view details of each day. BandAfric insisted on having a simple design. They wanted to display one day per page to avoid ĐůƵƩĞƌ͘ The packages must be shareable, also the ƚĞŵƉĞƌĂƚƵƌĞĂŶĚůŽĐĂƟŽŶ icon to be included.
