Emily!
Did you ever stop to think about just how much you — a single, flawed and probably
sleepy person — are personally responsible for?
Chances are your to-do list looks something like this: pick up the laundry, schedule out
Instagram for the week, pay invoices, send invoices, cook dinner, take Sarah to soccer
practices, get your aunt’s birthday gift in the mail, clean the house, mow the lawn, pay
your phone bill, etc.
It’s no wonder things fall through the cracks on an occasional or semi-weekly basis.
IT’S TOO MUCH.

Modern society has brainwashed us into thinking we have to do it all. That if we don’t
succeed at every single task thrown our way, we’ve failed.
But that’s simply not true.
Life is hard, and more often than we’d care to admit, we could use a little help. So rather
than bugging your mom or your sister to lend a hand— why not hire someone you can
trust to take certain tasks off your plate every single day?
You don’t have to be rich, famous or Kylie Jenner to have a virtual assistant. But you do
have to have some ideas in place as to what you’ll use them for. How about managing
your household?
Your VA can manage your home.

Calling all working moms: how hard is it to keep up with every home repair, pile of
laundry and dirty sink?
Whether you’re holding down the fort for you, your roommates or your husband and
three kids, managing a household is a big job. And when you’re also running a business,
it can become too big of a job for one person to handle. So why not let your VA take care
of some of that for you?
Your VA can:
Manage contractors. Whether you need a plumber to fix a sink or you’re trying
to remodel your kitchen, your VA can book their appointments to coincide with
your calendar.
Book your cleaning lady. Your VA can research the best cleaning lady and
schedule regular cleanings into your calendar.
Book your personal appointments. Whether it’s a checkup at the dentist or a
last-minute visit with your dermatologist, your VA can book and schedule
appointments for you and your family. This is especially useful if your partner
works full-time as well.
Not only can having a virtual assistant improve your business life, but he or she will level
you up in so many ways in your personal life. And even if you think you can do it all, we
could all use a little more free time.
Which you could use to be more considerate in your personal relationships, or...
Your VA can make you more thoughtful.

We all know how easy it is to forget a birthday or an anniversary — and how much our
forgetfulness can hurt the ones we love. Rather than disappoint your mother again this
year, your VA can keep you on the ball and fully involved with your personal
commitments.
Even beyond that, they can make you the coolest person around.
Let your VA:
Send flowers and birthday cards. You can even have them wish people happy
birthday on your behalf. They can even book a restaurant for your anniversary so
you won’t forget. You’ll never buy another belated card again.
Make your Christmas list. Rather than spending hours online trying to find the
perfect gift, have your VA do all the research for you. You’ll be less stressed and
your loved one will get the perfect gift.
Plan a great date. You don’t have to pull out all the tricks to impress your next
Tinder date. Have your VA book a table or find a place to grab a quick drink.
Book travel and reservations. Got a hot date and need to find a romantic
restaurant in town? Have a last minute flight you need to catch to make an
important conference? Your VA has got you covered.
Plan a whole roster of fun events. Are you super into yoga? Your VA can find
all the best yoga events in your area and put them on your calendar. Whatever
you’re into, be it running groups, dance classes or slam poetry, you’ll find yourself
at all the hottest spots, all the time.
Your life outside of work should be fun, not more work to make it fun. Giving all that
research and planning over to your VA just gives you more time to enjoy your life.
Some people think if they just had a few more versions of themselves, then they’d be
able to do it all. But truth be told, even if science advanced enough so we could clone
ourselves into multiples, we still wouldn’t be able to do it all — because we’re not
naturally good at everything.
That’s why finding out what your VA is good at and then giving them tasks where they
can exercise their skills, will elevate you, your business and your life to the next level.

Different personality types excel in different areas. We can’t help what our natural talents
are, and we’re far more likely to be successful when we focus our time and energy on
growing the skills we’re already pretty good at.
Which — hint hint — are the skills we actually enjoy.
It’s easy to feel like you need to have your hand in everything, doing every job and
making sure all systems in your life are running smoothly. While it’s important to know
the ins-and-outs, you don’t have to do everything.
In fact, you’ll find that as you start to delegate and free up your time for the things that
really matter, that’s when you really start to skyrocket. That’s when you actually start to
become that better person you’ve always been trying to be.
So take the next step in your personal and business development journey and learn how
to hire the kind of help that will make your life easier. Get yourself a Christmas present
