In accordance to McDonnell, change is always evolving not a stagnant thing and it is essential to not start implementation of a change just for the sake of it. It is crucial to anticipate how things in the environment of the market may either affect positively or negatively the organisation in the future and have a plan of getting ahead of the effects through making any changes. In addition, he stated that there is likelihood of resistance no matter the magnitude of the change. The resistance can be countered by issuing much information and clarity by the management as possible as it can. It is important to note that, many people are afraid of what they do not know, not necessarily the change itself.
There are many different reasons behind the emanating of conflict in the workplace but in my opinion I believe that most conflicts originate from lack of information and understanding. In some cases if the workers do not understand the reason why a change is made or why a change has not been made, there is likely of suspicion which creeps in and affect the working attitude, respect and trust. Communication is paramount to resolving a conflict and prevention of resistance in an organisation. Both the management as well as the workers need openly communicate their concerns as well as their rationale in order for them to be at the same bar towards the ultimate objectives and goals of the organisation.
