From this week’s Taormina’s scenario, I have learned that the initial costs of setting up Computer Based Trainings (CBT’s) can be expensive if the organisation chooses to create a customized system. After those costs, CBT’S can provide an organisation with a 24 hour trainer which has virtually unlimited capacity. Trainees and trainers do not have added expense of travelling for training, and a CBT system can be customized to focus on individual training sections of material required by each person being trained. Generally, the costs and time of training required can be significantly decreased. In addition, CBT’s can provide comfort and flexibility. It allows the trainees to work at pace and style of their own while learning, both which can be adjusted to match the trainees needs. Also, the immediate feedback of the CBT allows trainees to review sections in the material as required.
