Week 2 Discussion
Organizational Development (OD) and Strategy
In this week study scenario I have learned that Organizational development (OD) is a strategy that is used to change the culture, belief, and attitudes of an employee to improve challenges or adapt new ideas that will aid in the success of the organization. Many organizations focus on employees as it pertains to OD however, focus should also be given to understanding the goals, value, culture, or desired culture to increase business performance. Once an organization can identify and bridge the gap between employee and organizational culture, a business can redesign a program or process that meet the needs of the business and individual.
In my current position, the use of organizational development is constantly being exercised to increase business performance. It has been using various programs to increase organizational development such as team building and use of performance appraisal to all the workers of the organisation.
