Ghost stories
The Scream behind
the Door
By: Ed Kennedy Barte
CHAPTER ONE
12:00 AM
A loud scream echoed in the next room. The voice sounds as if it came from
the graveyard, it sends a cold sweat to everyone who hears it. The scream which
everyone wish to vanish in the thin air.
I glanced at my sister lying beside me. Her eyes were wide open as she
stare at the wall clock. We are scared and I admit that my knees are shaking. I
gulped and I stood up. Every midnight that scream bothers us but our parents
didn’t believe when we told them about the scream. Now, it happened again.
My sister grabbed my hand and her eyes were pleading.
“Don’t go, Charlotte. Don’t leave me here. I’m scared.”
I pat her hair. “Come with me, no matter what happened we will find out
what is that scream all about.”
She nodded and stood up.
I hugged my sister and I felt her trembling. I smiled at her to assure her
that everything will be fine. I gulped once again before I opened the door. A dark
and deserted room faced us. There is a weird feeling that covers the whole room, a
feeling that no one can’t ignore.
I felt my sister’s hand want to stop me but I stepped forward. The mirror in
front of us shattered into pieces and the paintings in the wall dropped on the
floor.
“Aaaaaaaah!” we ran off.
