Project Patch wanted a much more positive and reinforcing message- a helping hand to say that it’s okay, it’s not easy for anyone, and there’s help available if you need it. Consumers Energy Demand Response Program: The Commercial and Industrial Demand Response Program at Consumers Energy is designed to help reduce strain on the electric grid during times of high demand. (Like super hot days when everyone uses their AC.) By shifting energy use to times of lower demand, large-scale businesses help the utility avoid using extra power plants to keep up with demand, and that’s a plus for the environment. The company offers financial incentives to sign up for the program, and it’s also a great way to show customers, shareholders, and investors that a business is serious about sustainability. This ad in Crain’s Detroit Business is meant to highlight the full value of the program for facility/sustainability managers and other business leaders.
