Laniba shines in National Lumens Award
DAVAO DEL NORTE – Columnist, writer, author, painter, politician, and Roman Catholic Devotee Allan L. Laniba is the province's pride after his managed electric cooperative landed as the Elecric Cooperative of the Year during the Lumens Award, last Friday at the Big 8 Hotel, Tagum City.
Lumens Award is the prestigious award system for the 122 electric cooperatives in the country and the yearly awarding system is for the most efficient, effctive and performing electric cooperative. "We are most proud and most happy with the award," Board President Cornelio Q. Brazil, Leyte Electric Cooperative Inc. III, said.
Leyeco III, since its inception on 1975, achieved the award and another 2 more major awards for the first time.
The electric cooperative bagged the highest Triple A award, an award given to an electric cooperative with excellent operation. Another award is Single Digit System's Loss Award, an award that determines the reliability of electricity service.
Leyeco III also received 2 special citations for Task Force Lawin and Task Force Nina.
The delegation of Leyeco III did not expect that they will snatch five awards especially after Typhoon Yolanda on 2013.
General Manager Allan L. Laniba took the award as a personal achievement as the electric cooperative was at its worst state in the entire Region 8 since his assumption in 2013.
