Iniubong Umoren
Iniubong Umoren: A
Lesson for Job Seekers
When I watched Arise News this morning and saw the news
coverage about this poor young woman, I literally cowered in
fear. The young lady in question is a 26 year old is a graduate of
University of Uyo and met her Waterloo after a man by the
name of Mr Uduak Akpan lured to a fake job interview on April
29, killed her and then buried her remains in a shallow grave in
his father’s compound.
She was declared dead on April 30 and just recently got buried
and as a result, the story started gaining momentum as of
recent.
What really sickened me the most about this incident was Mr
Akpan admitting to using reverse psychology to manipulate this
poor lady. To quote him: “She (Ms Umoren) came for a
supposed job interview in which I used reverse psychology on
her. I asked her if she can work in a farm where hard drugs are
kept as a secretary and she said she can — that she’s ready to do
the job.”
“When she came, I revealed to her that this farm does not exist.
There is no farm like that. It was just a hoax. I told her that
before she leaves that I would like to have sex with her and she
agreed. She gave a condition that I should use a condom, which
I did. While I removed the condom, she became furious. She
took a nearby stabiliser to hit me on my head and she bit my left
ring finger and tried to reach for the wall, screaming. “While I
was bleeding, in a bid to stop her, I used the same stabiliser to
hit her. She fell and started bleeding.”
The stabliliser according to various news sources was a pressing
iron.
The fact that he admits to hurting no more than six other
women the same way shows how disgusting of a man that he is.
So to all you job seekers out there. Be warned. Let her case serve
as a lesson to all of us. Do not ever drop your guard. Be careful
with some of these online job postings. You never know which
devil could be trying to lure you into a deadly trap. This also
applies to social media as a whole. Be careful who you meet
online and who you give information to.
To all you parents, stop pressuring us your children. Stop
shoving toxic ideals down our throats. It is thanks to your
toxicity that young girls like Iniubong end up in situations like
that.
To all those online job sites like Linkedin, please filter out these
recruiters and job posts. There are a lot of scammers out there.
