AI in Supply Chain: What is it, and Why?
Richard is a patent-holding former cardiology
executive and engineer, currently reinventing how
people travel in metropolitan areas around the
world. He co-founded Adiona, the world's first
award-winning, AI-powered logistics Optimisation
SaaS (OaaS) platform that is helping organisations
like Coca-Cola Amatil, JCurve, and Salmat to reduce
costs and environmental impact while simplifying
their operations.
Richard is also actively involved in the medical
device community as a mentor and advisor, and
has been quoted in publications such as Create
Magazine (Engineers Australia), IEEE, Boston
Business Journal, and CNN.com. He previously cofounded two high tech spin-outs with partners
including the CSIRO and the University of
California (Berkeley), an award-winning Not For
Profit in Boston, and a 6000+ member social
network just for "Engineers Looking For Stuff"
(ELFS).
He also loves music (listening,
playing guitar, and gigs),
beer-brewing (amateur chemistry!),
snowboarding, running,
and amateur magic.

Future
Event: April 2020, Logistics Tech Asia Virtual Summit
Synopsis:
You Can't Spell Supply ChAIn without AI: Humans in the Autonomous Future" is a look into the
near future where AI & machine learning, cloud computing, sensors, and 5G networks will enable
a dramatic evolution of logistics fleets.
Humans will still be needed, but for what exactly?
How will this robot/human interaction evolve and what are the risks?
We'll look through the lens of case studies in dynamic fleet optimization and connected
autonomous vehicles in both the pre and post-Covid-19 world to answer these questions and
more.
Results:
Almost 200 virtual attendees and very high engagement with dozens of questions.
One of the most upvoted (highest rated) sessions of the conference.

How Geo-optimisation is Using
Technology to
Change Lives for the Better?
Event: November 2019, CEBIT Conference
Synopsis:
In this lighting talk case study, Adiona will discuss working with Transport for NSW to
achieve a radical idea: the 30-minute Sydney. This bold vision for future transport aims to

education and jobs are available to most households within 30 minutes on public
transport. Sydney can be a world leader in achieving this goal and using real examples that
focus on real problems and real solutions, this session will show you how ways of thinking
about open data are being used to change lives for the better with technology.

can help, but what does the future of work look like in this rapidly transforming
industry and how can we prepare ours and future generations for the disruption?

AI in Supply Chain: What is it, and Why?
Event:
June 2019 Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia
Kelly Services Skills Shortage event

linkedin.com/in/richsavoie/
linkedin.com/company/-
Synopsis:
One of the most frequent questions that we get from
supply chain, logistics, and mobile workforce
organizational leaders is: Why?
That is, why is AI disrupting the industry and more
importantly, why do I need to know about it?
And in most cases, that question is accompanied by:
What? That is, what exactly are machine
learning and artificial intelligence?
It makes sense that these technologies aren't on
everyone's radar yet, but for those that are willing to
investigate before the mainstream does, there are huge
payoffs.
Results:
Over 50 targeted Supply Chain professionals attended
and we achieved very high engagement both in-room
and on socials.
