Widen your Worldview. Hi there. My name is Grace and I am the co founder, owner and creator
of Filipino virtual assistants.
Today, allow me to encourage you to widen your worldview. Worldview refers to our outlook in
life based on the world that we live and a world that we were exposed to. Like, for example, if I
was born to a family of pessimists and growing up, I always have these experiences that
problems are just overwhelming and it's an obstacle that I can do anything about. So when I
grow up because of those experiences, because of those exposures, I would look at each
opportunity or each challenge as something that I may not be successful in dealing with. Why?
Because that was the experience and that was the worldview that I was exposed to. On the
other hand, if I grew up in a family of problem solvers, and we'll just tackle challenges as
opportunities to grow and be empowered as a person. When I grow up, when I am facing
challenges, I would excitedly have a better outlook on that. Why? Because I was exposed to a
family, to a world, to a community that those challenges are something that I can deal with. And
those are challenges that would bring me to better opportunities. So the world that we live in,
the world that we're exposed to, becomes our worldview in life. This is why when it comes to
being a business owner or freelancer, we need to expand our worldview.
My worldview did not expand until I was 22. I grew up in a family that pampered me so much as
the lady of the home and I did not learn responsibility, like cooking, organizing and being tidy
and being responsible with my life, even with my schedule until I was 22 years old. When I was
22, and I decided to live my life for my goals, I was exposed to a community of Americans. And
in there I learned how to communicate properly, how not to be inferior, how to be open about
myself and to live a life. That's not only for me, but for other people as well. That life is all about
mission, empowering people, empowering communities, the generation, the nation. It's all about
living a life that would impact and leave a legacy. So in that situation, and that experience, I
grew as a person and had a better perspective of life.
Few months later, actually, after that, I did a school in Germany and there, I also learned to be
more responsible with my life. I learned to be on time, I need to work according to what I was
expected to, to do my role, to be responsible, but it's not about my feelings, and it's not about
me because the world would go on may it be spring, winter or autumn or whatever season it
may be, you have to show up, you have to be responsible. You have to be there. You have to
prepare, you have to be on time. You have to live a life. That's not just for you, but you have to
be responsible, you know, for you and your community and your responsibilities. In that
situation, again, I learned to be a better person and to be a better individual because I was
exposed to another culture, I was exposed to another worldview.
When I became a freelancer, I was about ready because of these experiences. And I gave
value to my customers and gave quality work. And it was always thinking that customers should
go first. Why? Because it's not about me. And I need to be responsible with the things that I was
given to. And those experiences that I had, you know, dealing with the community of Americans
and being exposed to Germans prepared me for the things that I was working as a freelancer
and now as business owner.
So today, this is why I would like to encourage you to expand your worldview by number one,
learning new things. And number two, experiencing new things. Without learning and
experiences, you will stay the same and your expectation and your perspective and your
opinions and your outlook in life, your worldview will stay the same. And you can probably be
looking at things the pessimist way or a problem solver, or you can, you know, be given a lot of
opportunities but you don't have the right mindset. Why? Because your worldview is not
changed. You have to have a change mindset in order for you to be successful. And it doesn't
necessarily mean you have to be dealing with Americans as well or being exposed to the
cultures or going to Germany as well. But learning and experiencing new things will bring you to
that better perspective, that better worldview that will empower you to be a better freelancer, a
better business owner, and a better person. And that would be all for today. God bless. See you
and more power.
