Fundraising Strategies
Strategy #1: Cause-Related Marketing
I would advertise the mission and journey for KIPP Journey Academy in the form of a poster, and I would reach out to the communities outside of the Linden area where the school is located. (OSU community)
The poster would contain the following: KIPP’s mission, values and their motto: “to and through college”; it would also include statistics on their reading and math levels and how much progress is made the first year at KIPP.
There would also be a donation jar in all the local restaurants and facilities (with permission) in the OSU community.- i.e. HIGH STREET stores and shops
I would advertise that the donations would go towards different programs and incentives that would greatly benefit the students of this school so that they can truly have the resources needed to help them excel.
The donation jars and posters would be present for one semester of the academic year. After this the fundraising drive would be altered.
Strategy #2: Bake Sale from KIPPsters to Staff
The KIPPsters at the afterschool program called KIPP Connect would host this bake sale.
The kids at the bake sale would have created about 4-5 things to sale such as different cookies, cakes, granola bars, caramel apples, and other treats that could be bought by the staff and families during lunch and afterschool.
The kids could use this money to purchase new cheerleading uniforms, basketball uniforms and also to fund an end of the year trip if enough money is raised.
This would get the students involved in the activity in which they are asking the staff and others to support them.
