IntaCart app will focus on connecting millions of household customers to suppliers/distributors using a 24/7 internet-friendly app; as an online virtual market that facilitates buying & selling. We aim to use our app to grow the e-commerce and consumer market in the Bahamas/Caribbean. However, user can connect directly with local vendors and suppliers through B2C and B2B business interaction, in turn, to receive fast, convenient home delivery as illustrated below;

With the exponential growth of the food and grocery service industry in the US, we observed that the majority of Bahamas restaurants hardly offer home delivery and grocery stores are always full of customers waiting on the line to be checked out. IntaCart intends to collaborate with restaurants that wish to achieve an online presence and others that wish to deliver quickly to customers. Our app will make it easier for customers to order without waiting on the cue or making a physical appearance to order food and groceries;

The business resumption plan/process is to develop an app that enables users to search and buy different products listed by sellers. Users need to register, to browse or select items, pay using our well-integrated payment system and offer service feedback after delivery;

In addition to our business resumption plan, we will encourage our distriutors/ suppliers to use logistics specialist companies like federal Express (FedEx) to stockpile, warehouse and ship orders wuickly. We will also use our back-office to fulfil non-perishable order deliveries as intermediaries. We will also use our office to operate process orders, direct orders to suppliers, keep customers updated on their order progress and handling of products returns & cancellations.
Apart from fresh foods and meals, customers are given the opportunity to choose delivery time. Our time slots to deliver which must be communicated to resturants, suppliers and distributors includes

6hours: non-perishable and canned groceries
1 day: depends on the level of urgency and time slot choosen by the customer.
2 days: bulk orders, distance and transportation cost and customer’s chosen period of delivery.
We intend to optimize our delivery to be cost-effective by using fluctuation inventory to avoid disruptions of deliveries. Fluctuation inventory will enable us to maintain buffer stock protection when supply and demand fluctuate against the given lead time. We will also use it to minimize stock out situation and keep items readily available for purchase. Fluctuation inventory is mainly for non-perishable items. For restaurants collaborating with us, they will have to adopt lot size inventory, take advantage of quantity discount orders from customers to reduce shipping cost. We can also implement refresh inventory, in turn to receive orders from distributors and send immediately to customers.
Transportation cost: depends on location and amount of deliveries
Technological features: our user friendly app will offer secured money transaction and ensure fast, robust, fault tolerant and scalable usage while supporting more than 500 users.
Architectures: using 3 & N-tier and JZEE architecture, we will handle the entire business logic and data layer which will provide fast, reliable access to data required to operate the app.
Database: oracle 9i and webserver (Apache)
It’s important to consider web security by using preventive firewall to prevent authorized access to the app; considering system attackers like denial of service attack and the use of S-HTTP that helps to transmit private document securely.
