The PTO shaft varies according to the model of the tractor
For a 540 RPM tractor we use a PTO of 6/6 spline, which means the splines attached to both the tractor and the rotary tiller should be 6…..
And for a 1000 RPM tractor we use a PTO of 6/21 spline, which means the spline attached to the tractor should be 21 and the one attached to the tiller should be 6……

The PTO shaft should be cut to length as per the tractor model…..
For instance here we have a 15-inch PTO, but we need it to be 12 inches….
The PTO contains a male and a female part both of which should be cut equally to get the desired length….
This is vital to prevent breakage of the PTO…..
Thus, here we need to cut off 3-inches from the male as well as the female part…
After greasing we will join the PTO again…..
Tractor ke model ke anusaar, PTO shaft ko lambaayi mein kata jana chahiye…
Jaise ki, yahan hamare paas ek 15-inch ka PTO hai, jise humein 12 inch ka karna hai…

There are three points in a PTO shaft that need to be oiled or greased….
One is here at the safety point which is called oil or grease nipple…..
Then inside the shaft there is a yoke that needs to be greased as well….
And on the opposite side, there’s another greasing point here…..
PTO shaft mein grease karne ke liye 3points hote hain…
Pehla safety point par hota hai jise oil ya grease nipple kehte hain…
Phir shaft ke andar ek yoke hota hai jise grease karna padta hai…
Aur phir uski ulti disha mein ek aur greasing point hota hai…
On the main gearbox housing there is an air breather and an oil gauge….
The air breather releases the vacuum formed inside the gearbox…
It needs to be cleaned daily, either with the diesel used in the tractor or with kerosene oil, before running the rotary tiller…..This ensures easy release of vacuum….
The oil gauge has a couple of indicators….The one on the lower side denotes the minimum level of oil required….and the one on the upper side denotes the maximum permissible oil level….Before running the rotary tiller these two levels should be checked daily…..

There is a transmission shaft that connects the main gearbox housing with the side gearbox….
On the transmission shaft there is a greasing point or oil nipple which should be greased with the grease gun daily….The oil nipple can also be opened with spanner and the interior can be greased directly…..
Ek transmission shaft bhi hota hai jo main gearbox housing aur side gearbox ko aapas mein joddta hai…
Is transmission shaft par ek greasing point ya oil nipple hai jise grease gun se roz grease karna chahiye… iske alawa oil nipple ko spanner se kholke bhitari hisse ko bhi grease kiya ja sakta hai…
The side gearbox or side gear casing has an oil-filling plug through which oil can be poured….
Oil has to be poured through the oil filling plug till the time it comes out of the level point.
Having tightened the oil filling plug we need to place an air breather on it which needs to be cleaned daily as well…
In order to change oil in the side gearbox, we can drain the oil from the drain plug located beneath the gearbox right here…..
Just opposite to the side gearbox there is the rotor shaft oiling point, the nut on which should be opened to pour oil through it….This should be filled with oil to the brim
Side gearbox ya side gear casting mein ek oil-filling plug hota hai jisse tel andar daala ja sakta hai…
Tel ko oil-filling plug se hi tab tak daalna chahiye jab tak ki vah apne level point se bahar na aane lage…
Oil-filling plug ko kaske band karne ke baad us par ek air breather rakhna zaroori hota hai… uski bhi roz sfai honi chahiye…
Side gearbox ke tel ko gearbox ke nichle hisse mein maujood drain plug se nikaalkar badla ja sakta hai…
Side gearbox ke bilkul ulti taraf hai rotor shaft oiling point, jise kholkar hi tel daala jata hai… ywh hamesha upari satah tak tel se bhara hona chahiye…
The leveler needs to be adjusted according to the required finish to which the field needs to be leveled….
Now in order to adjust the leveler to achieve a desired surface level we need to open these bolts, and loosen these to enable ourselves to manually move the leveler up or down…..
Having adjusted the leveler to the desired level we need to tighten the bolts on either side….
The bolts on the tension springs on either side are adjusted equally to control the downward force of the leveler on the field….
Tightening the tension bolts will result in more downward force, and loosening them will reduce the downward force…..
The bolts should be tightened or loosened to the same degree so that the force on the field is equally distributed along the leveler…..
Khet ko baraabar karne ke liye apni zaroorat ke anusaar leveler ko sahi tarah se adjust karna hota hai…
Apni manchahi surface level tak pahunchne ke liye leveler ko adjust karna hoga aur iske liye pehle sabhi kal-purjon ko dheela karke apne-aap leveler ko upar ya niche le jana hoga…
Leveler ko apne manchahe level tak adjust karne ke baad dono taraf ke un kal-purjon ko wapas kasna hoga…
Dono taraf ke tension springs ke purjon ko baraabar adjust karna hoga taaki khet par leveler ka downward force niyantrann mein rahe…
Tension bolts ko zyada kasne se downward force badh jayega aur dheela chhodne se yeh force kam ho jayega…
Kasna ya dheela chhodna – dono baraabar hona chahiye taaki leveler se poore khet mein force ek samaan rahe…
To attach the tractor with the rotary tiller we first need to make the two hydraulics or arms of the tractor below parallel with the help of the adjustment screw, and then fit them to the tiller with the hitch pins….
The third arm of the tractor to be fitted with the top link is made straight with the adjustment screw, and then fitted with the hitch pin here…..
We should set the arms of the tractor at the same point in all the three point linkages….
For instance to achieve more depth in the field we should set the hydraulics at the lowermost points of all the three point linkages…..
Tractor ko rotary tiller se joddne ke liye pehle humein dono hydraulics yani tractor ke agle hisson ko adjustment screw ki madad se ek samaan lagana hoga, aur phir hitch pins se tiller mein joddna hoga…

Jaise, khet mein gehraayi badhaane ke liye hydraulics ko teenon point joddon ke sabse nichle points mein set karna chahiye…
To attach the PTO the lock pins on it need to be pressed to insert it….After inserting we need to pull the PTO to check if it has been properly locked or not….
The end of the PTO having two lock pins is attached with the rotary tiller, and the other end with one lock pin is attached with the tractor….
Having attached the PTO shaft, the chain on it is used to tie the PTO up with the upper link or arm of the tractor….
PTO ko joddne ke liye uske lock pins ko dabaana hoga taki wo andar ghus jaye… phir PTO ko baahar nikaalke dekh lein ki theek se band hua ya nahi…

There is a depth skid adjuster on either side of the rotary tiller, which needs to be adjusted according to the required depth of cultivation….
The higher the depth skid adjusters are set the deeper the machine tills the field, and vice versa…..
Before running the tractor we need to move the stand of the rotary tiller up and fix it….

After running the rotary tiller for the first 8 working hours – after purchase that is - we need to check all the fasteners or bolts on the machine and tighten them if needed….
Every 10 working hours, besides repeating what you should do after the first 8 working hours, you need to check the level of oil in the main gearbox, the side gearbox and the rotor shaft oiling point…..and refill them if the oil level is low….Also you need to grease the PTO shaft….

Har 10 ghanton mein, pehle 8 ghanton mein kiye gaye sabhi kaam dohraane ke alawa, aapko main gearbox, side gearbox aur rotor shaft oiling point mein tel ka star jaanchna hoga… yadi kam rahe to use bharna hoga… aur PTO shaft ko grease bhi karna hoga…
Har 300 ghanton mein main gearbox aur side gearbox ke tel ko poori tarah se badalna hoga…
You also need to take a few precautions while running the tiller…..
Before running the tractor, check the safety bolt of PTO shaft if it’s broken or loose or not….Replace or tighten accordingly…
Also you need to check if the PTO shaft is properly locked or not with the tiller as well as the tractor….Check if the chain on the PTO is tied up with the upper link or arm of the tractor as well…..
Do stay clear of the moving parts…..
Don’t run the PTO when the tiller is in lifted position, or else the PTO shaft might break….
Before leaving the tractor always lower the rotary tiller to the ground, switch the engine off and put on the parking brake…..

For a 1000 RPM tractor we use spur gears of 13x22 combination…..The 13 tooth gear is fit towards the Live Input shaft, and the 22 tooth gear is fit towards the Output shaft

For a 540 RPM tractor we use spur gear combination of 17x18 ….The 17 tooth gear is fit towards the Live Input shaft, and the 18 tooth gear is fit towards the Output shaft….

This is how the gears are fit….After fitting the gears in the right combination, we need to lock them with gear locks….Then we will fit the back plate of the gearbox….
Gears ko is tarah fit kiya jata hai… gears ko sahi combination mein fit karne ke baad unhe gear locks se band kiya jata hai… phir gearbox ki back plate wapas lagaayi jati hai…

It’s very easy……
Aayiye ab hum dekhte hain ek seed drill ko sanklit kaise karte hain…
Yeh bahut aasan hai…
First we need to measure the length of the seed drill frame and mark its centre…..
We then fit the J-type tyne at the centre….Then we fit the L-type tynes 7 inches apart from one another facing the direction opposite to the tyne at the centre….
The tynes fit just before the last tynes on either end are the ones that are welded on the centers of their bases….
Having fit all the tynes we will make it upside down, so that the frame rests on the tynes….
Now we will put together the tractor link…..and fit it on the frame…..
Then we get the alignment of the link right by using a rod….and tighten the bolt over here…..
The main seed drill attachment is now fit over the frame….
The main seed drill attachment has two boxes….The box towards the tractor is filled with fertilizer, and the box at the other end is filled with seeds….
Now it’s time to fit the pipes which have to be cut according to the required length…..
During cultivation, fertilizer should be sown first and then seeds….So the pipe fit below the fertilizer box should be placed in front of the pipe below the box of seeds…..
Having fit the pipes we need to attach the seed drill wheel….It is fit in front of the box of seed….
If the chain shaft of the wheel is on the right hand side, we need to fit the wheel on the left side of the central tyne….and do just the opposite if the chain shaft is on the left hand side…..
The chain is then fitted with the chain shaft…
Rotors are fit with the seed drill to sow seeds and fertilizer….There are rotors of eight different dimensions….The type of rotor is selected depending on the type of seed sown….
The plate here details which rotor should be used with what type of seed…..
However, only the type 7 rotor is fit to sow fertilizer….
Rotors are fit here on the rotor shaft….
We should fit the same type of rotor throughout…
The rotor is fit like this so that seed is lifted like this and thrown down the pipe…
And the alignment of rotors should be like this…
