TIP around the World
WHEN AND WHERE IS TIPPING AN ETIQUETTE OR AN INSULT
Traveling to different countries sure is an adventure. You
might have the handy dandy map app on your phone, and a
pocket
English-to-Whatever-Language dictionary, but nothing
can ever prepare you to common "travel-trouble" like being lost,
miscommunication, culture shock and… the mystery of tipping. Don’t you love adventures?
Tipping or giving money for services rendered is a custom that varies from one country to the next.
Some may consider it proper manners, while others may find it disrespectful or insulting.
So, when you enter a shop or restaurant in a country where you're traveling for the first time and
you're feeling generous, make sure that you know enough of the following tipping rules.
DO THAT TIPPING ASIAN STYLE!
China:
Some cities in China don't usually accept tips, but in more westernized regions like Hong
Kong and Macau, giving tip is ordinary. Guides and drivers for a tour group get tipped with either
cash or small tokens like chocolates. Leaving change in hotels and restaurants on top of the
standard 10 – 15% service charge in the bill is a common practice.
Japan:
No Tipping. Period. It's considered rude in Japan. Although there are a few high-end hotels
that accept tips, tthey are few and far between, and a tip is supposed to be delivered discreetly to
the recipient in a stylish envelope with a respectful bow.
India:
In exclusive restaurants and hotels, a gratuity or "baksheesh" is invoiced as a 10–15% service
charge. Tipping is not required at regular service facilities, though it is optional.
South Korea:
In South Korea, tipping is neither "mandatory nor expected," yet it is gradually becoming the norm as
the country becomes more westernized.
Singapore:
Restaurants and hotel bills usually charge 10% for service, although that money goes to the
company and not to the staff who served you. Giving more than this is strictly prohibited.
Jordan:
A service charge of 5 – 35% goes to the staff as a reward in advance to ensure that they render
the best service.
Malaysia:
Tipping is not mandatory in Malaysia. A 6% tax plus 10% service charge is usually included in the
bill.
Taiwan:
Tip is not commonly expected in Taiwan. Sometimes tipping can cause confusion, especially for taxi
drivers, so don’t give too much and just leave a spare change.
Thailand:
Tipping is not compulsory here. Leaving excess change or rounding up the fare to the nearest
number is the usual practice, especially when tipping cabbies. Service charge in restaurants and
hotels depends on class and prestige. Service employees in Thailand do not earn much, so
giving them a tip as reward for a job well done is greatly appreciated.
Philippines:
Tipping is customary throughout the country, especially in cities. On top of the 10-15% charged by
restaurants, tips are usually given to service employees. You can choose to leave without tipping if
you don't think the service was satisfactory.
BEST NICHE SEO TECHNIQUES
First and foremost, what is SEO? SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. IIt is
a tactic employed by websites to achieve the highest possible rating in Google, Yahoo, and other
search engines' search results. The purpose of SEO is to drive more traffic to your website than
your competitors in the same market.
Next, what is Niche? In online marketing, a niche refers to a company, service, or even
product that caters to a specialized market sector. Simply said, a niche is your intended
audience. The following effective marketing SEO methods can keep your website afloat in a
sea of competitors in your selected industry.
1. Select the Most Effective Keywords and Key Phrases
Know the terms and phrases that your target group frequently uses in their search inquiries.
Investigate SEO themes that are relevant to the message you want to convey on your website.
Put yourself in your prospect's shoes.
But don't go overboard. It's one thing to use several keywords to gain the maximum visibility
and rating in the search results display, but keyword stuffing, or filling a website with
commonly searched keywords that are unrelated to the page's content, is another issue. Your
website may receive a lot of traffic at first, but people will lose trust in it eventually, resulting in a
decline in page visitors and, eventually, the closure of your homepage.
NO CASH, NO BUSINESS? NOT IMPOSSIBLE
Zero Capital Business preposterous? Think again. You won't even need a physical location to
conduct business with clients with the help of the Internet. Without a boss, time restraints, or
monetary outlay, you may fill your bank account with passive income. Make money on the
internet. How?
KNOW YOUR RESOURCES. STICK TO YOUR PASSION.
If you don't have enough money to start a business, consider what equipment, skills, and,
most importantly, enthusiasm you already have. It's challenging enough to enter into
something you don't understand, let alone invest time, money, and energy in a company
you don't care about. When all else fails, the will to do something is the only thing that
can save you.
You can start your own online business or businesses if you have a PC and a stable
Internet connection. Nothing compares to the convenience of conducting business from the
comfort of your own home. You can manage your own time and earn bucks while munching
on some chips or watching Netflix.
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.
To advertise, you don't need to be wealthy. You don’t even need a celebrity to endorse you.
Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites are excellent for sharing information about
your company with family, friends, and friends of friends. .
You don't need to hang flyers or post on walls because every Internet user is a potential client.
Sites that offer free ad posting and website hosting are easy to find. Create your own
website and business cards. Be creative.
IMPROVE YOURSELF AND BE BOLD.
There are good and terrible results in business, but how you use them to your advantage makes
a huge difference. Improve upon the favorable outcomes while learning from unfavorable ones.
Take classes, read books, and surround yourself with individuals who have been in your shoes
previously. Don't limit yourself because there are many opportunities available.
Excerpts from EBooks:
Introduction
I want to thank you and congratulate you for downloading the book, “How To Be Interesting”.
This book will teach you how to be humorous, liked, unique, and remembered for the rest of
your life. The majority of us feel that just a few people on this world have been born with an
abundance of charisma. Some folks have an uncanny ability to pique your curiosity. What is it
about them that makes them so engaging and charming? Is it their good looks, laid-back
demeanor, intelligence, or wealth that make them so successful? Is it because they already have
everything? Is it because they did something truly extraordinary — a daring adventure, a
heinous crime, or a noble act?
Is it possible to be interesting without trying? I'd rather say no, because if I did, what would be
the point of reading this book? It takes guts and work to be likeable, humorous, and intriguing
from head to toe. Although the theories in this book are not proven to be true, personal
experiences and anecdotes cannot be discounted as a realistic and reliable foundation for the
approaches presented. It's a book for everyday folks like you and me, as well as professionals,
rich men, beautiful ladies, smarty pants, and hardworking students. So curl up in your favorite
chair, take a hot cup of cocoa or tea, and begin reading about how to become the most
entertaining person in any situation and be remembered for it!
Once again, thank you for taking the time to read this book. I wish you the best of luck!
Chapter 2: Grabbing Attention the Right Way
If you want to look intriguing in other people's eyes, the first thing you must do is get their
attention. If you fail to clear this first step, your grandest scheme should be scrapped because
the entire chance is already wasted. Clowns and magicians use props to keep things interesting
and amusing for the audience. You, on the other hand, can get by just fine with a silver tongue
and your brain.
It's a difficult nut to crack: spark someone's interest and keep at it. It can make or break the rest
of your plan. Let's attempt to make things easier by breaking this step down into smaller steps,
such as improving yourself, accepting who you are, being a child again (in a good way), and
always practicing humility.
Self-Improvement
Appearance has always been a consistent criterion for appraising a person's worth and
character. We are all guilty of ignoring the life adage "don't judge a book by its cover." We are
naturally drawn to things that appeal to our primary senses, so we instinctively decide whether
or not a person is worthy of our attention based on what our eyes see and accept. This is
something that is firmly engrained in the subconscious and hence unavoidable, therefore make
an effort to nurture oneself to be as physically presentable as possible if you want to make a
good impression.
Acknowledge the Real You, Weirdness and All.
We are all one-of-a-kind. Even family members who we share genes with have talents, abilities,
and personalities that are distinct from our own. Our peculiarities are also influenced by our
own adaptive abilities and experiences. This behavior defines us, yet in keeping with our
dissatisfied and adversarial natures, we make it our life's mission to fight and change it. We
make an effort to transform into someone we are not. How many people become melancholy as
a result of their reluctance to accept themselves and their circumstances? Although there are
numerous elements that contribute to depression, one powerful catalyst is the disparity between
a person's ability to cope with their surroundings.
Not everyone will accept you for who you are. You can't change it, but you don't have to conform
to their expectations at the same time. Your finest asset is you: quirky, moody, little you. Your
uniqueness, after all, may be what draws people to you in the first place.
Don't try to hide the qualities that differentiate you as an individual and, simply, YOU. We feel
relieved, pleased, and confident in our own skin when we learn to accept things as they are
rather than be fearful of them. Always keep in mind that CONFIDENCE IS ATTRACTIVE.
Showing all your weirdness and making them too gaudy is an entirely different matter, however.
There's a world of difference between someone who's quirky and someone who's desperately
attempting to attract attention.
It will undoubtedly attract attention, but for all the wrong reasons, and it will not take you to the
next level. People will be entertained for a time, but ultimately they will become annoyed and
choose to ignore you. They might even feel bad about wasting their time on you.
Release the Inner Child in You
Children are honest to their nature. Their natural naivety allows them to express their
emotions and courageously do whatever they want, no matter how ridiculous or absurd it may
seem. Eventually, we start to analyze, criticize and question the things in our life, and we grow
up, leaving the child in us behind.
Release the child in you – curious, attentive and happy. Smile always and be optimistic
about life. Happy, contented people attract attention because they’re like walking beacons of
light and brightness. It’s contagious. Positive energies infect people with happiness.
Chapter 4: What are the Alternative Replacements for
Gluten?
Gluten is included in nearly every processed item available in supermarkets and
markets. It's become a must-have ingredient in practically every dish. If you decide to
become gluten-free for the rest of your life, the following can be used as gluten
substitutes so you may still enjoy your favorite cakes, desserts, and sandwiches.
Flour Alternatives
When preparing a cake or pizza dough, the ideal wheat flour substitutes are potato,
cassava, corn, sorghum, rice, arrowroot, and legume flour. These can be mixed or
blended in different portions, depending on preference. Rice flour and sorghum flours
are gluten-free flours with medium density. Heavy gluten-free flours are derived from
grains such as millet, and buckwheat.
Corn flour and Cornstarch: Corn flour and cornstarch are two of the most common
flour substitutes for wheat flour. Ground corn kernels are used to make cornstarch.
Soups, sauces, and other liquid-based meals commonly use it as a thickening. It is
favored over corn flour because of its translucent, slurry-like appearance when mixed
with water and boiled at a low temperature. A batter made with corn flour and a quarter
teaspoon of baking powder works well for fish, meat, and vegetables.
Tapioca flour: Tapioca flour is made from tapioca starch, which is derived from
cassava, a root crop. One cup of tapioca flour can replace one cup of wheat flour, one
and a quarter cup of barley flour, or one and a third cup of rye flour in a recipe. Tapioca
flour can be used alone or in combination with other flours to get the desired texture
and flavor.
Chapter 6: How do I start and practice a Gluten-Free
Diet?
Creating a gluten-free environment is as important as practicing a gluten-free
diet. Although this may appear challenging, completing the first step is already half
the battle won. The next big steps will be as easy as pie. ILongevity and good health
will come as a result of your efforts. To live a gluten-free lifestyle for the rest of your
life, start by making your home gluten-free.
Segregate
Keep gluten-free utensils and cooking equipment apart from regular utensils and
equipment. Anything that has been exposed to gluten must be thoroughly cleaned or
replaced. Cabinets and cupboards where gluten-contaminated items, utensils, and
culinary equipment are stored must also be washed.
Prioritize
When cooking or preparing food, always make the gluten-free food first. This way, you
would not have to clean all utensils and cooking pans or pots all over again.
