Case Study
No IT experience, No IT staff, but need a mission-critical
extranet applications YESTERDAY
The Company
Clearview Strategic Partners is a Toronto-based company focused on
compliance, corporate governance and employee engagement solutions for
multinational corporations and government institutions.
The Challenge
Convert Clearview's manual business functions to a user-friendly, Web-based
application with multiple language capabilities that would support custom
reporting and ongoing dialogue while allowing employees to remain
anonymous.
Clearview had never implemented an extranet – or any other e-business
application – of this magnitude. The functionality had to be user friendly
enough to enable even inexperienced users to use the application extensively.
With tight timelines and an even tighter budget, this would prove no easy task.
The application also had to offer such key features as:

Two or more languages for the interface and Website content
•
Scalability to enable the addition of users, servers, processes, and
transactions
•
Custom reporting of ongoing dialogue while allowing employees to remain
anonymous

The Partner
Clearview teamed up with Bonasource – a partner who’d undertaken similar
projects and succeeded. Bonasource's agile development approach and
onshore-offshore business model– a model that minimized delivery costs –
ensured that Clearview would meet both its deadline and its budget.
The Solution
Bonasource used an iterative approach to create a solution for Clearview. This
approach – called agile development methodology – allowed users to see the
system in action during the development phrase, and thereby provide feedback
to the development team early on in the process. Bonasource's content
management system, called PortalFS, formed the backbone of the extranet,
thus allowing Clearview to maintain their content themselves, without relying
on their IT department.
The Result
Clearview Connects™, a user-friendly, Web-based application, allows our
clients to gather honest – and anonymous –feedback from their employees,
customers, shareholders and suppliers.
