Subject Line: We’re excited to welcome Eckler’s new resident scholar!
Eckler Ltd. is excited to announce its new Resident Scholar, Dr. Bonnie-Jeanne MacDonald. Bonnie-Jeanne joins Eckler as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an academic researcher in the Department of Economics at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada.
Bonnie-Jeanne conducts research on financial security for an aging population with the ultimate goal of advancing the financial security landscape. Bringing together leading industry experts and building on academic best practices coupled with innovative research, her insightful perspectives continue to help people not only in theory, but also in practice.
A recipient of the 2011 Gold Medal in Actuarial Science (Hon BSc) at the University of Western Ontario, Bonnie-Jeanne holds a PhD in Actuarial Mathematics from Scotland’s Heriot-Watt University. In 2011, she was chosen one of the Canada’s top young economists and attended the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Germany. In 2014, her research on the Living Standard Replacement Rate garnered the 2014 Pension, Benefits and Social Security Scientific Committee Award Prize for Best Paper at the 30th International Congress of Actuaries - research that formed an integral part of Eckler’s progressive retirement plan management tool, Guided OutcomesTM.
