(ATTORNEY) LEGAL SERVICE AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT IS MADE THE ………… DAY OF …………………… 2018 BETWEEN: The Body Of Benchers of 1913E Ganges Street, Maitama, Abuja (hereinafter referred to as the “Client”, which expression shall, where the context admits, includes its successors in title, assigns, agents and attorneys), of the one part. AND D. D. Dodo, SAN, FNIAL, OFR – Under the Name and Style of D. D. DODO & CO. of 10 Atbara Street, Off Cairo Street, Wuse II, Abuja-FCT, (hereinafter referred to as “the Attorney”, which expression shall, where the context so admits, includes his heirs, successors in title, assigns, administrators/executors, agents and attorneys) of the other of part. WHEREAS: 1.The Client is desirous of retaining the legal services of the Attorney to handle the Client’s legal issues on reference to the Attorney, as and when they arise. 2. The Client has offered to the Attorney, the retention of legal services in the usual cause. 3.The Attorney has noted the Client’s offer and willing to discharge legal services in the usual cause, at the Client’s instance, on reference. NOW IT IS HEREBY AGREED AS FOLLOWS: The ATTORNEY is to handle all the legal issues of the Client referred which may include litigation, rendering, procuring, franking, retaining of documents of all significance, court processes; proffering, considering legal advice; attending, representing the Client at meetings; performing the services of barristers and solicitors, and other areas that require the professional legal services of the Attorney. The Client will pay the sum of …………………………. to the Attorney yearly as retainership fee on or before the _______________ of a year while a discounted professional fee will be charged the Client, for all the Client’s referral to the Attorney made pursuant to this retainership. DURATION This agreement shall remain in force for a period of TWO YEARS renewable at the instance of either of the parties unless otherwise terminated, subject to the same conditions herein or such other conditions as parties may introduce by mutual agreement. Either party may terminate this agreement, after serving the other party a 14 days’ written notice. If the notice of termination is given by the Client, the Attorney shall be entitled to payment for work done.
