‘The Fate of the Furious’ spoiler: Dom turns back on Family
Actor Vin Diesel, who plays the character of Dominic Toretto in the Fast and Furious movie franchise, will definitely go off-character in this latest instalment as he turns his back on the team which he considers family.
Diesel, in his instagram account @vindiesel (https://www.instagram.com/vindiesel/), revealed that Dom will be involved in a relationship so dangerous that it will challenge him to the core.
“The faith of the fans will be truly tested like never before,” Diesel added.
“Dominic Toretto just went rouge,” said Luke Hobbs, played by actor Dwayne Johnson.
According to Universal Pictures (https://www.universalpictures.com/movies/the-fate-of-the-furious), Oscar winner Charlize Theron will be added to the cast, playing the role of a mysterious woman, Cipher, who will seduce Dom into a world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him.
The official trailer (https://www.universalpictures.com/videos) gives us a hint that Dom was forced to betray his family.
As Cipher tells Dom, “I think I need to remind you why you chose to do this,” Dom retorted, “I got no choice.”
IGN (http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/03/14/helen-mirren-asked-to-join-the-fate-of-the-furious) also reveals that another academy-award winner actress, Helen Mirren, asked to join the cast of the latest movie sequel of the very successful Fast and the Furious movie franchise.
Mirren will star as the mother of brothers Owen and Deckard Shaw (played by Luke Evans and Jason Statham). Although Mirren kept her silence as to her role in the movie, this information was disclosed by Evans himself in an interview with Yahoo! Movies (https://www.yahoo.com/movies/fast-furious-6-costar-luke-evans-on-the-future-of-owen-shaw-and-helen-mirrens-role-.html).
“He’s in a military hospital because he’s the most wanted man in the world,” Evans said in answer to the question of whether his character would come out from coma in the new ‘Fast’ film.
“But he’s got a very powerful brother and he’s now got a mum as well, who’s played by Helen Mirren...” he added, “Who knows?”
Fans are also contemplating on Mirren’s role being linked to Dom’s betrayal.
She, however, earlier told Variety (http://variety.com/2016/film/news/helen-mirren-fast-8-women-hollywod-pay-gap-/) “…I had always had a secret hankering to do “Fast and Furious,” because I love driving cars. Of course, when I finally got my chance, I wasn’t driving the bloody car. I was in the back of an ambulance with Jason Statham.”
F8 opens in theaters April 14.
