The fungus develop many superficial colony.
Fungus produced flocculent growth at first it is white growth.
When conidia are produced the color will change grayish to white.
Disease leaves not shed but wrinkled rate of photosynthesis is low.
Leaves deformed, twisted and wrinkled.
So transpiration and respiration in infected plant increase but photosynthesis consequently decrease.
Disease cycle:-
The pathogen is soil born in form of cleastheia
It can survive 13 year in temperate climate condition of low temperature
Ascospores produced best at 18°C-20°C
For the growth of conidial spores optimum temperature is 15°C low temperature 3°C
Management:-
Cultivation of mixed variety delay the chances of powdery mildew
Treatment of crop stubbles management recommended
Use of symptoms fungicides vitavex
Use of triozole fungicides little Payton and Bealeton @ 0.1-0.2% gives 100% control
For 42 days when used as seed dressing and foliar spray
But some a virulent strain B.grminis hordei induced systemic resistant against virulent strain of pathogen
