Case Study – E-Commerce client
The Client
This is a company that specializes in sale of kayaks and other outdoor recreational equipment.
This company is based in Brisbane Australia and has stores in Brisbane and Melbourne. We
started working with them in July of 2016 on handling their entire digital advertising efforts.
The Challenge
This client has started their online store with expectations of scaling up their business and
profits. The main challenge was tracking website visitors who turned into customers by going to
the physical store locations in Brisbane. Besides this, the client was not selling their products
and was facing a pretty big push back from the competitors.
Our Approach
Search Campaigns
We did detailed keyword research and create a comprehensive base of keywords that were
used in our search campaigns. We created sets of campaigns for all product types and brands
covering all products with both short and long tail keywords in all keyword modifiers.
Display Campaign
It was crucial to raise brand awareness since the people who are in our final funnel step are the
ones that are looking for our client by name. In order to do this, it was necessary to create
complicated audience lists that we targeted with both Gmail and standard Display campaigns.
Working with the client on the quality of our Display advertising assets and the quality of their
offer for repeat customers was critical for this endeavor.
Shopping Campaigns
This e-commerce store has over 1500 products and it was of extreme importance to organize
the Shopping campaigns correctly. We created campaigns for each product groups by using
One-Product one-Ad Group campaign organization type. By organizing campaigns in this order
we were able to manage our budgets and bidding in the most optimal way possible.
Key Stats
When we started working with this client they were spending around 2000A$ on their AdWords
campaigns and had total revenue of around 4500A$ from AdWords. In the previous month, they
spent around 10000A$ on AdWords campaigns with total revenue of over 50000A$.
