UPSC Civil Services
UPSC or Union Public Service Commission is the highest recruiting authority in India, which
recruits people for working under various government departments. Years after year millions
of students, be it freshers, working professionals, or undergrads, try their luck and hard work
in this exam. The services offered are IAS (Indian Administrative Services), IFS (Indian
Foreign Services), IPS (Indian Police Services), IRS (Indian Revenue Services), Postal
Services, and many more.

The Dream
The exam is conducted in a series of three sets of exams.
THE PREPERATION
1. The preliminary exam(2 tests)
2. The Mains Exam (9 tests)
3. Personal Interview
The pattern has been changed after the 2013 exam because UPSC never wants students to
cram everything under the Sun. Rather it wants people to understand and apply theoretical
knowledge.

So what is the fuzz all about
The question which every non-aspirent asks, when they see all the commotion, is why is all
this hype?
Well, the answer is not as simple as that.
UPSC Civil Services Exam means different to different candidates apart from some similar
images which the society builds in us all. For some this is the matter of pride, for others, it is
a stable and job of status. Some people want to serve the nation and some have no idea

what the heck is going on but just because their parents and the society have told them to
take the test, they appear (Believe me, there is quite a high number of this species).
In a country like India, where private jobs are becoming less and less paying and more
scarce day by day, the shift towards the government sector is inevitable. Moreover, UPSC
jobs are very lucrative and the best in the class.
